      • 원심모형실험에 의한 모래다짐말뚝의 지지력 산정식 연구

        Centrifuge model tests were performed to find appropriate equations proposed previously of estimating the bearing capacity of the composite clayey soil reinforced with sand compaction pile. Model tests were carried out with changing the replacement ratio of SCP (20%, 40%, 70%), contents of fine materials (5%, 10%, 15%) and ratio of treated width to loading width (1B, 2B, 3B). Test results about bearing capacity of the composite ground were obtained by performing the surcharge load tests with measurements of applied loads and vertical displacement. Bearing capacities against bulging and shear failures were estimated by the existing equations. As results of comparing the estimated bearing capacity with experimental values the bearing capacities estimated by Greenwood's equation (1970) for bulging failure mode were similar to the test results.

      • 토사 절토사면 안정성 영향인자의 민감도 분석

        A sensitivity analysis about effects of influencing factors on the stability of Soil cut slope was performed. Slope stability analyses were carried out under dry, rainy and seismic conditions. Dominant factors controlling the slope stability were chosen such as cohesion and internal friction angle, unit weight of soil, water table and seismic horizontal coefficient used for the slope stability during eurthquake. Parametric stability analysis with those factors was performed for sensitivity analysis. As results of analyzing the sensitivity of factors under dry and rainy conditions, effects of cohesion, internal friction angle and unit weight of soil on the stability of slope are more critical in the dry condition than in the rainy condition. Cohesion and internal friction angle are more dominant factors influencing the slope stability irrespective of dry or rainy conditions than unit weight of soil and the horizontal seismic coefficient. The unit weight and the horizontal seismic coefficient affects crucially the stability according to conditions of slope formation and dry or rainy seasons. For the effect of horizontal seismic coefficient on stability of slope, safety factor of slope is not affected significantly by dry or rainy conditions, However, increase of the horizontal seismic coefficient under the rainy condition does reduce the safety factor significantly rather than the dry condition. Therefore, it is needed that the location of the water table is assigned appropriately to satisfy the required safety factor of stability in the case of checking slope stability for the rainy and seismic conditions.

      • 준설매립지반의 압밀침하에 대한 쌍곡선 침하예측기법의 적용성 연구

        Applicability of hyperbolic settlement prediction method to consolidation settlement in the dredged and reclaimed ground was assessed by analyzing results of centrifuge tests modelling self-weight consolidation of soft marine clay. From literature review about self-weight consolidation of soft marine clays located in southern coast in Korea, constitutive relationships of void ratio - effective stress - permeability and typical self-weight consolidation curves with time were obtained by analyzing centrifuge model experiments. For the condition of surcharge loading, exact solution of consolidation settlement curve obtained by using Terzaghi's consolidation theory was compared with results predicted by the hyperbolic method. It was found to have its own inherent error to predict final consolidation settlement. From results of analyzing the self-weight consolidation with time by using this method, it predicted relatively well in error range of 0.04~18% for the case of showing the linearity in the relationship between T vs T/S in the stage of consolidation degree of 60~90 %. However, it overestimated the final settlement with large errors if those relation curves were nonlinear.

      • 연직배수공법의 스미어존이 압밀에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치해석

        In this paper, an numerical approach is performed to investigate the effects of smear zone, occurred by penetrating vertical drains, on consolidation behavior of soft clay deposits. Such a numerical analysis is applied to the field condition to confirm its applicability. Parametric numerical analyses is carried out to study influencing factors such as permeability in smear zone, boundary of smear zone and discharge capacity of vertical drains on the consolidation of soil. As results of analyses, for the given conditions of soil, degree of consolidation is getting faster with increase of permeability of vertical drain. Degree of consolidation is delayed with decrease of permeability of smear zone. As the ratio of drain width to smear zone increases, the degree of consolidation decreases. Proposed values of influencing factors by previous researchers is found to be reliable from results of numerical analyses with Cam-clay model.

      • 인천 및 부산 재성형 해성점토의 비배수 전단강도 특성에 대한 연구

        This research is to determine characteristics of undrained shear strength of remolded marine clay at Incheon and Busan, representing typical marine clays in Korea. Laboratory vane tests with remolded marine clays sampled from coasts at Incheon and Busan were performed to investigate the undrained shear strength of them. Test results were compared with the predicted values of undrained shear strength proposed by many researchers. It was found that measured results about undrained shear strength with water content was in good agreements with values proposed by Terzaghi empirical formula.

      • 경사지반에 위치한 교대기초의 원심모델링

        This paper is the research result about centrifuge model experiments of investigating the behavior of bridge abutment on the sloped ground. Ground condition of the studied site was the bridge abutment with pile foundation adjacent to the slope. The pile foundations was supported on the soft rocks covered with the embankment. Evaluating the behavior of such a complicate ground and structure conditions was not easy so that the centrifuge modelling was performed to find the overall behavior of them. Layout of centrifuge model experiment was simplified to simulate easily the actual behavior of very complicate site condition. Construction process in field such as ground excavation for footing foundation, installation of piles, Placement of footing and bridge abutment, backfilling and surcharge loading eas duplicated in the centrifuge model experiment, Consequently, the stability of the piled bridge abutment adjacent to the slope of embankment was evaluated throughout centrifuge modelling.

      • 준설토의 침강특성에 관한 실험적 연구

        Column tests in the laboratory were preformed to investigate characteristics of settling process of dredged soil sampled from in-situ. Test results were analyzed by using the existing theories on discrete settling and hindered settling. From column tests of monitoring the interface with time, settling was found to be a linear process with time and the settling rate was increased with initial water content of slurry. The settling rate was also observed to decrease with increasing initial height of slurry. Most of settling process were composed of flocculation, hindered settling and self-weight consolidation. On the Other hands, flocculation of soil during settling was observed and it was found that the size and density of flocculated particles could be analyzed by using the method proposed by Richardson and Zaki.

      • 확률론적 해석법에 의한 연직배수 영향인자 민감도 분석

        A probabilistic analysis model, one of reliability analysis methods introducing the concept of probabilistic variables, was developed to investigate the uncertainty of dominant factors influencing the degree of consolidation in the radial consolidation theories. Based on the developed probabilistic analysis model, sensitivity study of those factors was performed to find their trends of affecting the degree of consolidation in the vertical drain method. Various radial consolidation theories, Proposed by Barron(1948), Hansbo(1979), Yoshikuni(1979) and 0noue(1988), were used for this parametric study with the influencing factors such as size of smear zone, reduction ratio of permeability in the smear zone, discharge capacity, permeability for horizontal flow and coefficient of consolidation for horizontal flow. As results of this sensitivity study, for the given consolidation theory, contribution of each factor to the degree of consolidation was figure out and compared to each other. For the given value of each factor, the sensitivity to the degree of consolidation in the various theories was evaluated and their applicability and limitations were assessed.
