        An IP-related Syntactic Developmental Sequence (ISDS)

        The purpose of this study is to explore the question on how we can establish an IP-related syntactic developmental sequence. For a possible answer to this question, this study proposes an IP-related Syntactic Developmental Sequence (ISDS) derived from the Syntactic Developmental Sequence (Kim, 2006; Vainikka & Young-Scholten, 1998). The ISDS constitutes an implicational developmental sequence of the Single IP—the Double IP—the Multiple IP Stage in terms of the number of the auxiliary verbs in a sentence. The Single IP Stages follow an implicational sequence of Underspecified IP→TP→AgrP stage in terms of the LC in accordance with the Split-IP hypothesis. The Double IP Stages also follow an implicational sequence of Underspecified IP→ModP→AuxP*→TP→AgrP→ ForP stage in terms of the LC in accordance with the Split-AuxP hypothesis. The Multiple Stages are involved in the operations of mod-and aux-matching mechanisms which govern the matching of the aux-features and the mod-features, and the agreeing of modality, aspect, and passive features. Then, this study demonstrates that each stage of the ISDS can be examined on the IL data from sequence-based SLA research. In conclusion, the ISDS can determine the syntactic IL developmental sequence for the Double or the Multiple IP Stages as well as the Single Stages, and hence provide a theoretical framework for UG-based SLA research.

        자유학기제에서 지역연계 체험활동과 인프라 구축 방안의 특성 분석

        자유학기의 중추적인 역할을 하는 자유학기 활동과 이를 활성화하는 역할을 하는 지역연계 체험활동을 어떻게 활성화하고, 또 체험 인프라를 구축할 것인가의 문제가 자유학기제의 성패를 결정짓는다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 시도 교육청의 중학교 자유학기제 운영 계획안에 제시된 ‘지역 연계 체험 활동 설계 운영 방안’과 ‘지역 인프라 구축・운영 방안’의 특성을 분석하였다. 이 같은 특성을 분석을 토대로 현재 시행 중에 있는 자유학기제 활동의 활동 방안 구성에 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 이 같은 연구 목적을 위해, 본 연구에서는 이 두 방안을 분석하기 위한 분석 틀로서 명목적방안과 실천적 방안의 구성요건을 설정하였다. 이 같이 구성한 분석 틀에 따라 분석한 결과에 따르면, 시도 교육청에서 제시한 두 방안은 구현성과 실천성이 결여된 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 방안의 실천성이 결여되었기 때문에 현장 교사들은 이 두 영역의 활동을 수행하는데 어려움을 겪는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 각 시・도 교육청은 자유학기 활동과 관련된 각 영역의 방안을 구성할 때에는 본 연구에서 제안한 실천적 방안의 3 필수요건, 즉, 방안 제시 요소, 방안 구체화 요소, 방안 실현 요소를 충족할 수 있도록 구성할 것을 제안하였다. In our Middle School Free Semester free semester activities play a pivotal role at the center of which local community-based activities are. Thus, how to activate free-term activities, how to activate community-based experiential activities and how to build an experience infrastructure for them will determine the success or failure of the free semester system. In order to meet this necessity, this study is to analyze the characteristics of the plans for designing and operating a local linking experiential activities and the plans for planning and operating a regional experiential infrastructure presented in the operation plan for the free semester in middle school of the provincial offices of education and to provide an implications for the activity plans of the free semester system. For this purpose, this study constructs the analysis tool which consist of the nominative and the practical plans. The results of the analyses revealed that the two plans were lacked of their specificity and practicality. Thus, this study suggests that each provincial office of education need to meet the 3 essential requirements of the practical plan proposed in this study, namely, the presentation plan, the specification plan, and the implementation plan.

        2016 대학수학능력시험 영어 영역 최소필수교과목 선정에 관한 연구

Modern Studies in English Language & Literature 57.1 (2013): 1-32. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) introduced the 2014 level differentiated College Scholastic Academic Test (CSAT) which has been designed to incorporate the 2009 National Curriculum. As with this new curriculum, eight English subjects, including four subjects for practical English and another four for general English, were provided to high school students who will select several subjects among the eight subjects. In order for students to make better decision in selecting the most optimized subjects that will best fit their CSAT, the students and schools need to be provided with more analytical and comparative data on the characteristics as well as the co-relationships of the subjects. To achieve this purpose, the eight subjects in the high school curriculum were comparatively analyzed in terms of the goals, language skills, and the achievement standards of the eight subjects. As a result, four subject combinations were derived from our analysis with strong points and weak points for each combination. Schools, therefore, can select the most appropriate subjects which satisfy the most students based on the data. MEST, having already designated two and three minimum essential subjects for the A-type English test and the B-type in the 2014 SCAT under the 2007 National Curriculum, will also have objective data that will designate the new minimum essential subjects under the 2009 National Curriculum. However, it is suggested that each school needs to consider the students` levels, needs, future career, and its environmental factors when selecting minimum essential subjects.         The Paper discussed the effects of working electric current and pulse when using super hardend alloy drill as corona electrode. The discharge effect can be obtained very precisely in the ranges of 1A - 2A in working current. $12{\mu}s-14{\mu}s$ in dis charge pulse on time width and $8{\mu}s-10{\mu}s$ in discharge pulse off time.

        국가영어능력평가시험(NEAT)의 문항 유형의 개발과 선별 원리 및 검사지 구성의 원칙

        The purpose of this study is to present underlying principles and criteria for designing and developing National English Ability Test (NEAT). To this end, this study presents 5 principles (i.e., Connection, Authenticity, Interactiveness, IBT Compatibility, Washback Effectiveness) which play guiding and controlling roles in developing and selecting item types appropriate for the listening and the reading test of NEAT derived from test usefulness (Bachman & Palmer, 1996). Also, it proposes 4 criteria (i.e., Complementarity, Integration, Pivotality, and Hierarchicality) which function levering roles in designing and developing the two tests of NEAT on the basis of the empirical data of the item analyses of Foreign (English) domain of College Scholastic Ability Tests (2005~2010 school year). Finally, it discusses some implications and applications of the principles and the criteria to a theoretical blueprint for establishing an item developing system and a test implementation system, setting up the criteria of validating item types, designing a modular type of test specifications, and specifying a complementary type of test specifications for the two ability-level listening and reading tests (the 2nd and the 3rd rank) of NEAT.
