Superplastic materials have a characteristics to undergo large uniform strain prior to failure. Superplasticity usually indicates that elongation to failure in the uni-axial tension is above 200%. There are several superplastic materials to be elongated up to 1000%. The microstructures were evaluated with temperature changes just before superplastic deformation in static recrystallization experiments, and it was found that amount of recrystallization was small below 425℃ and grain coarsening occured above 475℃ as ZrAl₃precipitation lost in inhibiting ability grain coarsening. Therefore optimum superplastic forming temperature proved 450℃. Optimum strain rate sensibility at superplastic tensile test was ?? reasonable.

Leuprolide acetate is a potent luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogue [leuprorelin, (des-Glyl0-D-Leu6-Pro-NHEt9)-LHRH acetate]. Lorelin depot, which is composed of leuprolide acetate, was designed for one-month release injectable and biodegradable microsphere of multiple high doses Here we compared the efficacy of microsphere lorelin depot with that of Takeda microsphere (Lucrin Depot). Lorelin (leuprolide 375 mg/kg of body weight) was administered sc to male rats, and the serum was obtained from rat tail vein. Enzyme immunoassay (EIA) for testosterone was carried out to assess the effect of lorelin depot. The rats were sacrificed 42 days after the lorelin β injection. and c-Fos changes of brain were observed by indirect immunofluorescence method. Results showed that the testosterone secretion was inhibited and the expression of c-Fos was also inhibited in the brain.

The prevalence of PPNG among pretreated gonorrhea cases isolated at the STD clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul has been studied and reported annually since 1981. In 1991, 123 strains of N.gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 58(47.1%) were PPNG. In 1992, 98 starains of N.gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 51(52.0%) were PPNG. In all, 109(49.3%) strains were found to be PPNG among 221 strains isolated between 1991-1992. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul showed increased tendency till 1989, thereafter, it has been stationary or slightly decreasing.

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is one of the most difficult pain syndromes to treat. Invasive treatments may be considered when patients fail to obtain adequate pain relief from noninvasive treatment approaches. Here, we present three cases of PHN in the mandibular branch treated with ultrasound-assisted mental nerve block and pulsed radiofrequency treatment. None of the patients had adequate pain relief from the medical therapy, so we performed the mental nerve block on the affected side under ultrasound assistance. Two patients showed satisfactory pain relief continuously over 12 months without any further interventions, whereas one patient only had short-term pain relief. For the patient had short-term pain relief we performed pulsed radiofrequency treatment (PRFT) on the left mental nerve under ultrasound assistance. After PRFT, the patient had adequate pain relief for 6 months and there was no need for further management.
Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) approach for the blast disease resistance in rice

One of the biotic stresses in rice production is rice blast disease caused by Magnaporthe oryzae, which is one of the most destructive fungal diseases in rice. We outlined an approach towards genome wide association study for the blast disease resistance in rice. In total, 295 rice accessions including 137 Heuristic Set accessions (HS) and 158 Korean Bred varieties (KB) were screened for the rice blast disease resistance. Firstly, Magnaporthe oryzae were inoculated to the rice seedlings of two weeks after germinations. Then, evaluation of the disease symptoms and checking the crossing point (CP) value were conducted one week after inoculation. To quantify the CP value, real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was employed in combination with the primer pair and Taqman probe specific to Magnaporthe oryzae HYDROPHOBIN class 1 (MHP1) which is an indispensable unigene encoding HYDROPHOBIN for normal virulence expression. Based on these CP values from the PCR reactions containing a series of increasing concentration of cloned amplicon or fungal genomic DNA, correlation among the template’s copy number or its amount and amplification pattern was calculated. Reliability of this equation was further confirmed using the DNA samples from the rice leaves infected with compatible or incompatible strains of M. oryzae. These steps are still being undertaken, and after the complete process of disease resistance phenotyping for the whole population containing 295 accessions, GWAS will be performed to examine the associated genes involving in blast resistance mechanism using the whole genome resequencing data of 295 accessions. This approach would be a useful technique for identifying genetic loci responsible for natural variation in rice blast disease resistance and ultimately, new R genes which can improve the blast resistance in rice.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The effects of the compositional ratios of sputtering target on the device performance and instability in amorphous InGaZnO thin film transistors (a-IGZO TFTs) have been investigated. Four kinds of a-IGZO TFTs according to the contents of In, Ga, and Zn were fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering system. The electrical performances were enhanced with increasing In ratio in a-IGZO TFTs. The resistances of the source/drain electrodes and the effective channel length were decreased with increasing In ratio. Since the effective barrier energy is increased with increasing the sum of In and Zn ratios, the threshold voltage shifts under positive bias stress were decreased with increasing the sum of In and Zn ratios in a-IGZO TFTs.
