      • 무기질 담체에 대한 폐수중 미생물의 흡착 메카니즘

        무기질 담채에 대한 폐수증 미생물의 흡착 메카니즘에 대하여 두 입자간의 물리화학적 상호작용을 설명하는 DLVO이론을 도입하여 검토하였다. 실험에 사용된 흡착제는 평균입도가 약40㎛ 정도인 규석, 고령토, 석회석질의 입자 및 다공성의 벌크상 소재를 이용하였다. 시간에 따른 미생물 흡착량(biofilm mass)은 반응전후의 담체(carrier)의 질량차로 구하였으며, 이에따른 폐수중의 COD제거율을 측정·평가하였다. 실험결과 폐수중의 COD제거율은 석회석, 고령토, 담체의 순으로 높게 나타났으며, 이는 담체의 표면전위(ζ-potential) 및 표면구조에따른 미생물 흡착량 변화에 기인 하는 것으로 생각된다. The mechanisms of adsorption of microorganisms to inorganic solid surfaces are studied with DLVO theory of describing physico-chemical interaction between two particles. Average size of 40㎛ of silica, kaolin, limestone powders and porous materials are utilized as adsorbent. Biofilm mass is estimated by the weight difference of carrier before and after the interaction with microorganisms. Also, COD removal rates in wastewater based on biofilm mss are discussed. As a result COD removal rate is higher in order of limestone, kaolin, and silica. This fact is considered that 5-potentials and surface structures of carriers cause change in adsorption capacity of microorganisms.

        The success or failure of the build up of military force makes a significant impact on the survival strategy of an individual country. As the ROK has made every effort to reinforce the weapon system and equipment by investing a couple of billion won so far since 1947, it obtains a remarkable success in various fields. Above all, in addition to deterring NK's military threats in a substantive manner, this investment contributes, to a great degree, to acquiring some state of the art technology and personnel with expertise, vitalizing national economy, developing dual use technology and so forth. However, if we look into the whole process in detail, its substantial efficiency falls down. in comparison with investment cost since the most portion of the military force reinforcement is in conjunction with direct introduction of foreign weapon systems and technology-import production. In particular, if we examine 'Defense Reform 2020' which is now under controversy, it is certain that key weapon systems are primarily dependent upon foreign introduction. In a few words, it makes acquisition of key technologies be merely ideal and only deepens the degree subject to the advanced country in the defense industry. Thus it is of my view that we should set up, even now, general acquisition policy which is to invest the budget intensively on domestic R&D in the long term, and also invest more than one third of defense investment budget in R&D in addition to seeking for the policy centered on not threat-based but capabilities-based acquisition. Further, the Defense Ministry should take advantage of the ROK-US alliance as much as necessary to minimize the security instability that might be caused by the lack of force. Although it results in the occurrence of some difficulties thereby, the Defense Ministry should proceed with aforementioned proposition. Unless doing it, we are not able to enter the circle of advanced defense industry nations forever, leading to falling behind the others in national defense science & technology. It is the right time that we have to change our way of thinking so as to make such an astronomical budget investment give birth to more positive impact to national development.

In this paper, the UPnP AV Architecture module is designed and implemented on linux and XML based environment to control the information appliances using UPnP AV Architecture module The sub modules' behavior of the implemented bridge conforms to the UPnP AV Architecture Device and AV Recorder/ Player Subunit specification according to the sequential processes of the bridge initialization, the device search, the event notification and the response UPnP AV device is very usefully applied to the advanced home control field.

      • 항공기 착륙장치의 충격흡수특성해석

        본 연구를 통하여 항공기 착륙장치의 거동(동특성 및 완충기 효율)을 해석하고 평가하는 Software를 개발하엿다. 이 프로그램을 개발하기 위해 착륙장치를 2개의 자유도를 가지는 동역학시스템으로 모델링하고 운동방정식을 유도하였다. 또한 완충기에 작용하는 내력(즉 공기력, orifice force, friction force)을 표현하는 관계식을 정립하였으며, 타이어의 힘을 표현하는 관계식을 유도하였다. 그리고 운동방정식에는 타이어의 Spin Up운동도 고려되었다. 선정된 항공기의 착륙장치의 Parameter의 값을 프로그램의 입력 Data로 사용했을 때 매우 신뢰할 만한 동특성의 결과를 얻었으며, 특히 Drop Test 결과와 본 연구에서 개발된 Software에서 얻어진 결과를 비교했을 때 매우 흡사한 결과를 얻었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발된 Software는 앞으로 국산화되는 착륙장치의 개발 및 설계에 매우 유용하게 사용될 것으로 판단된다. 또한 본 연구에서 사용된 입력 Data중 중요한 10개의 Parameter를 선정하여, 각 Parsmeter를 변화시키면서 착륙장치의 동특성 및 효율의 변화를 고찰해 보았다. 완충기 설계시 가장 중요한 Parameter들은 K-factor, Orifice 단면적 등과 같은 완충기의 변수로 사료되며, 타이어의 변수 T??이나 b는 중요한 변수가 아님을 확인하였다. 또한 항공기의 무게 W, Wheel/Tire의 무게, 완충기의 초기 공기압 P??, 항공역학계수 A도 착륙장치의 효율에는 크게 영향을 미치지 않고 있음을 고찰하였다. 그러나 공기실의 Politropic 지수 n, 항공기의 수직착륙속도 V는 착륙장치의 효융에 Non-Monotonic하게 영향을 미치는 것을 고찰하였다. The software which analysis and evaluate the dynamic characteristics of an landing gear has been developed in this study. The landing gear system has been modelled to be 2 DOF dynamic system to drive the equation of motion. The three internal forces, which are air pressure force, orifice force, and friction force, has been formulated and also the tire force has been formulated and also the tire force has been derived. When the typical values of the design parameters is applied to the developed software, the reliable results of the dynamic characteristics are obtained. Furthermore there is a good agreement between the simulation results and experimental drop test extracted from relevant literatures. It can be concluded that the developed software will be useful for the design and development of a landing gear system inside Korea.

        소간세포암의 진단과 치료 및 예후

        Background/ Aims : Cases of small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have been increasing with the progress of diagnostic methods . In t his study the screening methods for early diagnos is of HCC were re-evaluated, and comparative ther apeutic analyses were perfomed. Methods : A total of 110 pat ients with small HCC ($lt; 5 cm and $lt; 4 nodules ) were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into four treatment groups ; unt reated group (No T x, n=12), transarterial-oily-chemoembolization group (TOCE, n=43), combined treatment group of percutaneous ethanol injection and TOCE (CEI, n=22), OP group ( OP, n=33). Results : Small HCC occupied 22.6% of t ot al HCC cases . Only one thir d of small HCC cases were detected during the regular screening. In this group, Alpha- fet oprotein as say pr ovided a diagnostic clue in 50% of cases, ultras onography in 71%, and the combination of both in 88%. Five year s ur vival rat e and 5- year non- recurrence rate in small HCC was 29% and 37% respectively. Comparative ther apeutic analys es showed t hat CEI and OP gave a bet t er s ur vival t han T OCE in Child gr ade A. CEI prolonged survival in Child grade B wher eas TOCE did not . Only TOCE was tried and did not improve the survival in Child grade C. Conclus i on : 1) A more strict screening is needed in high risk group of HCC. 2) As a first line of treatment in small HCC, OP or CEI can be selected in Child grade A, and CEI in Child grade B. In Child grade C, a less invasive treatment (PEIT , microwave coagulat ion therapy) should be investigated. (Korean J Hepatol 1998;4:365 380)

        Enhancement of Photoelectric Efficiency in a Dye-sensitized Solar Cell Using Hollow TiO<sub>2</sub> Nanoparticles as an Overlayer

        $TiO_2$ hollow nanoparticles (HNPs) and their light scattering effect which influences on the photoelectric conversion efficiency of a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) were investigated. When only HNPs were employed in DSSC as the anode layer material, the conversion efficiency (e.g., 0.96%) was the lowest, possibly due to scattering loss of incident light. However, DSSC fabricated by using HNPs as a scattering overlayer on the $TiO_2$ nanoparticles (P-25), showed higher conversion efficiency (4.02%) than that without using HNPs (3.36%).

        Minimum Two-year Results of Revision Total Knee Arthroplasty Following Infectious or Non-infectious Causes

        Purpose: To compare clinical outcome of revision total knee arthroplasty (TKA) between the infected and non-infected groups. Materials and Methods: This study compared the clinical and radiographic results of 21 infected and 15 non-infected revision TKAs at a minimum 2- years follow-up. Clinical evaluations were assessed using the range of motion (ROM), Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) score, Knee Society Knee Score (KSKS), Knee Society Function Score (KSFS), and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) score. Radiologic evaluations were assessed using the radiographic results of the American Knee Society and joint line change. Results: Patients operated for non-infectious causes had significantly better postoperative ROM than the infected group (infected group, 101.7o; non-infected group, 117.8o). The infected group achieved significantly poor HSS (79.2 vs. 85.5), KSKS (75.5 vs. 86.6), KSFS (76.9 vs. 85.5), WOMAC (30.3 vs. 21.2) scores than the non-infected group. Postoperative joint line elevation was lower in the infected versus non-infected group (0.5 mm vs. 2.1 mm), but there was no significant difference. Conclusions: Revision TKA is an effective treatment that can provide successful results in the infected as well as non-infected patients. The overall results of non-infected revision were more satisfactory than infected revision.
