Lymphomatous involvement of the skin has been reported to occur in approximately 15% to 20% of patients with lymphoma and in 5% it constitutes the initial presentation of lymphoma. In 1986 Saekow et al. described a patient with a progressively enlarging, indurated lymphomatous plaque on the chest and upper abdominal region that had the shape of a breastplate. They used the term lymphoma en cuirasse. We report a case of lymphoma en cuirasse in a 71-year-old female. She had a well defined, erythematous, hard, indurated plaque on the neck and chest. On physical examination, the right supraclavicular, left inguinal and both axillary lymph nodes were palpable. A Bone marrow aspiration test, chest X-ray and cmputerized tomogram revealed bone marrow and lymph node involvement. Histopathologic examination of the involved skin showed that hyperchromatic and anaplastic lymphocytes were clensely packed in the dermis and subcutaneous fat. On immunohistochemical examination, the tumor cells were positive for the leukocyte common antigen and UCHL-1. We tried to treat the patient with combination chemotherapy, but she refused. After discharge, the patient died one week later. (Kor J Dermatol 1997;35(4): 794-797)
Large Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma Arising in the Scalp
장민수,백재우,박종빈,강동영,강진석,서기석,김상태 대한피부과학회 2011 Annals of Dermatology Vol.23 No.-
Superficial basal cell carcinoma (sBCC), a rare sub-type of basal cell carcinoma, can frequently occur in younger patients. This cancer type preferentially develops on the trunk. However, other subtypes of BCC can occur in the head and neck, probably secondary to sunlight exposure. Especially, sBCC on the scalp has been rarely-reported,accounting for 0.7∼0.8% of all sBCC cases. We report a case of 71-year-old female with a large sBCC of the scalp, an unusual site of sBCC. A study on the Raman spectra of Al-doped and Ga-doped ZnO ceramics

AlxZn1-xO and GayZn1-yO ceramics were synthesized through a solid-state reaction technique. The crystal phase of the samples was identified by an X-ray diffraction experiment. For each sample, the electrical resistivity was determined. The Al 2-mol%-doped and Ga 0.5-mol%-doped ZnO ceramics had the lowest resistivity. Raman measurement was performed to study the doping effects in the ZnO ceramics including ZnO single crystal as a reference. The line-shape parameters, q1 and C1, at the same certain doping rate and the solubility limit of Al (2 mol%) and Ga (0.5 mol%) in ZnO ceramics, are strongly related to the each other, and that the solubility limit plays an important role. The second-order Raman peak at 1162 cm-1 of the ZnO ceramics was fitted by Fano formalism. The Fano’s fitting parameters, such as the lifetime of phonon and the degree of asymmetry degree of the second-order Raman peak changed as the amounts of dopants were varied.
