        Effects of a newborn care education program using ubiquitous learning on exclusive breastfeeding and maternal role confidence of first-time mothers in Vietnam: a quasi-experimental study

        Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effect of a newborn care education program using ubiquitous learning (UL-NCEP) on exclusive breastfeeding and maternal role confidence of first-time mothers in Vietnam. Methods: This quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design was conducted at a university hospital in Hue city, Vietnam, between June and July 2018. Eligible first-time mothers were conveniently allocated to the experimental (n=27) and the control group (n=25). Mothers in the control group received only routine care, whereas mothers in the experimental group received UL-NCEP through tablet personal computers in addition to routine care in the hospital. Then, the educational content was provided to mothers by their smartphone for reviewing at home. UL-NCEP was developed based on the World Health Organization’s “Essential Newborn Care Course” guidelines. The exclusive breastfeeding rate and maternal role confidence level after birth and at 4 weeks postpartum were assessed in both groups to assess the effect of UL-NCEP. Results: At 4 weeks postpartum, the experimental group showed a significantly higher level than the control, for exclusive breastfeeding rate (p<.05) as well as mean maternal role confidence (p<.05). Conclusion: UL-NCEP was a feasible and effective intervention in increasing first-time Vietnamese mothers’ exclusive breastfeeding rate and maternal role confidence level. This program may be integrated into routine care for postpartum mothers to promote mother and infant health among first-time mothers in Vietnam.

        The Role of Zn Doping on the Catalytic Activity of the Nanoparticle Perovskite La0.7Sr0.3MnO3

        The nanometer complex oxide La0:7Sr0.3Mn0.6Zn0.₄O₃ was prepared by using a Sol-Gel method with citric acid as a ligand. The in uence of Zn doping of La0.7Sr0.₃MnO₃ on the structure, the morphology, the surface properties and on the catalytic activity of material was studied by using X-ray diraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), a high-resolution images and selected area electron diraction (SAED), physical adsorption and temperature programmed surface reaction (TPSR) methods. The results showed that perovskite La0:7Sr0:3Mn0:6.         Preparation of Gold Nanoparticles, Au/Fe2O3 by Using a Co-Precipitation Method and their Catalytic Activity

      • Rural Communication in the Covid-19 Pandemic: an Empirical Analysis from Thua Thien Hue Province, Central Vietnam

        The world has witnessed the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic. Mainstream and social media are playing an important role in Covid-19 pandemic prevention. This research explores awareness, communication channels and effectiveness of communication in the Covid-19 pandemic in rural areas of Thua Thien Hue province, Central Vietnam. Primary information was collected from 181 respondents, who are farmers, non-farmers and students. Secondary information was collected from reports and statistical data. Television, word of mouth and local loudspeakers are the main channels of mainstream media while social media mentions the role of Facebook and Zalo to transfer Covid-19 pandemic information. Mainstream media is still the main channel of farmers and old people while non-farmers and young people tend to access information through social media. Communication has significantly contributed to improving awareness and action of rural people in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention.

      • Personality, Behavior, and Performance of Platform Workers: Evidence from Vietnam

        Purpose - Based on personality - job fit theory (Kristof-Brown, 2006) and social exchange theory (Blau, 2017) we explaine evidence of the relationship between proactive personality, proactive feedback seeking behavior, and the job performance of platform workers. We also examine the moderating role of perceived organizational support in relationship between proactive personality and feedback seeking behavior and job autonomy as a moderating role between the proactive feedback seeking behavior and job performance of platform workers. Design/Methodology/Approach - This study follows structural equation modeling following a partial least square method on a sample group of 171 platform workers selected by convenient random sampling techniques and analyzed by SmarlPLS 4.0 to test research hypotheses. Findings - Research findings show that proactive personality plays an important role in promoting proactive behavior seeking feedback and job performance, and affirms the positive moderating role of perceived platform support between feedback seeking behavior and proactive personality. The study also confirmed that proactive feedback seeking behavior has a direct and indirect impact on the performance of platform workers, and this relationship is further strengthened in conditions of highly autonomous work. Research Implications - Some implications of human resource management on digital labor platforms are also proposed to improve the efficiency of human resource management.

        The taxonomy of the genus Asclepios Distant (Heteroptera, Gerromorpha, Gerridae), with description of a new species from Vietnam

        The taxonomy of Asclepios species is revised. Asclepios shiranui (Esaki, 1924), A. coreanus Esaki, 1930, and A. coreanus miyamotoi Esaki, 1937 are all determined to be junior synonyms of Asclepios apicalis (Esaki, 1924). A new species, Asclepios esakii sp. nov. from northern Vietnam, is described. Because Ascleopios apicalis and A. esakii sp. nov. co-exist in some localities, comparative characters for separating female specimens of two species are established. The revised key to species of Asclepios is also provided. Asclepios annandalei Distant, 1915 is reported from Vietnam for the first time; and the occurrence of A. apicalis (Esaki, 1924) is also updated.         Crowdshippers’ intentions to continue participating in last-mile delivery: A study in Vietnam

        The growth of last-mile delivery in developing countries is featuring the important contribution of crowdshippers. Therefore, exploring the factors affecting the intentions to stay in jobs of the crowdshippers is of great significance to maintain and sustainably develop the last-mile delivery service. Based on the Social Exchange Theory, we hypothesize that benefits (economic benefits, professional reputation, and job autonomy) and costs (risks and stress at work) have an effect on crowdshippers’ intentions to continue participating in last-mile delivery service in Vietnam. We also look for differences in motivations to stay in job between full-time and part-time workers. Survey data from 428 crowdshippers were analyzed using SmartPLS. The research findings indicate that economic benefits and work autonomy (benefits) have positive influences on intention to continue participating in crowd logistics, while risks and job stress (cost) have negative effects on the intention of crowsdhippers to continue their work. In addition, research findings also uncover that differences in motivation (perception of benefits and costs) to stay in job between full-time and part-time workers also affect their intentions. Although reputation did not show a significant impact on the crowdshippers’ intentions to continue participating in crowd logistics, it was discovered that reputation has a positive effect on full-time crowdshippers’ intentions to continue working. Based on the findings of this study, we recommend that businesses increase benefits and reduce costs in job to sustain and increase the continued participation in last-mile delivery.

        Camellia tuyenquangensis (Theaceae), a new species from Vietnam

        Camellia tuyenquangensis (Theaceae), a new yellow species of camellia from the Chiem Hoa district of the Tuyen Quang province in Vietnam, is described and illustrated. Camellia tuyenquangensis is similar to Camellia luongii but different from the latter species in several morphological features: leaves oblong-ovate to narrow elliptic; flowers 1–2; bracteoles glabrous on both sides; sepal margins ciliate; style cleft one half of the length. The morphological data provisionally support its placement in Camellia sect. Chrysantha Chang.

        Facile synthesis of MoS2 nanosheets-carbon nanofibers composite as catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction

        MoS2 nanosheets (NS) were directly grown on carbon nanofiber (CF) and employed as electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolutionreaction (HER). The structural, surface morphology and chemical composition of the nanocomposites were characterized byfield emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), energydispersiveX-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectroscopy. XRD and TEM-EDS measurementsshowed that the molybdenum oxide precursor was successfully transferred into MoS2 nanosheets. It was confirmed from FESEMand TEM images that NS was uniformly distribution on surface of the CF. The HR-TEM images disclosed that the NSwas formed perpendicular to surface of CF fibers via the MoS2 layers growth parallel to CF surface which act as interface. The HER current density was about 12 mA cm−2 at catalyst loading of only 60 μg cm−2 at -0.384 V (vs. RHE).

        Improvement of Anthocyanin Encapsulation Efficiency into Yeast Cell by Plasmolysis, Ethanol, and Anthocyanin Concentration Using Response Surface Methodology

        Anthocyanins are antioxidant compounds susceptible to environmental factors. Anthocyanin encapsulation into yeast cells is a viable solution to overcome this problem. In this study, the optimal factors for anthocyanin encapsulation were investigated, including anthocyanin concentration, plasmolysis contraction agent, and ethanol concentration, and response surface methodology was evaluated, for the first time. Anthocyanin from Hibiscus sabdariffa L. flowers was encapsulated into Saccharomyces cerevisiae using plasmolysis contraction agent (B: 3%-20% w/v), ethanol concentration (C: 3%-20% v/v), and anthocyanin concentration (A: 0.15-0.45 g/ml). The encapsulation yield and anthocyanin loss rate were determined using a spectrometer (520 nm), and color stability evaluation of the capsules was performed at 80℃ for 30 min. The results of the study showed that these factors have a significant impact on the encapsulation of anthocyanin, in which ethanol agents have the highest encapsulation yield compared to other factors in the study. Statistical analysis shows that the independent variables (A, B, C), their squares (A<sup>2</sup>, B<sup>2</sup>, C<sup>2</sup>), and the interaction between B and C have a significant effect on the encapsulation yield. The optimized factors were anthocyanin, 0.25 g/ml; NaCl, 9.5% (w/v); and ethanol, 11% (v/v) with an encapsulation yield of 36.56% ± 0.55% and anthocyanin loss rate of 15.15% ± 0.98%; This is consistent with the expected encapsulation yield of 35.46% and loss rate of 13.2%.
