We report the effect of temperature on the extent of graphene oxide reduction by hydrazine and the dispersibility of the resulting chemically converted graphene (CCG) in polar organic solvents. The extent of graphene oxide reduction at high temperatures was only slightly higher than at low temperatures (30-50 oC), while the dispersibility of the resulting CCG in organic solvents decreased markedly with increasing temperature. The low dispersibility of CCGs prepared at high temperatures was greatly affected by reduction and influenced by the formation of an irreversible agglomerate of CCG at high temperatures. The reduction of graphene oxide at low temperatures is necessary to prepare highly dispersible CCG in organic solvents. CCG prepared at 30 oC is dispersible in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone concentrations as high as 0.71 mg/mL. The free-standing paper made of this CCG possessed an electrical conductivity of more than 22,000 S/m, one of the highest values ever reported.

D-alpha tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (TPGS), Tween 80, Cremophor EL, and 2-hydroxypropyl- β-cyclodextrin (HPCD) are primarily used in pharmaceutic field as surfactants and solubilizing agents. By far, no studies have reported the cytotoxicity in long time of these substances against two keratinocyte cell lines including HaCaT cells and PAM212 cells. In this work, the in vitro cytotoxicity of four above substances against these keratinocyte cell lines at 72 h was performed after determination of suitable cell viability study by investigating the relationship of the number of cells per well and absorbance against incubation time with MTT solution.

D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (TPGS) is a water-soluble nonionic surfactant, which is prepared from the esterification of Vitamin E succinate with polyethylene glycol 1000. Due to unique amphiphilic structure, TPGS offers many essential properties such as solubilizer, penetration enhancer, stabilizer, emulsifier, antioxidant agent and protection of drug in micelles, which can be used for permeation of drug through skin or deposition of drug in skin. Especially, the applications of TPGS for various systems such as supersaturated system, solid lipid nanoparticles, gels, microemulsions, nanoemulsions and solid dispersions will be discussed in this review.

Three compounds including 7,7-bis(3-indolyl)-p-cresol (1), cyclo-(S-Pro-R-Leu) (2) and cyclo-(S-Pro-R-Val) (3) were isolated from the strain of Bacillus megaterium LC derived from the marine sponge Haliclona oculata. All the isolated compounds showed antimicrobial activity at MIC values ranging from 0.005 to 5 ?g/mL against Gram-negative bacteria Vibrio vulnificus and V. parahaemolyticus, gram-positive bacteria Bacillus cereus and Micrococcus luteus, and the dermatophyte Trichophyton mentagrophytes. The results suggested that these compounds might have potential to be developed as agents treating dermatosis and controlling vibriosis in aquaculture.
Characterization of Ag-Doped p-Type SnO Thin Films Prepared by DC Magnetron Sputtering
Pham, Hoai Phuong,Thuy, Thanh Giang Le,Tran, Quang Trung,Nguyen, Hoang Hung,My Hoa, Huynh Tran,Thi Thu, Hoang,Cuong, Tran Viet Hindawi Limited 2017 Journal of nanomaterials Vol.2017 No.-
<P>Crystalline structure and optoelectrical properties of silver-doped tin monoxide thin films with different dopant concentrations prepared by DC magnetron sputtering are investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns reveal that the tetragonal SnO phase exhibits preferred orientations along (101) and (110) planes. Our results indicate that replacing Sn2+ in the SnO lattice with Ag+ ions produces smaller-sized crystallites, which may lead to enhanced carrier scattering at grain boundaries. This causes a deterioration in the carrier mobility, even though the carrier concentration improves by two orders of magnitude due to doping. In addition, the Ag-doped SnO thin films show a p-type semiconductor behavior, with a direct optical gap and decreasing transmittance with increasing Ag dopant concentration.</P>
An adaptive approach for the chloride diffusivity of cement-based materials
Bao-Viet Tran,Duc-Chinh Pham,Mai-Dinh Loc,Minh-Cuong Le 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2019 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.23 No.2
Adaptive schemes are constructed in this paper for modeling the effective chloride diffusion coefficient of cementbased materials (paste and concrete). Based on the polarization approximations for the effective conductivity of isotropic multicomponent materials, we develop some fitting procedures to include more information about the materials, to improve the accuracy of the scheme. The variable reference parameter of the approximation involves a few free scalars, which are determined through the available numerical or experimental values of the macroscopic chloride diffusion coefficient of cement paste or concrete at some volume proportions of the component materials. The various factors that affect the chloride diffusivity of cement-based material (porous material structure, uncertainty of value of the chloride diffusion coefficient in water-saturated pore spaces, etc.) may be accounted to make the predictions more accurate. Illustrations of applications are provided in a number of examples to show the usefulness of the approach.
Experiment on Nearest Level Modulation algorithm for FPGA based Modular Multilevel Converters
Tran Hung Cuong,Pham Viet Phuong,Tran Van Phuong,Tran Trong Minh 전력전자학회 2019 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2019 No.5
Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) have many advantages in comparison with conventional multilevel converters in application to high voltage system. However, the control system of MMC requires a large amount of I/O signal ports which cannot be generated by a single digital signal processor (DSP) with maximum I/O port of 24. This paper fucuses on the experimental results of aMMC that uses a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) in which embedge the Nearest Level Modulation (NLM) method and capacitor voltage balancing algorithm. The MMC consists of 12 Sub-Modules (SM) in each phase to generate a 13-level ac output voltage. Applying the NLM method and capacitor voltage balancing algorithm have significantly reduced the switching frequency and produced an ac output voltage with very low harmonic distortion. The experimental results have verified by a laboratory-scale prototype and compared with the simulation results.

Photocatalytic TiO_2 films were prepared using RF magnetron sputtering and three kinds of graphene oxide (GO) solutions with different concentration of 0.05 mg GO, 0.03 mg GO, and 0.01 mg GO in 10 ml ethanol were coated on TiO_2 films, respectively. Structures and morphologies of the samples were examined by AFM, SEM, and Raman and photocatalytic properties under UV and visible irradiation were examined respectively. The efficiency of the photodegradation is enhanced when TiO_2 thin film was coated with GO, it is related to its giant π-conjugation system and two-dimensional planar structure and efficient charge separation by coating GO. The maximum photodegradation rate was observed for TiO_2thin film coated with 0.03 mg GO. It is attributed to the increase of absorbance and scattering of photons through excess carbon in the photosystem.

<P>We have developed solution-processed reduced graphene oxide (RGO) transistors with ion gel gate dielectrics. The combination of solution-processed high-capacitance ion gel gate dielectrics and spray-coated RGO films yielded high-performance RGO transistors that operated below 4 V. Two reduction processes were applied to GO: (i) chemical reduction by hydrazine and (ii) solvothermal reduction in <I>N</I>-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. Chemical reduction provided a more efficient route to reduce GO than solvothermal reduction, and the resulting RGO films yielded higher electron and hole mobilities than films based on solvothermal methods. Temperature-dependent transport studies revealed that higher mobilities in RGO films based on chemical reduction result from (i) more effective delocalization of the charge carriers, (ii) more numerous localized states near the Fermi energy, and (iii) a longer optimum hopping distance, compared to those for films based on solvothermal reduction.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>Low-voltage solution-processed RGO transistors were prepared.
