Severe inflammatory reactions caused by macrophage activation can trigger a systemic immune response. In the present study, we observed the anti-inflammatory properties of hispidin on LPS induced RAW264.7 macrophage cells. Our results showed that hispidin treatment significantly reduced the production of cellular NO, IL-6 and reactive oxygen species (ROS) while has not inhibitory effect on TNF-α productions. Excitingly, hispidin treatment retains the phagocytosis ability of macrophages which enabling them to perform the function of removing foreign invaders. Signaling studies showed, hispidin treatment dramatic suppressed the LPS induced mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPK) and JAK/STAT activations. In conclusion, our findings suggest that hispidin may be a new therapeutic target for clinical treatment of macrophages-mediated inflammatory responses.

In this study, we performed RNA sequencing of Prx II +/+ and Prx II −/− dermal mesenchymal stem cells (DMSCs) to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs). To explore the role of Prx II in DMSCs, we performed Gene Ontology analysis of the DEGs. The results showed that the DEGs were mainly involved in the biological processes of cell migration, intercellular adhesion, and coordination of the regulation of stem cell homing. Through the construction of protein–protein interaction network, four hub genes Cd274 , Ccl5 , Il1b , and Stat1 involved in cell adhesion and cell homing were screened. Quantitative reverse transcription PCR analysis showed that Cd274 , Ccl5 , Il1b , and Stat1 were down regulated in Prx II −/− DMSCs. miRwalk and Starbase databases were further used to screen the upstream molecules miRNA and lncRNA regulating hub gene. Prx II was found to be involved in the regulation of stem cell homing via the Tctn2/miR-351/Stat1/Il1b axis. Thus, we demonstrated that Prx II is a key molecule in the regulation of the homing ability of DMSCs. Our results provide a theoretical foundation for improving the homing ability of DMSCs by targeting Prx II.

This paper analyzes the relationships between stock market indexes by industries and macroeconomic variables such as international oil price (WTI), consumer price index (CPI), interest rate (IR) and industrial production (IP) by VECM. The main outcomes based on cointergration test show that there exists cointergration in all variables excluding telecommunication industry in non-durable goods markets, which means that there exist long-run equilibrium relations between the corresponding variables. The results of VECM represent that the variables in durable goods markets are more sensitive than those in non-durable goods markets, and the IR turns out the most influential variable in the VECM outcomes. This result coincides with the fact that sectoral-industrial return can be reduced due to the decreased liquidity in the market if IR increases.

In this study, we used RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) to analyze and compare bulk cell samples from wild-type (WT) dermal mesenchymal stem cells (DMSCs) (n = 3) and Prx II knockout DMSCs (n = 3). The purpose of the study was to elucidate the role of Prx II on allogeneic immune rejection of transplanted DMSCs. The results revealed differential expression of 472 genes (176 up-regulated and 296 down-regulated; p ≤ 0.05) between the PrxII+/+ (WT) and PrxII−/− sample groups. When highly regulated genes were categorized according to the Gene Ontology (GO) molecular function classification and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis, the PrxII−/− samples showed a robust downward trend in allograft rejection. The study identified 43 all immunologically rejected differentially expressed genes, of which 41 showed lower expression in the PrxII−/− vs. PrxII+/+ (WT) samples. These findings suggest that Prx II gene knockout may down-regulate the allograft rejection that occurs during DMSCs transplantation and improve the survival rate of DMSCs in the host. This study provides a new perspective on the clinical treatment of stem cell transplantation.
MUTYH Association with Esophageal Adenocarcinoma in a Han Chinese Population
Kong, Feng,Han, Xue-Ying,Luan, Yun,Qi, Tong-Gang,Sun, Chao,Wang, Jue,Hou, Hua-Ying,Jiang, Yu-Hua,Zhao, Jing-Jie,Cheng, Guang-Hui Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.11
Adenocarcinoma of esophagus (AE) is a complex disease, affected by a variety of genetic and environmental factors. Much evidence has shown that the MutY glycosylase homologue (MUTYH) plays a key role in the pathogenesis of many cancers. However, there have been no reports on influence on AE in the Han Chinese population. The objective of this study was to investigate this issue. A gene-based association study was conducted using three single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) reported in previous studies. The three SNPs (rs3219463, rs3219472, rs3219489) were genotyped in 207 unrelated AE patients and 249 healthy controls in a case-control study using polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). The results revealed that the genotype distribution of rs3219472 differed between the case and control groups (OR=1.66,95%CI=1.11-2.48, P=0.012), indicating that an association may exist between MUTYH and AE. These findings support a signifcant role for MUTYH in AE pathogenesis in the Han Chinese population.

Han-Ying Liang,Dong-Xia Zhang,Jong-Il Baek 대한수학회 2004 대한수학회지 Vol.41 No.5
We discuss in this paper the strong convergence for weighted sums of negative associated (in abbreviation: NA) arrays. Meanwhile, the central limit theorem for weighted sums of NA variables and linear process based on NA variables is also considered. As corollary, we get the results on iid of Li et al. ([10]) in NA setting.

Consider the nonparametric regression model Yni = g(xni)+ ∈ni (1 ≤ i ≤ n), where g(·) is an unknown regression function, xni are known fixed design points, and the correlated errors {∈ni, 1 ≤ i ≤ n} have the same distribution as {Vi, 1 ≤ i ≤ n}, here Vt = [수식] with [수식] and {et} are negatively associated random variables. Under appropriate conditions, we derive a Berry-Esseen type bound for the estimator of g(·). As corollary, by choice of the weights, the Berry- Esseen type bound can attain O(n−¹/⁴(log n)³/⁴). Fenofibrate Reduces Age-related Hypercholesterolemia in Normal Rats on a Standard Diet
Han, Ying,Do, Mi-Hyang,Kim, Mi-Sun,Seo, Eun-Hui,Park, Mi-Kyoung,Kim, Duk Kyu,Lee, Hye-Jeong,Seo, Su-Yeong The Korean Society of Pharmacology 2010 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.14 No.2
Plasma cholesterol is increased in normal aging in both rodents and humans. This is associated with reduced elimination of cholesterol and decreased receptor-mediated clearance of plasma low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. The aims of this study were: (1) to determine age-related changes in plasma lipid profiles, and (2) to determine the effect of fenofibrate, an activator of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha (PPAR $\alpha$), on plasma lipid profiles in normal rats on a standard diet. Male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats (n=15) were fed standard chow and water from 10 to 25 weeks of age. During that period, we measured daily food intake, body weight, fasting and random blood glucose levels, plasma total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), and free fatty acid (FFA) levels. At 20 weeks of age, all rats were randomly divided into two groups: a fenofibrate group (in which rats were gavaged with 300 mg/kg/day of fenofibrate) and a control group (gavaged with water). Fenofibrate treatment lasted 5 weeks. There were no significant changes in daily food intake, blood glucose, and plasma TG level with age. Body weight, plasma TC, and FFA levels were significantly increased with age. Fenofibrate significantly decreased plasma concentrations of TC and FFA, which had been increased with age. However, fenofibrate did not influence the plasma concentration of TG, which had not increased with age. These results suggest that fenofibrate might have a novel role in preventing age-related hypercholesterolemia in SD rats on a normal diet.
