과학 교육의 목표가 인지적 목표, 정의적 목표, 기능적 목표로 되어 있으나 인지적 목표외에는 그 개념이나 내용이 추상적이기 때문에 학습 지도면에서 소외되어 왔다. 이로 인해 평가면에서도 인지적 목표 영역에만 국한하여 정의적 목표 영역면의 평가가 경시되고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 과학과 학습의 일반 목표에도 명시된 바와 같이 과학적 태도면의 육성이 필수적으로 되어 왔다. 탐구 과정의 일부분으로서의 과학적 태도는 과학적으로 문제를 해결하고자 하는 동기를 증진시킬 뿐 아니라, 기초적인 교양 교육에 있어서도 그 중요성을 찾아볼 수 있다. 따라서 교육 전문가들은 중학교에서 길러져야 할 과학적 태도 요소들을 추출하여 체계와 시키고자 노력하였다. 본 연구는 과학적 태도 육성을 위한 평가 도구 개발에 관한 것으로서 그 내용을 요약하면 주로 과학적 태도 육성을 위한 주안점 9개 범주 즉 호기심, 정직성, 인내성, 객관성, 비판성, 정확성, 안전성, 적용성, 개방성에 대해 이들 각 범주의 세부 항목을 설정하여 모두 51개의 세목을 개발하였으며, 또 적용 연구를 위하여 중학 과학2, 단원 Ⅲ . 물질의 입자(중단원 1,2,3)에 적용할 평가 기준을 이 척도에 따라 작성하였다. 적용 연구는 학습 지도 계호기에 따라 수업 중 그 시간에 가장 두드러진 학생의 행동을 중심으로 태도를 관찰하거나 질문, 보고서, 가상문 등을 통하여 과학적 태도 평가를 실시한 후 통계·처리하였다. 이 연구가 비록 많은 개선점과 문제점을 안고 있으나 일서 교사들의 학습 지도의 방향과 평가 방법의 연구에 다소 도움이 되리라 믿는다. The objectives of education are cognitive object, affective one, an functional one. But these objectives except cognitive one have been neglected in teaching by reason of their abstraction of concept and contents. It causes the neglect of affective domain and learning too much on cognitive domain in evaluation. But it is essential to bring up the scientific attitude as seen in the general purpose of science education. scientific attitude ; a part of inquire process, is acquiring importance in fundamental education of persons as well as in the motive mover of scienticic problem solving. Therefore the authors selected the factors of scientific attitude which must be developed at the secondary school and systematized them. This study is about developing the affective evaluation instrument for bringing up of the scientific attitude. In brief, nine categories to bring up the scientific attitude ; curiosity frankness, patience, objectivity, criticism, correctness safety, application and openness. Each boundary is divided into subscales which have fiftyone items are made to be applied Middle school science, Book 2, Book 3. "A particle of matter (section 1,2,3)". The application research was carried out by taking statistics after observing the students attitude, especially the obvious one through class and checking their questions, reports and description of impressions while teaching them according to the teaching plan. I hold a firm belief that this study is helpful for teachers to find out the direction and evaluation method of guidance though it leaves much room for improvement.
