Objectives:This study is conducted to investigate the effect of Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) symptoms on stress and suicide idea among 224 conscripts. Methods:Total number of subject is 224 conscripts. We evaluate symptoms of adult ADHD with Korean-Wender Utah rating scale(K-WURS) and Korean adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder scale(K-AADHDS), stress with Brief Encounter Psychosocial Instrument-K(BEPSI-K), suicide idea with Scale for suicide ideation(SSI) after basic military training. Multivariate logistic analysis with backward stepwise selection is performed to evaluate risk factors of stress. Multiple linear regression analysis with stepwise selection is performed to evaluate association of suicide idea with adult ADHD symptoms. Results:Stress is significantly associated with K-WURS score, K-AADHDS score and SSI score(p<0.01, p<0.05, p<0.01). K-WURS score are significant risk factor of stress after basic military training(p<0.05, O.R : 1.034, 95% CI : 1.005-1.065). And K-WURS score influence suicide idea after basic military training(p<0.05, β : 0.031). Conclusion:The result suggests that K-WURS score might be a risk factor of stress and could affect suicide idea.

Statistical matching is a methodology used to merge microdata from two (or more) files into a single matched file, the variants of which have been extensively studied. Among existing studies, we focused on Moriarity and Scheuren's (2001) method, which is a representative method of statistical matching for continuous data. We examined this method and proposed a revision to it by using a robust approach in the regression step of the procedure. We evaluated the efficiency of our revised method through simulation studies using both simulated and real data, which showed that the proposed method has distinct advantages over existing alternatives.

Modeling and Implementation of Context based Annotation for XML Documents

This paper proposed context based annotation model and annotation ambiguity correction methods. The proposed model provides various annotation types, semantic models, and pen-based free drawing interface. Annotation correction method that is specifically based on the context which includes various textual and structure information between free-form marking and annotation. Also, interface for XML environment using the proposed model and correction methods is proposed and possibilities of application is looked at. The results from the implementation of the proposed method show that the annotated areas included in the free-form marking information are more accurate, achieving more accurate exchange results amongst multiple users in a heterogeneous document environment

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GIST) represent a heterogeneous group of mesenchymal neoplasms that is composed of an immature proliferation of spindle or epithelioid cells arising from the muscle layer of the gastrointestinal tract. They can be categorized into followings by light microscopic, ultrastructural, and immunohistochemical features: myogenic GIST (leiomyoma), neurogenic GIST (schwannoma), gastrointestinal autonomic nerve tumor (GANT), and gastrointestinal stromal tumor not otherwise specified (GIST-NOS), the latter being most common. Although the presence of a high mitotic count is generally accepted as the best indicator of malignancy, their clinical behavior is notoriously unpredictable. Thieir most common site of metastasis is the liver. However, multiple cystic metastasis to the liver is very rare. We report a case of gastric stromal tumor with unusual multiple cystic metastasis on the liver in a 63 year-old man. The tumor showed neither neural nor myogenic differentiation in immunohistochemical study, but CD34 positive.
Proteomic Analysis of Rat Brains Following Exposure to Electroconvulsive Therapy

<P>Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is one of the most effective treatments used in psychiatry to date. The mechanisms of ECT action, however, are the least understood and still unclear. As a tool to elucidate the mechanisms of action of ECT, we employed proteomic analysis based on the identification of differentially expressed proteins after exposure to repeated ECT in rat brains. The expression of proteins was visualized by silver stain after two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Of 24 differentially expressed protein spots (<I>p</I><0.05 by Student t-test), six different proteins from 7 spots were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of flight (MALDI-TOF)/mass spectrometry. Among the identified proteins, there were five dominantly expressed proteins in the ECT-treated rat brain tissues (<I>p</I><0.05); S100 protein beta chain, 14-3-3 protein zeta/delta, similar to ubiquitin-like 1 (sentrin) activating enzyme subunit 1, suppressor of G2 allele of SKP1 homolog, and phosphatidylinositol transfer protein alpha. The expression of only one protein, ACY1 protein, was repressed (<I>p</I><0.05). These findings likely serve for a better understanding of mechanisms involved in the therapeutic effects of ECT.</P>

본 연구에서는 자기공명영상을 이용하여 20대와 40대 정상 한국인 뇌실의 표준 부피를 계측하고 연령과 성별에 따른 뇌실 부피의 차이를 알아보고자 하였다. 20대 118명(남자 58명, 여자 60명)과 40대 100명(남자 41명, 여자 59명) 총 218명을 대상으로 MR 뇌 영상을 획득하였다. 횡단면, 시상면, 관상면 세 단면 각각에 대해 자동과 수동의 방법을 병행하여 뇌실 부분을 분리하고 부피를 계측하였다. 연령과 성별에 따른 차이와 연령과 성별의 상호 작용 효과를 관찰하기 위해, 연령(2수준)과 성별(2수준)을 독립변인으로 한 이원 변량분석(twoway ANOVA)을 이용하여 통계처리를 수행하였다. 20대 한국인의 평균 뇌실 부피는 16.2 [cm3]이었고, 40대는 평균 23.1 [cm3]이었다. 20대와 40대 한국인 남자의 평균 뇌실 부피는 21.9 [cm3]이었고, 여자는 17.5 [cm3]이었다. 20대에 비해 40대가, 여자에 비해 남자의 뇌실 부피가 유의하게 컸다. 또한 연령이 증가할수록 남자의 뇌실 부피 증가가 여자에 비해 유의하게 컸다. 결론적으로 20대와 40대 정상 한국인의 뇌실 부피 계측 결과 연령과 성별에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었고 연령에 따른 뇌실부피 증가는 여자에 비해 남자가 더 컸다. The purpose of this study is to measure the standard volume of the ventricle of normal Koreans in their 20s and 40s and find out difference in the volume of the ventricle according to age and gender. We collected MR brain images from 118 people in their 20s (male 58, female 60) and 100 people in their 40s (male 41, female 59), so a total of 218 people. For each of sagittal, coronal and axial sections, the ventricular part was segmented using automatic and manual methods, and the volume was measured. In order to observe difference according to age and gender and to observe the interactive effect between age and gender, two-way ANOVA was carried out using age (2 levels) and gender (2 levels) as independent variables. The average volume of the ventricle of Koreans in their 20 s was 16.2 [cm3] and that of Koreans in their 40s was 23.1[cm3]. The average volume of the ventricle of male Koreans in their 20s and 40s was 21.9[cm3] and that of female Koreans was 17.5 [cm3]. The volume of the ventricle was significantly larger in Koreans in their 40s than those in their 20s, and in male Koreans than in female ones. Moreover, the increase of the volume of the ventricle with age was significantly larger in male Koreans than in female ones. According to the results of measuring the volume of the ventricle of normal Koreans in their 20s and 40s, the volume was significantly different according to age and gender, and the increase of the volume of the ventricle with age was significantly larger in men than in women.

<P>The purpose of the present study is to develop a magnetic resonance (MR)-compatible electrocardiogram (ECG) amplifier. If ECG signals are measured simultaneously with the acquisition of MR images, there can be a mutual interference effect. The present system was designed to block noises caused by the main magnetic field, gradient magnetic field and radiofrequency (RF) pulse when MR images are acquired. It uses analogue elements in order to remove any possible effect on MR images. In addition, a radio-frequency-interference (RFI)-free optical data link using the pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique is adopted in order to transmit ECG signals measured inside the MR room.</P>
