        Afferent loop syndrome is an uncommon complication of a gastrectomy and Billroth Ⅱ reconstruction. It may cause symtoms at any time from the first postoperative day to many years after the gastrectomy. Afferent loop syndrome is characterized by abdominal pain, vomiting and elevation of serum amylase. Thus, it is difficult to differentiate afferent loop syndrome from other cause of acute pancreatitis. However, the history of gastrectomy can be an important clue for diagnosing afferent loop syndrome. We experienced one case of chronic afferent loop syndrome with acute pancreatitis. After appropriate management, the abdominal pain disappeared and serum amylase level decreased. We report this case with a review of relevant literatures.

      • NaCl에 대한 콩 품종간의 생리학적 반응 차이

        염분조건에서 콩의 피해정도 또는 피해과정 등 생리적 특성과 내성 및 감수성 품종간의 반응차이를 구명하여 내염성 연구의 기초자료로 활용하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 감수성 및 내성 품종으로 선발된 두 품종간에 60mM의 염분처리에 따른 생장 및 상대생장율 반응, 잎의 해부학적 관찰, 광합성 및 호흡량, proline 축적 및 nitrate reductase와 peroxidase 활성 등의 반응특성을 비교한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 내성품종 Lee는 무염처리에 비해 초장이 19% 감소한데 반해 감수성 품종 Jackson은 40% 감소하여 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 다육질의 정도는 내성품종이 무처리에 비해 58% 증가하였으나 감수성 품종은 오히려 21%가 감소하였고 감수성 품종의 생체중, 건물증, 수분함량의 감소가 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 상대생장율(RGR)과 순동화율(NAR)의 경우 내성품종은 염분처리에 의해 오히려 증가한 경향이었으나 총 건물증에 대한 엽면적 비율(LAR)과 개체생장율(CGR)은 감소하였다. 한편 감수성 품종은 조사된 모든 생장율이 감소하는 경향이 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 염분처리로 잎의 두께는 내성품종이 11% 증가한 반면 감수성 품종은 30% 정도 감소되었는데 이는 다즙질화로 인한 엽육세포의 두께 변화와 관련이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 광합성 정도는 내성품종에서 무처리와 유사하였으나 감수성 품종은 무처리에 비해 14% 감소하였고 호흡량에 있어서는 두 품종 모두 증가되어 각각 11과 8% 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며 두 품종 모두 O2생산비율보다 O2소모비율이 높게 나타났다. 염분처리에 따른 proline 축적량은 무처리에 대비하여 내성품종은 64% 증가하였으나 감수성 품종은 200% 증가하였다. Nitrate reductase의 활성은 염분처리로 인해 내성 품종이 114% 증가하는 반면 감수성 품종은 반대로 37% 감소하였으며 peroxidae 활성은 내서 및 감수성 품종 모두 각각 56, 50% 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 지상부의 생육, 상대생장율, 엽육세포의 두께, 광합성 및 호흡량, proline 축적량, nitrate reductase와 peroxidase활성은 콩의 염해 및 내염성 연구에 중요한 지표가 될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. Salt tolerance of soybean is highly dependent on cultivar as well as cultural condition. The objective of this study was to determine difference in parameters of physiological responses between NaCl-tolerant and NaCl-susceptible cultivars selected from a bioassay. Tolerant cultivar "Lee" and susceptible cultivar 'Jackson' soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivars were grown in hydroponic system and treated with NaCl solutions of 0 and 60mM, corresponding to electric conductivity of 1.2 and 7.3 dS/m, respectively, 20days after emergence. NaCl at 60mM inhibited plant lengths of tolerant and susceptible soybean cultivars by 19% and 40%, respectively. NaCl enhanced leaf succulence of tolerant cultivar by 58%. while it decreased that of susceptible cultivar by 21%. With NaCl treatment, fresh and dry weight, and water content of leaves in susceptible cultivar were more decreased than those of tolerant cultivar. Relative growth rate (RGR) and net assimilation rate (NAR) of tolerant cultivar were increased by NaCl treatment, while RGR and NAR of susceptible cultivar were clearly reduced. Total leaf thickness of tolerant soybean cultivar was significantly enhanced up to 11% by NaCl treatment due to expanding mesophyll cells. However. NaCl reduced leaf thickness of susceptible cultivar by 30 8. Photosynthesis rate of tolerant cultivar by NaCl treatment was not affected, however that of susceptible cultivar was reduced by 14% as compared to control. Respiration of both cultivars was increased up to 11 and 8%, respectively. Free-proline content of leaf by NaCl treatment was increased by 64% in the tolerant cultivar and 200% in the susceptible. respectively. NaCl of 60 mM also increased nitrate reductase and peroxidase activities of tolerant cultivar by 114% and 56%. respectively, while it reduced nitrate reductase activity of susceptible cultivar by 37%. The results suggested that the physiological data can use as parameters for salt stress or salt tolerance test to improve sensitivity in screening program.

      • GPS/INS를 활용한 항공 정사영상 제작에 관한 연구

        In this study we took the aerial photos scaled 1:5,000 with aircraft equipped GPS/INS. DEM was generated by automatic image matching method using the exterior orientation parameters obtained by GPS/INS, and the ortho-images were produced by differential rectification based on that. As the result of measurement of RMSE based on digital map for ortho-images produced with GPS/INS data, the horizontal position error was 61cm that was good enough to satisfy the precision demand of 1:1,000 ortho-image map. There were no big differences in precision of ortho-images between GPS/INS and aerial triangulation process. It seems that the producing method of ortho-image using GPS/INS data can be speedier and more efficient method than traditional method using aerial triangulation

        The method of manipulation by striking a part and letting it slide until it comes to rest, has been very little studied. However, the manipulation method is not uncommon in our daily lives. We analyze the dynamic behavior of a rigid polygonal part being striked and sliding on a horizontal surface under the action of friction. There are two parts to this problem; one is the impact problem, and the other is the sliding problem. We characterize the impact and sliding dynamics with friction for polygonal parts, and present the possibility of reverse calculation for motion planning of striking operations. Using a high speed video camera. the computer simulation results are experimentally verified. Simulation and experimental results agree well.

      • Al₂O₃-TiO₂ 복합체의 기계적 및 열적 특성에 미치는 MgO의 첨가효과

        Aluminum titanate(Al₂O₃TiO₂ ) was known to low thermal expansions over wide temperature ranges, but showed poor mechanical properties. The present studies have been concerned with the thermal and mechanical properties of aluminum titanate based on the ceramics containing MgO. The addition of MgO powder to Al₂O₃-TiO₂ inhibited the grain growth and this result can be increased sintering density and vickers hardnes s. The thermal expansion of Al₂TiO_(5) increased with the addition of MgO and also increased with temperature up to 1000℃, however, it decreased in the temperature range between 1000℃ and 1200℃ during heating. The test of thermal shock showed that the addition of 10 wt% MgO generated macrocrack of 25%.

      • 천연두 백신 접종 후 발생된 급성 심근염 1예

        Acute myocarditis complicating coronary vasospasm after smallpox vaccination is very rare complication that can be generally developed within less than 30 days after vaccination. Clinically and biochemically, this disorder is often mimic and highly suggestive of acute myocardial infarction. We report 21 years old man that had a history of a smallpox vaccination 3 weeks ago and prodromal symptoms(fever, malaise etc) a few days ago. hIe visited to our hospital because of abrupt onset of severe substernal chest pain, dyspnea and diaphoresis. At admission, electrocardiography was ST elevation in lead Ⅰ, aVL, V4, V5, and V6. The CK-MB level was 68 U/L, LDH level was 760 U/L, Troponin-Ⅰ was 24.64 ng/㎖, and Troponin-T was positive. 2D-echocardiograpy was normal left ventricular function, Clinically we presumed this disorder as acute myocardial infarction and we promptly performed the coronary angiography and revealed focal spasm in distal left coronary artery territory without critical stenosis in both coronary arteries. We diagnosed this disorder as coronary vasospam complicating acute myocarditis that is different with acute myocardial infarction, and we prescribed nitroglycerin and nifedipine. After discharge, he is now well without any symptoms and has been following up monthly at our outward department for 6 months.

      • Escherichia coli에서 SAM synthetase 유전자들의 클로닝 및 발현

        SAM synthetase는 methionine을 전구체로하여 세포 내의 메칠기 (CH_(3-)) 제공자인 S- adenosylmethioine(SAM)을 합성하는 효소이다. Corynebacterium glutamicum, C. ammoniagenes 및 Saccharomyces cerevisiae의 SAM syntheetase를 인코딩하는 유전들을 pfu DNA 종합효소로 증폭하여, 발현 벡터인 pT7-7에 삽입한 후에 Escherichia coli BL2(DE3)로 형질전환하였다. 형질전환체로부터 IPTG에 발현되어진 약 43 kDa의 SAM synthetase를 SDS-PAGE를 이용하여 확인하였다. SAM synthetase is an enzyme that synthesizes S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) from methionine as precursor. Genes encoding SAM synthetases from Corynebacterium glutamicum, C. arrononiagenes and Saccharomyces cerevisiae were amplified by PCR with pfu DNA polymerase, subsequently inserted into the expression vector pT7~7, and transformed to the Escherichia coli BL2KDE3) strain. Transformants were cultured, induced by IPTG and their crude extracts were subject to SDSᅳPAGE. About 43 kDa highly-expressed protein bands were observed.
