• The efficacy of immunocytochemistry in liquid-based cytology for clinical diagnosis of the morphological characteristics

( Youngjoo Na ),( Youngil Kim ),( Myoungsoo Jo ),( Kyungcheol Lee ),( Hyunim Lee ),( Dong Beom Lee ) 대한임상병리사협회 2011 조직세포검사학회 발표자료집 Vol.2011 No.-

Background : The cytological diagnosis of diverse malignancy is considered paticularly reliable and allows for the definitive diagnosis and treatment planning at the time of fine needle aspiration cytology as it is base on specific cytomorphological characteristics. In recent, immunocytochemistry seem to play an important role in order to facilitate the certain result and helps to avoid diagnostic pitfalls. Therefore, we investigated the usefulness of immunocytochemistry(IHC) and liquid-based cytology(LBC) for the clinical diagnosis. Methods : Three types of patient``s specimens were used to verify the usefulness of immunocytochemistry in LBC. The specimens were different types of pleural fluid, ascites and bronchial washing fluid, using the technique of fine neddle aspiration biopsy. The each of cells from above specimen were collected from patients contracted cervical, advanced gastric and lung cancer, respectively. After the cells sampled by brushing, the brush head was immersed into the SurePathTM vial, which is the technique used to collect SurePathTM cytology specimens. For the antibody to reveal a positive reaction, CD15, MOC31 and MSH2 were reasonably selected on each sample, and then the immunocytochemistry stains were executed by the manual method. Result : Cellular components on each sample by immunocytochemistry in liquid-based cytology reacted positively with relevant antibody. The sensitivity of LBC for detecting maglinancy were 100%. Conclusion : LBC and IHC using the technique Fine needle aspiration biopsy is safe, sensitive, and specific method of establishing tissue diagnosis in subset of patients with malignancy, in cases where sample is scarce. In conclusion, this results suggested that the efficacy of IHC in IHC is useful for diagnosis utility and prognosis factor determination that may change clinical management.

      • Saekdong fabrics of Korea shown in Silk Road Grassland

        ( Youngjoo Na ),( Jisu Kim ) 한국감성과학회 2019 한국감성과학회 국제학술대회(ICES) Vol.2019 No.-

Analyze the similarities and differences between Saekdong (色同) in Korea and Saekdong in Tibetan and Xinjiang folk costume of Silk road. Multi-color band of clothing represents their prosperity and joy in life abundant. Various colorful stripes were found in Bangjeon apron of Tibetan's costume. Bangjeon is made of wool of various colors with horizontal lines which is different to Korean Saekdong, and color combination is somewhat different for they use gradation colors and black in color stripes. And a variety of multicolored stripes band appeared in the sleeves and skirt which reminded of Korean traditional jackets and skirts with Saekdong fabrics. Goguryeo tomb wall painting showed many stripe Saekdong skirts and width of color is equal. Korean Saekdong has unique of the equal color intervals. Although there are many studies on Tibetan and Saekdong, this research on Saekdong found in silk road grassland shows cloth culture with stripes of many colors in harmony and exchanges.

      • Abuse of empire style robe to thermal insulation and body discomfort (part 2) : Focus on dress-jacket ensemble in wet condition

In order to study the effect of different materials and clothing wetting, comparison experiments were conducted in dry and wet conditions using the rinse cycle of washing machine.

      • Sound Absorption Coefficients of Micro-fiber Fabrics by Reverberation Room Method

        Na, YoungJoo,Lancaster, Jeff,Casali, John,Cho, Gilsoo Sage Publications 2007 Textile research journal Vol.77 No.5

The sound absorption properties of materials are important not only for noise reduction, but also for controlling reverberation time for speech intelligibility in rooms and for promoting fuller sound in concert halls. Industrial textiles are focusing on these materials' application for sound absorption, thus new textiles were to be examined in relation to this performance. Micro-fiber fabric has fine fibers and a high surface area and it has been used in such applications as wipers, thermal insulator, filters or breathable layers. It can be also used for sound absorption. This paper examines the possibility of using micro-fiber fabrics as sound absorbent materials. We tested the sound absorption coefficients of five micro-fiber fabrics and one regular fiber fabric by the reverberation room method. The results showed that the micro-fiber fabrics' sound absorption is superior to that of conventional fabric with the same thickness or weight, and the micro-fiber fabrics' structure was found to be important for controlling sound absorption according to sound frequency. Fabric density was found to have more effect than fabric thickness or weight on sound absorption, and the Noise Reduction Coefficient increases to its highest value at a fabric density of about 0.14 g/cm3, and it decreases thereafter.

      • Investigating the sustainability of the Korean textile and fashion industry

Na, Youngjoo,Na, Dong Kyu Emerald Group Publishing Limited 2015 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF CLOTHING SCIENCE AND TECH Vol.27 No.1

Purpose

– Fashion and textile industry has confronted to participate with the sustainable industry and society proactively not by the government regulations, but by the shareholders or consumers driven with corporate social responsibility. The purpose of this paper is to consider methods applied for the sustainability of products according to Korean domestic fashion and textile companies and clothing types and to investigate the limitation of current sustainability methods of companies.

Design/methodology/approach

– The study used document analysis and case studies of 396 companies. The study looked into newspapers, monthly magazines, and publications of fashion companies and internet web sites of almost every possible type that have been issued to date and analyzed the previous studies as well.

Findings

– The companies’ strategies are of three groups, the uses of environmental friendly materials: 36.9 percent (natural fibers, recycled fibers and biodegradable fibers), apparel reuse: 4.5 percent (remodeling/alteration and transform/combination with more materials), and eco-marketing promotions: 58.6 percent. For women’s and casual wear section, the methods used with organic materials and the green-campaign messages appeared frequently, while in the men’s wear section, coolMapsi, 0or warm OnMapsi for business wear did a lot for the low indoor energy consumption, such as no neck-tie in the hot season or wearing underwear in the cold season.

Originality/value

– Fashion and textile products have provided the key solutions for the generation’s happiness, identity, value, self-realization, health and role. There have been the low quality and similarity of fashion products from mass production and high speed and we should consider sustainability for the next generation and society. But the current problem in the industry is that most of eco-product developments are only short term. Also, from the high cost of eco materials and processes, there is a limited portion of sustainability section among total products and low design quality of fashion or the low profit outcomes.

      • Origin of the words ‘Silk and Sericin’ is ‘Silkurry of Goguryeo and Seres of Sira’

        ( Youngjoo Na ),( Jisu Kim ) 한국감성과학회 2019 한국감성과학회 국제학술대회(ICES) Vol.2019 No.-

Kyung-Geum is warp faced multiple colored weave of silk fabric with beautiful patterns and was very famous fabric of GoJoseon of East Asia in that time. JoYang(朝陽), the center of HongSan GoJoseon culture exposed the oldest swatches of Kyung-Geum, and the fact that patterns and color of Kyung-Geum were affected from jade sculptures of BalHae 渤海 Liao-Ho 遼河 civilization. Also the patterns of colorful pottery and bronze arts of GoJoseon were elucidated as the basis. The terms Sericin and Silk came from the ancient words of Suksin 肅愼 /Sira 新羅/cere 高麗 of GoJoseon ally and Silkurry(실꾸리) of Goguryeo高句麗, respectively and the fanciest silk, Kyung-Geum was developed in BC 11th C. During GoJoseon’s golden age around 9th century BC, Bukpyung北平 near Joyang had an international market and silk fabrics and Kyung- Geum were spread to Central Asia and all over the world via grassland Silk Road. GoJoseon was a developed society which was governed by law and order, the eight major laws 8條禁法, and the people led a prosperous life through hunting, fishing, trading and cultivating crops. This cultural bloom and the advanced society structure are acknowledged as the ancient BalHae GoJoseon civilization.

연구논문 : 섬유의류산업의 지속가능성 증진을 위한 의복종류별 방안 모색

        나영주 ( Youngjoo Na ),이현규 ( Hyunkyu Lee ) 한국의류산업학회 2013 한국의류산업학회지 Vol.15 No.2

Sustainable fashion & textile is more than eco fashion & textile with the concepts for the next generation`s happiness, prosumer value, and community responsibility. This study considers methods to enhance fashion and textile industry sustainability in accordance to clothing types (material, product life and washing properties) and to investigate company strategies. Company strategies are of redesign with stock, volunteering & measuring trash amount, participation by evaluation stores, clerk environment education, hiring QC specialist and reinforcing partnerships. For the case of daily innerwear, throwing away and recycling is more efficient for the environment than laundering in the consumer use stage; subsequently, we recommend the use of polypropylene fiber (a cheap and an eco-friendly material) for this item that can be recycled and reformed after use. For the case of single layer clothing (such as sportswear, blouse or pants) we recommend the use of thermoplastic materials with welding or fuse assembling technology instead of a sewing method of seams as well as the recycle design that is simply melted and reformed into new clothing without an after use dissembling process. Secondhand use or resale is suitable for denim/jean items if the clothing has a storytelling or private history tag. Lastly, module-type jacket or coat shows the variety of styles with one clothing worn w/o collar or sleeve details and changed into vest/coat; in addition, it is possible to add or partly tear off some jacket/coat fibers of the felt material to reform it into a new design.
