This thesis deals with the problem of determining a minimum cost sampling inspection plan for double destructive testing by attribute. Using Hald's Bayesian approach in a single nondestructive testing, procedures for finding the minimum cost double destructive sampling inspection plan by attribute are given. The linear cost model is constructed under the assumption that unit cost, destructive testing cost, and salvage cost are given. Assuming the uniform distribution as a prior distribution and being presentation theoretical approach, sampling inspection plan and a minimum cost is obtained. However, when the lot size is large, the global plan is very difficult to obtain even with the aids of an electronic computer. Therefore a method of finding suboptimal plan will be studied.

Today, the statistical process control (SPC) in manufacture environment is an important role at the process by the productivity improvement of the manufacturing systems. The control chart in this statistical method is widely used as an important statistical tool to find the assignable cause that provoke the change of the process parameters such as the mean of interest or standard deviation. But the traditional SPC don`t grasp the change of process according to the points fallen the near control limits because of monitoring the variance of process such as the fixed sampling interval and the sample size and handle the cost of the aspect of these sample point. The control chart can be divided into the statistical and economic design. Generally, the economic design considers the cost that maintains the quality level of process. But it is necessary to consider the cost of the process improvement by the learning effects. This study does the economic design in the VSI X control chart and added the concept of loss function of Taguchi in the cost model. Also, we proved that the VSI X control chart is better than the FSI X in terms of the economic aspects and proposed the standard of the process improvement using the VSI X control chart.

N/A We could evaluate the performance of attribute control charts by normal approximation. The pn control chart, one of them, depends on sample sizes and defective fraction for its performance, and has an disadvantage that needs much samples to use the normal approximation. The usual pn control charts can not detect early shifts in process because it is taking the sampling intervals of fixed length over all times. We use, in this paper, VSI(variable sampling intervals) techniques to overcome this shortcoming. To analyze performance of pn control charts for FSI(fixed sampling intervals) and VSI(variable sampling interval), we compare ATS(average time to signals) of two charts, and evaluate the performance of each control chart by the sample sizes, process fraction defective and control limits that Ryan and Schwertman had proposed.

This study define the concepts of port logistics service by investigating various elements of port logistics service and grouping them in six attributes using a Data Mining technique. The QFD (Quality Function Deployment) technique is applied to measure the quality of port logistics service, and those results are analyzed. The DMQFD (Quality Function Deployment using Data Mining) model proposed in this study is a model for analyzing of port logistics service quality which is produced by combining those two stages. Using the DMQFD model, the requirements of customer could understand more correctly and systematically, and it could be an alternative tool to accomplish a customer satisfaction.

Statistical process cintrol is intended to assist operators of a stable system in monitoring whether a change has occurred in the process, and it uses several control charts as main tools. In design and use of control chart, it is rational that probability of false alarm is minimized in stable process and probability of detecting shifts is maximized in out-of-control. In this study, we establish bootstrap control limits for robust M-estimator chart by applying the bootstrap method, called resampling, which could not demand assumptions about pre-distribution when the process is skewed and/or the normality assumption is doubt. The results obtained in this study are summarized as follows:bootstrap M-estimator control chart is developed for applying bootstrap method to M-estimator chart, which is more robust to keep ARL when process contain contaminate quality characteristic.

The process incapability index intended to estimate the process capability by measuring process incapability provides more detailed information to evaluate the process capability by dividing information about the process mean and variance. But it is very difficult to evaluate the process capability accurately when the target value is not consistent with the center of specification, and the shape of distribution is changed. The proposed incapability index, in this paper, is specifically designed to help of control skewness-prone manufacturing processes typified by a hole-drilling and/or punching process. It is more sensitive to skewness and changes in the shape of distribution. Hence the proposed incapability index is very useful for monitoring mear-normal processes where loss of capability typically lead to asymmetry.

This paper present an economic statistical design which have statistically constraints for the optimal design of an EWMA control charts with variable sampling interval. Cost function use that proposed by Lorenzen and Vance, and the optimal design parameters include the sample size, control limit width, sampling interval, EWMA weight value. Comparisons between VSI EWMA control charts optimal economic design and optimal economic statistical designs show the following fact. Although have demerits which are more costly than economic design, have merits which to detect shifts more efficiently and to improve statistical performance.
