JENB., Vol. 18, No. 2, pp.141-149,2014 [Purpose]Many researchers are trying to solve the metabolic syndrome by utilizing a variety of nutritional control and exercise. Of those, silkworm pupae peptides are known to inhibit the synthesis of fat. Therefore, we examine the effect of fat metabolism by supplying silkworm pupae (SP) for 5-week in swim-trained rats. [Methods]Animals were divided into four groups as a group (n = 32) fed a normal diet (CO) with exercise training (CE); a group fed a silkworm pupa diet (SPC) with an exercise training (SPE), respectively. [Results]Abdominal fat pads (abdominal and epididymal) weight were lowest in SPE. The serum triglyceride, total cholesterol concentrations were lower in the SP and the SPE. HDL-cholesterol, however, was not different between groups. Liver AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) was increased in the CE and the SPE. Liver PPAR-α (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha) was increased in the SPC and SPE. L-FABP (liver fatty acids binding protein) was increasedby SP ingestion. Liver CPT-1 (carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1) protein expression was increased by exercise training only. [Conclusion]In the present study showed that the silkworm pupae intake and/or swimming exercise training activates fat metabolism to reducethe concentration of serum lipids. Thus, the silkworm pupae intake leads to a reduction in fat storage, this is considered to be effective in the inhibition of the metabolic syndrome. 자동영상추적장치를 이용한 카드뮴 처리 Oryzias latipes의 행위독성연구

Changes in certain fish behaviors are known to be very sensitive indicators of sublethal exposure to environmental contaminants. Therefore, behavioral toxicity tests, if properly designed, can be very useful to assess the influence of hazardous chemicals on fish. However, quantitative analysis of xenobiotic -mediated changes in locomotor behavior in fishes are rare, due mainly to the methodological difficulties. In general, fish movement has been known to be hypertrophic or hypotrophic according to the chemicals. As a study of fish behavioral toxicities, we quatified the swimming movement of Orydas latipes using computer-automated video tracking system. Oryzias latipes was exposed to cadmium of 128 mg/L for 1 hour in a limited aquaria, then the total swimming distance, the average swimming velocity, the histogram of turning angles, and the turning frequency were analyzed. Fish treated with cadmium showed decreased swimming activities, decreased velocity, and decreased turning frequency, which means hypotrophic activity. From these results, the computer-automated video tracking system of this study seems to be a good tool for the evaluation of the potential ecotoxicological studies.
SDP의 개관 : 쌍대성, 계산복잡성 및 응용 SDP, Its Duality, Complexity and Applications

SDP (Semidefinite Programming), as a sort of "cone-LP", optimizes a linear function over the intersection of an affine space and a cone that has the origin as its apex. SDP, however, has been developed in the process of searching for better solution methods for NP-hard combinatorial optimization problems. We surveyed the basic theories necessary to understand SDP researches. First, we examined SDP duality, comparing. It to LP duality, which is essential for the interior point method. Second, we showed that SDP can be optimized from an interior solution in polynomial time with a desired error limit. Finally, we summarized several research papers that showed SDP can improve solution methods for some combinatorial optimization problems, and explained why SDP has become one of the most important research topics in optimization. We tried to integrate SDP theorles, relatively diverse and complicated, to survey research papers with our own perspective, and thus to help researchers to pursue their SDP researches in depth.

Distortion Minimized of Input Current for Single-Phase Buck-Boost Rectifier is studied in the paper. To sinusoidal waveform the input current with a near-unity power factor over a wide variety of operating conditions, the output capacitor is operated with voltage reversibility for the supply by arranging the auxiliary diode and power switching device. Then the output voltage is superposed on the input voltage during on time duration of power switching devices in order to minimize the input current distortion caused by the small input voltage when changing the polarity. The tested setup, using two insulated-gate bipolar transistors(IGBT) and a microcomputer, is implemented and IGBT are switched with 20[kHz]. which is out of the audible band. Moreover a rigorous state-space analysis is introduced to predict the operation of the rectifier. The experimental and simulated results confirm that the input current can be sinusoidal waveform with a near-unity power factor and a satisfactory output voltage regulation can be achieved.
표정인식을 위한 PCA와 템플릿 정합을 사용한 얼굴 요소 추출

This paper proposed an extracting algorithm of human facial components for the recognition of facial expressions. First face image is acquired using the Haar-like feature mask from an input image. The face image is divided into two images. One is the upper image including eye and eyebrow. The other is the lower image including mouth and jaw. The extraction of facial components, such as eye and mouth, begins getting eye image and mouth image. Then eigenfaces are produced by the PCA training process with learning images. An eigeneye and an eigenmouth are produced from eigenfaces. Result eye image is obtained by template matching the upper image with the eigeneye, and the mouth image is obtained by template matching the lower image with the eigenmouth. The simulation results show that the proposed method has superior extraction ratio than previous method.
