The purpose of this study was to compare shear bond strength and interfacial pattern of composite bonded to dentin using self-etching adhesive systems. Sixty extracted human molars with exposed occlusal dentin were divided into four groups and bonded with four adhesives and composites: Single Bond/Filtek Z 250(SB), Tyrian SPE-One-Step Plus/Aelitefil(TY), Prompt L-Lpop/Filtek Z 250(LP), and one-Up Bond F/Palfique Toughwell(OU). The results of this study were as follows; 1. Shear bond strength for OU was significantly lowet than that of other groups(p<0.05). No significant difference was founded among SB, TY, and LP. 2. Failure modes to dentin showed adhesive and mixed for SB, TY, and LP, but them for OUT showed adhesive in all spceimens. 3. Dentin-resin interface showed close adaptation for SB, TY, and LP, but it showed gap for OU. 4. The hybrid layers for TY, LP, OU were thinner than that of SB. Adhesive layers were observed between composite and hybrid layer, which were 5 ㎛ thick for TY and 10 ㎛ thick for OU.

CLED (Contact Light Emitting Device) has three layers consisting of a transparent electrode, a light emitting layer and a substrate. When the substrate of the CLED comes in contact with a fingerprint under AC input voltage, it makes an electric field between the fingerprint and the device. Due to the electric field, the light is emitted along the ridgeline of the fingerprint. The intensity along the ridge on the surface of the CLED increase in proportion to the electric field. To achieve the uniform performance of fingerprint verification devices, inspection system of CLED for quality control were required. In this research, we proposed the factors for quality controls such as dimensions of the CLED, uniformity, contrast, brightness and transmission. In addition, we realized the inspection system that is measured the quality control factors.

Dental caries is a chronic disease that causes the destruction of tooth structure by the interaction of plaque bacteria, food debris, and saliva. There has been attempts to induce remineralization by supersaturating the intra-oral environment around the surface enamel, where there is incipient caries. In this study, supersaturated remineralized solution "R" was applied to specimens with incipient enamel caries, and the quantitative ananlysis of remineralization was evaluated using microradiography. Thirty subjects volunteered to participate in this study. Removable appliances were constructed for the subjects. and the enamel specimen with incipient caries were embedded in the appliances. The subjects wore the intra-oral appliance for 15 days except while eating and sleeping. The removable appliance were soaked in supersaturated solution "R", saline, or Senstime® to expose the specimen to those solutions three times a day, 5 minutes each time. After 15 days, microradiography was retaken to compare and evaluate remineralization. The results were as the following: 1. The ratio of remineralized area to demineralized area was significantly higher in the supersaturated solution "R" and Senstime® than in the saline (p<0.05) 2. Remineralization in the supersaturated buffer solution "R" occurred in the significantly deeper parts of the tooth, compared to the Senstime® group containing high concentration of fluoride.(p<0.05) As in the above results, the remineralization effect of remineralized buffer solution "R" on incipient enamel caries has been proven. For clinical utilization, further studies on soft tissue reaction and the effect on dentin and cementum are necessary. In conclusion compared to commercially available fluoride solution, remineralization solution "R" showed better remineralization effect on early enamel caries lesion. so it is considered as effecient solution for clinical application

이준호,유영기,노병욱,이수진 선문대학교 ·중소기업기술지원연구소 2002 선문공대 연구/기술 논문집 Vol.7 No.1
Motion trackings are being used in part of the entertainment, medical, sports, education and industry with the development of 3D virtual-reality. In particular, the technology is used for animation and games as a part of entertainment. We can make very smooth motion that was never realized before, if we use the technology instead of using mouse, joystick, midi-sliders and so on for making some characters. In this research, we have developed a very low priced and fast sampling system using optic sensors for capturing the motion.

홍석진,김소라,이찬영,노병덕,금기연 대한치과보존학회 2001 Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics Vol.26 No.4
Dental caries is the most common oral disease. There are many factors contributing to its development. but complete understanding and prevention are not fully know. However, it is possible to remineralize the early enamel carious lesion by fluoride containing remineralization solution. Recently the pH-cycling model has been used to examine the effect of fluoride solution on remineralization of artificial caries in vitro as it can closely simulate the conditions encountered in vivo within a carefully controlled enviroment.

( Kee Suck Suh ),( Jae Woo Baek ),( Tae Kwon Kim ),( Jin Woo Lee ),( Hyo Jin Roh ),( Young Seung Jeon ),( Sang Tae Kim ) 대한피부과학회 2009 Annals of Dermatology Vol.21 No.4
Background: Phytoclear-EL1, an extract from Euphorbia lathyris seeds, has a whitening effect due to inhibition of tyrosinase activity. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of phytoclear-EL1 on melanogenesis. Methods: Cultured B-16 melanoma cells and 30 human volunteers were used for in vitro and in vivo studies, respectively. Phytoclear-EL1 was added to the cultured B-16 melanoma cells, and applied to UVB-induced hyperpigmented lesions of human volunteers twice daily for 7 weeks. Changes in the number of B-16 melanoma cells, as well as changes in morphology, melanin content, and tyrosinase activity, were measured and then compared with the normal control and the 10-3M arbutin groups. Also, the effect of phytoclear-EL1 on UVB-induced hyperpigmented lesions was examined through subjective and objective measurements. Results: In the in vitro study (p<0.05), the number, melanin content, and tyrosinase activity of cultured B-16 melanoma cells were decreased in the 5 μg/ml phytoclear-EL1 group compared to the control group. On objective assessment with a chromameter, the 0.2% phytoclear-EL1 group had a larger difference in the mean L values before and 7 weeks after applying phytoclear-EL1 as compared to the other groups. On subjective assessment by both the researchers and subjects 7 weeks after applying experimental materials, the 0.2% phytoclear-EL1 group and positive control (3% arbutin) had higher scores than the placebo groups. These results demonstrated that phytoclear-EL1 in vivo and in vitro had an inhibitory effect on melanogenesis. Conclusion: Phytoclear-EL1 may be a candidate extract in the control of hyperpigmentary disorders. (Ann Dermatol 21(4) 369~375, 2009)

Roh, Changhyun,Lee, Ho-Young,Kim, Sang-Eun,Jo, Sung-Kee John Wiley Sons, Ltd. 2010 Journal of chemical technology and biotechnology Vol.85 No.8
<P>BACKGROUND: Over 170 million people, more than 3% of the world's population, suffer from the hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and the rate of death from liver-related mortality to HCV has increased. In respect of this, the development of assays for biological imaging should be urgently considered as an essential factor in diagnosis.</P><P>RESULTS: A novel HCV-detecting technique using a nanoparticle-supported aptamer probe was demonstrated. With the aid of nanoparticle quantum dots (QDs) with carboxyl group as an imaging probe, and 5′-end-amine-modified RNA oligonucleotide as a capturing probe, target HCV NS3 was visually detected on chip. The QDs-based RNA aptamer for HCV NS3 showed high selectivity and specificity against other protein such as BSA. The detection limit of HCV NS3 protein was 5 ng mL−1 level.</P><P>CONCLUSION: With a novel strategy for protein–aptamer interaction, the feasibility of applying QDs-based fluorescent detection technique to HCV viral protein assay for the development of a protein biochip was demonstrated. This scheme of QDs-mediated imaging with a target-oriented specific RNA aptamer for the detection of infectious HCV diseases provides an efficient strategy and a promising new platform for monitoring applications.
