黃南逸 단국대학교 1986 論文集 Vol.20 No.-
The purpose of this study is to emphasize the necessity of a new model for testing Heckscher-Ohlin model. In the study, we have examined the factor endowments and the determinants of comparative advantage. For this study, we have referred to Heckscher-Ohlin model which explains the mechanism of the trade pattern in the framework of static analysis, and Leamer model which explains the movement of production factors based on the Heckscher-Ohlin-Vanek theorem when the trade imbalance under the factor endowments occurs. It is my primary intention to show a survey on the studies of the interpretations of the "Leontief·Paradox" and its relevant studies-especially their complementaries. In addition to that, the limitations of the "Leontief·Paradox" in the framework of H-O model have been pointed out, based on Leamer's argument in which the concept of net-exports should be introduced in the new test model. Finally, this study has shown that the interpretations of the "Leontief·Paradox" are incorrect because they compare the capital intensity embodied in exports with that in import substitution (K_x/L_x?K_m/L_m). It has been emphasized, therefore, that capital intensity embobied in net-exports should be compared with that in consumption or production(K_T/L_T?K_c/L_c or K/L). In this respect, "Leontief·Paradox" should be reconsidered and a new test model be established.
