        확장 해양생물 먹이망 기반 해양방사능 전문가 시스템 개발: 초기 퇴적층 오염 실험

        An extended version of an expert system was developed as an effort to provide technical support to decision makers for the initial prompt assessment of environmental impacts of marine radioactivity, considering both pelagic and benthic marine food webs. The preliminary version of this system was firstly developed to determine the transfer of radionuclides through a pelagic marine food web (Kim et al, 2020). This system's approach was similar to the Cornell Mixing Zone Expert System (CORMIX) developed by Jirka (1995), as it used idealized settings for the physical/hydrodynamic coastal conditions. Existing or extended systems were executed by taking into account different kinds of radioactivity sources. The initial contamination of bottom sediment is considered in the present study, while the direct discharge to the coastal ocean from the nuclear power plant was considered in the early study. Assuming initial contamination, sensitivity experiments of temporal 137Cs variations without/with horizontal advection and diffusion (EXP-WOHAD and EXP-WHAD, respectively) were conducted. In EXP-WOHAD, a total of six test cases were constructed, considering a range of vertical diffusion coefficients and sediment fluxes at the water-sea bed interface. The EXP-WHAD experiments were classified into two categories with six cases each, considering the horizontal diffusion and advection processes. The EXP-WOHAD results show that the vertical diffusion processes in the bottom sediment result in the exponential decay of the 137 Cs concentrations in the top sediment layer through upward and downward diffusive fluxes, producing pulse-like time variations in 137Cs in the water column and the middle sediment layer. These sediment fluxes affect the peak height and its occurrence time in the water column and the middle sediment layer. From EXP-WHAD, it has been confirmed that part of 137Cs diffused into the water column experiences horizontal dispersion and thereafter deposition to the bottom sediment. It is noted that due to the limited diffusion to the water column, the 137Cs concentrations in benthic organisms are larger than those in pelagic organisms.

        Nano-scale Wear: A Review

        Wear is a phenomenon that is encountered in most mechanical systems with moving parts. It is directly related to the life and reliability of the system, and hence, wear should be controlled in order to achieve the desired life and performance of the system. Due to the complex nature of wear, understanding of the mechanisms of wear is still lacking. The extent and characteristics of wear depend on the scale of the system which is largely dictated by the load applied between the components in contact. Particularly, in nano-scale, the mechanisms of friction and wear are unclear and often elusive. As such, the development of microsystems technology is hindered by the challenges of surmounting the friction and wear problems at the nano-scale. In this paper advancements made in the field of nano-wear are reviewed with the aim to provide an overview that can be useful to engineers and scientists who are not necessarily in the field of tribology. Research works conducted using AFM to probe the nano-scale wear of ultra-precision components are discussed. The works related to nanotribology of MEMS are also reviewed. In addition to the experimental investigations, theoretical and simulation works regarding nano-wear at the atomic-scale are introduced.

      • N-Oxyldiethylenebenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide의-S-N= 결합에 대한 전기화학적 환원

        N-Oxyldiethylenebenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide(ODBS ; 가황촉진제)의 전기화학적 환원을 직류와 시차펄스 폴라로그래피 순환 전압전류법, 조절전위 전기량법으로 연구하였다. ODBS의 전극환원과정은 단일 환원파(-1.86 volts vs. Ag/0.1M AgNO₃ in AN)에서 비가역으로 3전자가 이동하는 E-C-E-C 반응메카니즘으로 진행되었다. 조절전위 전기분해 결과 sulfenamide(-S-N=) 결합이 끊어지고 mercaptobenzothiazole(MBT)과 benzothiazole disulfide(MBT dimer) 그리고 유리된 sulfur 등이 생성물로 얻어졌다. pH 변화에 따른 폴라로그램의 해석과 생성물 분석의 결과를 바탕으로하여 전기화학적 반응 메카니즘을 제안하였다. The electrochemical reduction of N-oxyldiethylenebenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide(ODBS; vulcanization accelerator) was investigated by direct current polarography, differential pulse polarography, cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry. The irreversible electrode reduction of ODBS proceeded E-C-E-C reaction mechanism by three electrons transfer with irreversible one wave(-1.86 volts vs. Ag/0.1M AgNO₃ in AN). As the results of controlled potential electrolysis, mercaptobenzothiazole(MBT), benzothiazole disulfide(MBT dimer) and extricated sulfur were products which followed by cleavage of the sulfenamide(-S-N=) bond. Upon the basis of products analysis and polarogram interpretation with pH variable, electrochemical reaction mechanism was suggested.

In this era of rapid change, the arts had to adopt to the rules of market while existing donation programs were either missed or thoroughly reformed. Art and history museums showed more and more market characteristics, because of their dependence on donation from companies. Fu11-time artists also introduced unconventional and innovative theme and material to their artworks to adopt to the market trend at that time. “yBa" could be a very suitable example among those. Those new trend artists built their own style of expression, of never found among conventional artists, and this identity was worth of global attention. Their art represented u.K., and contributed British art to become the center of the world. u.K. society has admitted culture diversities and had social atmosphere respecting minor groups. Her art scenes shows various art genres because she has culture respecting artist' s characteristics regardless of race, sex, age, and social class. Graffiti art has made unique manners in many u.K. cities along with Hip-hop culture since 1980’ s. Graffiti art, which was regarded as symbol of the slum, has changed its meaning into social criticism and resistance, being cheered by young artists. Banksy(Robert Banks) is definitely the top among graffiti artists. He is also renowned with his odd behavior, while unrevealing his appearance and identity. As his popularity increasing, People can easily hear the news that banksy sold his works to celebrities in high costs. Attention for Graffiti art is increasing as Banksy and his works are famous. This master' s thesis covered messages of his art works like vested rights, consumerism, and anti-war. This will be helpful to analyze value of his works as well as understand their popular characteristics. He mostly worked on criticism against mainstream of the society, and they appear as police, military, and politicians. 1n his artworks, they appear to be during an illegal activity that cannot be admitted in the society. Banksy criticizes their duplex acts through his expression. Banksy brings up a question regarding the meaning of consumption in the current society. It is true that people are exposed to tremendous advertisement in this society, and this leads to meaningless consumption while attracted to ad. Banksy cri디cizes media that implants biased thinking to people and tries to persuade people to be free from it, and moreover to examine themselves through his artworks. Media, represented with television, shall be rejected from the current society in that it is the main culprit of making people dim• witted on criticism against consumption. Also, he symbolizes people’s thoughtless consumption with a shopping cart, which needs to be deprived of along with television. War is a repeating theme in Banksy’s artworks and he criticizes its uselessness. His art works, especially, can be seen in pickets for anti-war movements in u.K. He did not limited his stage to u.K. and also visited Palestine. He drew on the Wall of Separation with his wish for peace. His works do not criticizes war, but give comfort to those who live among the war. This way, Banksy wanted to share the responsibility for war with everγone , and hopes for salvation of mankind from war through his art works.         Design of Medium Energy Beam Transport for the Rare Isotope Science Project

        The front-end system of rare isotope accelerator of newness (RAON) heavy-ion accelerator, whichconsists of an electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) ion source, a low energy beam transport (LEBT),a radio frequency quadrupole (RFQ) and a medium energy beam transport(MEBT), is now in thetechnical design phase to optimize and improve the optics. Especially, MEBT system is installedbetween the RFQ linac and the superconducting linac (SCL). It requires careful matching of theoptical parameters in transverse plane and removes the unaccelerated ion beams from the RFQlinac. It also includes the beam diagnostic devices to measure the beam quality at the exit ofthe RFQ linac. Quadrupole magnets and normal-conducting re-bunchers are used to minimize thegrowths of the transverse and the longitudinal emittances. To remove the unaccelerated ion beams,we choose a normal-conducting quarter wave resonator (QWR) and designed it by using the MicroWave Studio (MWS) code. The re-buncher has a maximum electric field of 2.95 MV/m on thecavity surface with an electric field of 1 MV/m on the beam axis, a geometrical beta factor of0.025 and an effective length of 22 cm. Beam simulations shows that the beams from upstreamof the LEBT and the RFQ can be transported by the MEBT without any increases in the beamemittances.

        Structural and Electrical Investigations of Aurivillius-phase La- and V-doped Bi5FeTi3O15 Thin Films

        Bi5FeTi3O15 (BFTO), Bi4.25La0.75FeTi3O15 (BLFTO), Bi5FeTi2.97V0.03O15+ (BFTVO) andBi4.25La0.75FeTi2.97V0.03O15+ (BLFTVO) thin films were deposited on Pt(111)/Ti/SiO2/Si(100)substrates by using a chemical solution deposition method. The thin films were well crystallizedand randomly oriented, with no detectable impurities and no secondary phases. The effects of Laand V doping alone and of co-doping with La and V on the structural, electrical and ferroelectricproperties of Bi5FeTi3O15 thin films were investigated. Among the thin films, superior electricalproperties were observed in the BLFTVO thin film. The BLFTVO thin film exhibited a low leakagecurrent density of 1.7 × 10−6 A/cm2 at an electric field of 100 kV/cm, typical hysteresis loops, ahigh dielectric constant and a low loss tangent.

        한국인의 문화적 자기관과 감정표현불능증의 관계: 세대에 의해 조절된 정서표현양가성 및 정서억제 연속매개과정 모형

        The traditional Korean society has been classified as an Eastern collectivist culture, but in the flow of globalization and digitalization along with the post-Cold War era of the 1970s, Western individualistic culture and values quickly permeated the Korean younger generation. Since rapid changes occurred within a short period of time, there may be differences in cultural self-construal between generations living in the same era. Due to this, psychological problems related to emotional expression and suppression may appear differently depending on generations. Therefore, in the current study, 1,000 Korean adult men and women from their 20s to 60s were investigated for their level of independent and interdependent self-construal, alexithymia, ambivalence over emotional expression(AEE) and emotional suppression(ES). Then the relationship between the variables(self-construal and alexithymia,) and the mediating process of AEE and ES were examined. The generation of participants were divided into the industrialization cohort (birth year < 1970) and the digitalization cohort (birth year starting from 1970). Using the PROCESS macro(Hayes, 2022), we tested a serial mediation model of AEE and ES between the relative independent self-construal(RIS) and alexithymia. The results indicate that the level of alexithymia increases by the serial increase of AEE and ES when RIS decreases. Next, we examined a moderation effect of generatione on the mediation process of AEE and ES, and found that generation moderates the relationship between ES and alexithymia. That is, the effect of ES on alexithymia is significant for the digitalization cohort, while it is not significant for the industrialization cohort. The current results imply that emotion regulation strategies of Koreans have been differently developed according to prevailing cultural values in each generation, and that the negative influence of emotion suppression could be different according to the cultural background of each generation.

        Alcoholic fatty liver disease elevates estimated coronary heart disease risk to levels comparable with those of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in the Korean population: a cross-sectional study

        Background/Aims: A close relationship has been established between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) andan elevated risk of coronary heart disease (CHD), but little is known about the association between alcoholic fatty liverdisease (AFLD) and CHD risk. The aim of this study was to determine whether AFLD is associated with elevated CHDrisk. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 10,710 subjects out of 11,469 individuals who visited the Konkuk UniversityHealth Care Center for a routine health checkup in 2010. AFLD was diagnosed made when the usual amount of alcoholconsumption exceeded 210 g/week in males and 140 g/week in females for the previous 2 years and when hepaticsteatosis was detected by liver ultrasonography. The 10-year risk for CHD was estimated using the Framingham RiskScore. Results: Hepatic steatosis was diagnosed in 4,142 of the 10,710 individuals (38.7%); the remainder (i.e., n=6,568)became the control group. The 4,142 individuals with hepatic steatosis were divided into two groups: NAFLD (n=2,953)and AFLD (n=1,189). The risk of CHD was higher in AFLD (6.72±0.12) than in the control group (5.50±0.04, P<0.001),and comparable to that in NAFLD (7.32±0.07, P=0.02). Conclusions: Individuals with AFLD have an elevated 10-year risk of CHD that is comparable to those with NAFLD. Therefore, AFLD should be considered a significant risk for future CHD, and preventive measures should be considered earlier.
