This paper presents Dr. Kang Tai-kook's approach to the practice of prayer. Dr. Kang was not only a well-known gospel preacher and educator but also a man of prayer. Dr. Kang devoted many pages in Biblical Exposition on the Old and New Testament, Biblical Religion and My Testimony to this topic, making it an important subject dealt with. For Dr. Kang, prayer can be briefly defined as a conversation with God. And prayer is 'asking' the living and true God what we need by faith in the name of Jesus. Prayer is communication with our God who hears the prayer. Dr. Kang gave four reasons why we should pray. (1)God is our Father who know our needs. (2) God is love, and He is a good, merciful, and compassionate God. (3) Jesus intercedes for us. (4) The triune God is the ground of all blessing. Dr. Kang also focused on the content of prayer. Most importantly, we should pray to glorify God, pray for others and ourselves, and our prayer should also include our Christian life, our church, as well as our country. Furthermore, we should also pray for our enemies. The attitudes of prayer are important. One must avoid hypocritical prayer to be seen by men, or to keep on babbling like pagans. Positively, when we pray, we should pray earnestly, faithfully, honestly, boldly, and patiently until the prayer is answered. Dr. Kang's practice of prayer began at the age of fifteen and continued throughout his life. His focus was not on himself, but on advancing the kingdom of God through spreading the Gospel. Dr. Kang's approach to the practice of prayer can be summarized into four characteristics. (1) He prayed for real life situations. (2) His prayer was always on a biblical basis. (3) His prayer was focused on the kingdom of God and doing the will of God (4) His prayer always expressed thanksgiving to God.
