Using each herb of Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Rehmanniae Raidx Preparat, Cnidii Rhizoma and get the dry substances after boiling combination of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & each herb and Samultang observe the degree of mixing with water and effectiveness toward pH, How much of decursion can be obtained and observe the effection to the acetylcholine chloride & barium chloride in the flask, experiment to β-Glucuronidase obstructive activity, operation trypsion obstructive activity. Apply to the mouse, and observe writhing syndrome and sleeping time, and check the effectiveness with Phenobarbital. after the experiment I made the conclusion as follows. 1. Since Rehmanniae Radix Preparat is strong acid, pH of combination with indicates very low. 2. Liquid of and Rehmanniae Radix Preparat indicate low number, others show similar result. 3. Among Angelicae Gigantis Radix's liquid the content of decurism's show combition of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Paeoniae Radix Alba show similar content, combination of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Rehmanniae Radix Preparat show 133.3% increase, combination of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Cnidii Rhizoma a show 43.3% decrease, Samultan shows 34.2% of decreasing effect. 4. effection to the acetylchloline chloride & barium chloride Operating to mouse's ilium in each Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Rehmanniae Radix Preparat, Cnidii Rhizoma and Combination of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & each herb and Samultang indicate suspression effect proportinal to its concetration. Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Paeoniae Radix Alba in the acetylchloline chloride & barium chloride show antagonistic effect proportinal to its concentration, combition of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Cnidii Rhizoma and Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Rehmanniae Radix Preparat shows antagonistic effect to the acetylchloline but antagonistic effect toward barium is considerably decreased. 5. About the combition of each herbs shows decreasing effect to its proportion concentration to β-Glucuronidase obstructive activity. especially Paeoniae Radix Alba shows very strong obstructive activity. Combination of each herb indicates obstructive activity. Combination of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Paeoniae Radix Alba shows antagonistic effect. Combination of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Cnidii Rhizoma shows synergy effect in the low concentration, antagonistic effect in the high concentration. 6. Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Rehmanniae Radix Preparat, Cnidii Rhizoma show concentration proportional Trypsin obstructive activity. Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Cnidii Rhizoma shows concentration proportional strong obstructive activity. Rehmanniae Radix Preparat has low obstructive activity. Combination of each herb indicates antagonistic effect. 7. In writhing syndrome Paeoniae Radix Alba and compound of Angelicae Gigantis Radix & Paeoniae Radix Alba and Rehmanniae Radix Preparat & Paeoniae Radix Alba and Samul-tang get considerable pain reliving effect among all the combinations. 8. Sleeping time experiment in Phentobarbital-Na, treating Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Cnidii Rhizoma shorten the sleeping time. Paeoniae Radix Alba shows little extending sleeping time. Samul-tang indicates significantly shorten the sleeping time.

It is acknowledged that Moutan cortex radicis and Corydalis tuber are contraindicated drugs of pregnancy. The present work was done to investigate the influences of Moutan cortex radicis and Corydalis tuber on pregnancy. The extracted and condenced liquid of Moutan cortex radicis and Corydalis tuber were administered to experimental animals and the influences were evaluated on pregnant maintenance, corpus lutein functions and toxic action of kidney and liver during pregnancy. The results of this work were summerized as follows: 1. For white pregnant rats, Moutan cortex radicis showed insignificant decrease of the fertilized eggs while Corydalis tuber showed insignificant increase of the fertilized eggs as the pregnant days pass by. 2. For false pregnant rabbits, Moutan cortex radicis and Corydalis tuber showed significant decrease of HCG. 3. For white pregnant rats, Moutan cortex radicis and Corydalis tuber showed insignificant decrease of GOT, GPT and ALP levels. 4. In serum of white pregnant rats, Moutan cortex radicis showed significant decrease of BUN level while Corydalis tuber showed insignificant increase. 5. In serum of white pregnant rats, Corydalis tuber showed increase of creatinine level while Moutan cortex radicis did not show changement. 6. Moutan cortex radicis and Corydalis tuber showed insignificant increase of serum uric acid and uric protein levels of white pregnant rats.
