The article provides an overview of Korean and Russian scientific literature on the classification of Korean consonants, considers the problem of the Korean consonant, compares the different points of view of researchers at the problem of the existence of voiced and unvoiced consonants in the Korean language, which causes difficulties in the process of teaching the Russian language in the Korean audience. The article compares the different transcriptions of Korean consonants and the different points of view of researchers in the presence about the problem of existence the voiced-unvoiced consonants in the Korean language. An analysis of the scientific literature was revealed, that there is no single unified classification and transcription of Korean consonants. The number of Korean consonants in different classifications ranging from 18 to 31. This is due to the fact, that not all researchers recognize the voiced and half-voiced allophones of weak explosive Korean consonants ㅂ [p], ㄷ [t], ㄱ [k]; not all researchers recognize the sound [j] in the «j-diphthongs» 야 [ja], 여 [jɔ], 요 [jo], 유 [ju], 얘 [jɛ], 예 [je], 의 [ɨj] and semivowel [w] in «w-diphthongs» 와 [wa], 워 [wɔ], 위 [wi], 왜 [wɛ], 웨 [we]. There is a number of contentious issues in the Korean classifications of plosive consonants: the problem of differentiating voiced-unvoiced consonants from plain-palatalized. The presence of a number of the above-mentioned outstanding issues suggests the need to review the existing classifications of Korean consonants and create a new classification. Also it is noted that the lack of a unified classification of Korean explosive consonants leads to inconsistencies in the Korean consonant transcription systems and in the process of teaching Korean as a foreign language. The author makes an attempt to create a new classification of Korean explosive consonants taking into account the positions and three signs of the studied sounds: the presence or absence of voicing, the presence or absence of aspiration and the strength of tension.

This article is devoted to the study of the symbolic meanings of the sounds that form the basis of the structure of Andrey Bely"s novel 『The Silver Dove』. The study reveals a variety of sound modifications and sound complexes, repeated throughout the narrative, they are grouped according to color and thematic characteristics. In the study reveals the mechanisms of sound-symbolic semantification and their role in creating certain associations of the reader. Based on analysis, it is proved that having a wide range of symbolic meanings and performing several semantic functions simultaneously, the sounds in the novel play a leading role in creating the primary structure of the work. It is shown that this sound symbolic basis becomes the starting point for the subsequent development, ‘spiritualization’, images and plot of the work, which fully corresponds to the theory of ‘god-creativity’ and ‘life-creation’ of A. Bely.
