      • S-192 Prevalence and predictors of mortality with Stress induced Cardiomyopathy in critically ill patients

        Purpose:?The aims of this study were to assess frequency of stress induced cardiomyopathy (SCMP) and predictors for incidence of SCMP in patients who admitted to medical ICU. We also explored the predictors of in-hospital mortality in patients with SCMP.?Method:?It is a retrospective cohort study. A total of 338 patients admitted to medical ICU and underwent transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) between January 2015 and December 2015 were enrolled. Definition of SCMP was defines as follows: 1) transient hypokinesis, akinesis of the left ventricular mid segments with or without apical involvement or the regional wall motion abnormalities extend beyond a single epicardial vascular distribution; 2) absence of obstructive coronary disease; 3) new EKG abnormalities or modest elevation in cardiac troponin; 4) absence of pheochromocytoma, myocarditis. Logistic regression model was used to analysis predictors for incidence of SCMP and predictors of in-hospital mortality in SCMP respectively. Cox regression model was used to analysis the influence of SCMP to mortality.?Results:?Of the 338 patients, SCMP was observed in 42 patients (12.4%). Compared to 296 patients without SCMP, patients with SCMP had lower frequency of DM (19% vs 29.2%, p=0.01), COPD (4.8% vs 16.9%, p=0.04) and higher prevalence of using mechanical ventilator (MV, 90.5% vs 71.9%, p=0.03), and lower ejection fraction (EF, 38.0±15.6 vs 61.7±11.8, p<0.001). In multivariate analysis, lower BMI (odd ratio, 0.88; 95% CI, 0.78 to 0.99; p=0.04) and lower EF (odd ratio, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.87 to 0.92; p<0.01) were associated with development of SCMP. In a Cox regression model adjusted with several confounders (age, DM, malignancy, liver cirrhosis, shock, acute kidney injury, use of MV) SCMP showed trend to increase of 60-day mortality (p=0.052). Among 42 patients with SCMP, acute kidney injury(AKI) was the only risk factor for predicting in-hospital mortality (odd ratio, 8.19; 95% CI, 1.35 to 47.75; p=0.02).?Conclusions:?Our study showed that prevalence of SCMP was 12.4% and trend to increase of 60-day mortality of critically ill patients. In patients with SCMP, AKI was the only risk factor for predicting in-hospital mortality.

        전근대 및 근대 서사문학에 재현된 모빌리티 연구

        본 연구는 전근대 및 근대 서사문학에 재현된 모빌리티의 변천 과정에 대해 고찰했다. 설화와 옛소설에는 상상력에 의한 다양한 세계들이 공존했다. 그리고 그 세계들 사이를 왕래하기 위한 모빌리티 역시상상되었다. 먼저 설화에서 다양한 세계들은 하나의 공간에 공존하는 것으로 형상화되었다. 그래서 연속된 공간으로 파악된 천상계와 지상계는 가시화된 모빌리티를 이용하여 이동이 가능한 것으로 상상되었다. 반면, 옛소설에서 여러 세계들은 각각 이질적인 공간으로 인식되었다. 그래서 천상계와 지상계는환생이라는 모빌리티를 이용해야만 오갈 수 있는 공간이 되었으며, 지상계와 수계 역시 양쪽 세계의 특성을 공유하고 있는 모빌리티에 의해서만 이동이 가능한 것으로 형상화되었다. 한편, 기차로 상징되는근대적 모빌리티의 풍경은 시공간에 대한 새로운 경험을 가능하게 한다는 점에서 경이로운 대상이었지만 동시에 기존의 일상 영역들을 허물어뜨린다는 점에서 두려움의 대상이었다. 이상의 논의는 현대성개념으로 제한된 모빌리티에 관한 연구 지평을 근대 이전의 서사문학으로까지 확장시켰다는 의의를 가진다. This paper examines the transformation process of mobility reproduced in Korean narrative literature. First, in the tale, various worlds are depicted as coexisting in one space. Therefore, the heavenly world and the earthly world, which were understood as continuous spaces, were imagined as being movable through visualized mobility. On the other hand, in old novels, various worlds were recognized as heterogeneous spaces. Therefore, the heavenly world and the earthly world became spaces that could only be moved through the mobility of reincarnation, or were expressed as being only possible to move through mobility that shared the characteristics of both worlds. Meanwhile, modern mobility was an object of wonder in that it enabled new experiences of time and space, but it was also an object of fear in that it destroyed existing areas of daily life. The above discussion has the significance of expanding the research on mobility, which was limited to the concept of modernity, to pre-modern narrative literature.

        북한문학사의 변화와 1920년대 詩史

        본 연구는 1920년대 詩史에 대한 북한문학사의 변화된 인식을 고찰했다. 북한문학사는 1967년을 기점으로 기술 양상이 변화했다. 1967년 이전에는 마르크스-레닌주의에 기초해서 서술되었으며, 1967년 이후에는 김일성 주체사상에 의해서 기술되었다. “조선문학통사”(1959)는 1920년대 詩史를 프롤레타리아와 진보적 문학으로 구분한 반면, “조선문학개관”(1986)은 반일애국문학, 비판적 사실주의, 프롤레타리아 문학, 항일혁명문학이 공존한 시기로 서술했다. 북한문학사의 통시적 변화의 특징은 문학사의 시대구분, 사회주의적 사실주의에 대한 인식, 김일성의 어록 등을 통해 구체적으로 드러났다. 그러나 북한문학사의 이러한 특징은 한계를 갖고 있었다. 첫째, 북한문학사가 정치적 이념에 의해서 기술된다는 측면이었다. 둘째, 특정한 이념에 부합하는 진실을 추구하는 과정에서 문학적 사실을 왜곡하기도 하였다. 셋째, 김일성 주체사상에 기초한 문학적 평가만을 허용한다는 점에서 다양한 해석의 가능성을 부정했다. 북한문학사는 특정한 이념에 기초하여 서술되었다는 한계를 지니지만 한국의 관점에서는 이러한 시선 또한 문학의 과거와 소통하는 다양한 방법 가운데 하나라는 측면에서 의의를 가진다. This study examined the changing perception of North Korean literary history regarding the history of poetry in the 1920s. The descriptive aspect of North Korean literary history has changed since 1967. Before 1967, it was written based on Marxism. After 1967, it was described by Kim Il-sung's ideology. Joseonmunhagtongsa(1959) divided the poetry in the 1920s into proletarian and progressive literature. However, Joseonmunhaggaegwan(1986) described it as a period in which anti-Japanese patriotic literature, critical realism, proletarian literature, and anti-Japanese revolutionary literature coexisted. The characteristics of changes in North Korean literary history were revealed through period division, awareness of socialist realism, and Kim Il-sung's words. However, these characteristics of North Korean literary history had limitations. First, it was described by political ideology. Second, literary facts were also distorted. Third, only literary evaluation based on Kim Il-sung's ideology was allowed. North Korean literary history is closer to political history than literary history.

        소프라노 가수들의 바이브레이션 심도 측정에 관한 연구

        다양한 음악활동 중 노래는 어느 악기보다 역사가 가장 길다. 오늘날까지 음악을 듣는 대중들에게 큰 비중을 차지한다. 노래에 관련 있는 분야로는 실용음악 가수, 국악인, 성악가 등 다양한 분야가 있지만 공통적인 창법 기술이 존재한다. 보통 모든 가수들이 저음역대나 중음역대에서는 바이브레이션이 뚜렷하게 나타나더라도 고음역대에서는 바이브레이션의 깊이가 저하되는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 이는 고음역대의 소리를 내기 위해서는 성대의 떨림 주기를 빠르게 해줘야 하는데 높은 발성 스킬이나 폐활량을 요구하기 때문이다. 하지만 여성 성악가 중에서도 가장 높은 음역대의 목소리를 구사하는 소프라노 성악가들은 높은 고읍역대에서도 뚜렷한 바이브레이션을 구사하여 바이브레이션의 깊이가 깊게 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 실제로 소프라노 가수들이 고음역대에서도 뚜렷한 바이브레이션이 나타나는지 확인하기 위해 대한민국을 대표하는 소프라노 성악가 4명의 바이브레이션 특성을 분석하고 바이브레이션 심도를 나타냈다. 실험 결과 소프라노 A의 바이브레이션 심도는 35%, 소프라노 B의 바이브레이션 심도는 17.5%, 소프라노 C의 바이브레이션 심도는 26%, 소프라노 D의 바이브레이션 심도는 38%로 나타났다. 따라서 소프라노 D, 소프라노A, 소프라노 B, 소프라노 C 순으로 바이브레이션 심도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. Among the various music activities, the song has the longest history than any instrument. It has a great influence on the audience who listen to music until today. There are various fields related to singing, such as practical music singers, Korean traditional musicians and vocalists, but there is a common technique. In general, the vibration of all singers is clearly visible in the low- and mid-frequency range, but the depth of vibration is degraded in the high-frequency range. This is because the vocal tract vibration cycle is required to accelerate the vocalization of a high-frequency band, which requires a high voice skill or lung capacity. However, among the female vocalists, the soprano vocalists who command the highest vocal range have deep vibrations because of their distinctive vibrations even at high frequencies. In this paper, in order to confirm whether the soprano singers actually show distinct vibrations even in the high - frequency range, we analyzed the vibration characteristics of the four soprano vocalists representing Korea and showed the depth of vibration. Experimental results show that the vibration depth of soprano A is 35%, the vibration depth of soprano B is 17.5%, the depth of vibration of soprano C is 26% and the depth of vibration of soprano D is 38%. Thus, soprano D, soprano A, soprano B and soprano C showed higher vibration depth.

        Molecular characterization of Arabidopsis thaliana LSH1 and LSH2 genes

        Background Arabidopsis thaliana genome encodes ten DUF640 (short for domain of unknown function 640)/ALOG (short for Arabidopsis LSH1 and Oryza G1) proteins, also known as light-dependent short hypocotyl (LSH) proteins. While some of the LSH genes regulate organ boundary determination and shade avoidance response, the function of most of these genes remains largely unknown. Objective In this study, we aimed to characterize the function of AtLSH1 and AtLSH2 in Arabidopsis. Methods We overexpressed AtLSH1 and AtLSH2 (with or without the FLAG tag) in Arabidopsis Col-0 plants under the control of the 35S promoter. We also generated knockout or knockdown lines of these genes by miRNA-induced gene silencing (MIGS). We conducted intensive phenotypic analysis of these transgenic lines, and fnally performed RNA-seq analysis of two AtLSH2 overexpression (OX) lines. Results Although AtLSH1 and AtLSH2 amino acid sequences showed high similarly, AtLSH2-OX lines showed much higher levels of their transcripts than those of AtLSH1-OX lines. Additionally, overexpression of AtLSH1 and AtLSH2 greatly inhibited hypocotyl elongation in a light-independent manner, and reduced both vegetative and reproductive growth. However, knockout or knockdown of both these AtLSH genes did not afect plant phenotype. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis of diferentially expressed genes (DEGs) identifed by RNA-seq revealed enrichment of the GO term ‘response to stimulus’, included phytohormone-responsive genes; however, genes responsible for the abnormal phenotypes of AtLSH2-OX lines could not be identifed. Conclusion Although our data revealed no close association between light and phytohormone signaling components, overexpression of AtLSH1 and AtLSH2 greatly reduced vegetative and reproductive growth of Arabidopsis plants. This property could be used to generate new plants by regulating expression of AtLSH1 and AtLSH2.

      • Astrocytic Orosomucoid-2 Modulates Microglial Activation and Neuroinflammation

        <P>Orosomucoid (ORM) is an acute-phase protein that belongs to the immunocalin subfamily, a group of small-molecule-binding proteins with immunomodulatory functions. Little is known about the role of ORM proteins in the CNS. The aim of the present study was to investigate the brain expression of ORM and its role in neuroinflammation. Expression of Orm2, but not Orm1 or Orm3, was highly induced in the mouse brain after systemic injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Plasma levels of ORM2 were also significantly higher in patients with cognitive impairment than in normal subjects. RT-PCR, Western blot, and immunofluorescence analyses revealed that astrocytes are the major cellular sources of ORM2 in the inflamed mouse brain. Recombinant ORM2 protein treatment decreased microglial production of proinflammatory mediators and reduced microglia-mediated neurotoxicity in vitro. LPS-induced microglial activation, proinflammatory cytokines in hippocampus, and neuroinflammation-associated cognitive deficits also decreased as a result of intracerebroventricular injection of recombinant ORM2 protein in vivo. Moreover, lentiviral shRNA-mediated Orm2 knockdown enhanced LPS-induced proinflammatory cytokine gene expression and microglial activation in the hippocampus. Mechanistically, ORM2 inhibited C-C chemokine ligand 4 (CCL4)-induced microglial migration and activation by blocking the interaction of CCL4 with C-C chemokine receptor type 5. Together, the results from our cultured glial cells, mouse neuroinflammation model, and patient studies suggest that ORM2 is a novel mediator of astrocyte-microglial interaction. Wealso report that ORM2 exerts anti-inflammatory effects by modulating microglial activation and migration during brain inflammation. ORM2 can be exploited therapeutically for the treatment of neuroinflammatory diseases.</P>
