During the past five years, there has been tremendous interest worldwide in the possibility of exploiting chaos in wideband communication systems. Many different demodulation techniques have been proposed up to date. They can be divided into two basic categories. In the first approach, like the conventional coherent demodulation techniques, the chaotic signal has to be recovered from the received noisy signal by synchronization. However, the chaotic synchronization techniques published to data are so sensitive to the channel noise and distortion that these techniques can not be used in radio communications. In the second approach, the demodulation is carried out nonsynchronization. This paper surveys the different chaotic communication techniques that can be implemented nonsynchronization and compares the threshold and BER of the different methods. Finally, FM-DCSK is introduced the first step for apply to wideband chaos digital CDMA, where the data is not limited by the inherent nonperiodic property of the chaotic signal.

The purpose of this study was to develop a wearable platform system that can detect and acquire a soldier’s biosignals (i.e., heart activity signal, respiration rate, etc.) in a nonrestrained, unconscious manner. These detected biosignals are transmitted to a processing device to analyze and monitor the soldier’s physical status. To achieve this, textile-based heart activity electrodes and a strain gauge sensor for the respiration signal measurement were developed, and their performances in detecting each signal were verifed. These sensors were embedded in a chest belt to design a wearable platform that can simultaneously measure heart activity and respiration signals. The sensor part of the chest belt has a dual layer structure to detect high-quality signals. Stretch fabric was used on the outer layer and a respiration sensor was attached to the belt. On the inside layer, a non-stretch fabric was used as the base fabric and a heart activity-sensing electrode, that is capable of taking measurements using a modifed lead-II heart activity signal induction method, was embroidered onto the fabric. Subjects were asked to wear the chest belt, and a biosignal processor module was attached to verify the system’s performance while simultaneously acquiring the heart activity and respiration signals. More specifcally, it was confrmed that the two signals were detected in a stable. It is expected that the biosignal-monitoring wearable platform system developed in this study will be able to efectively analyze and monitor soldiers’ biosignals.

Gastric mucosal damage by iron pills is often reported, but cases with iron pill aspiration are not common. Through oxidation of impacted iron pill, bronchial mucosal damage can proceed to chronic bronchial infiammation and necrosis, resulting endobronchial stenosis and rarely, perforation. We report a 92-year-old woman who endured chronic productive cough with significant atelectasis at left middle and lower lung field. Bronchoscopy revealed significant luminal narrowing with exudative infiammation at left main bronchus. Bronchial washing cytology showed necroinfiammatory exudates and a few brown pigmented materials. Mucosal biopsy revealed diffuse brown pigments suggesting the presence of ferrous pigment, crystal deposition and marked tissue degeneration. After vigorous coughing, dark sediments were expectorated, and overall symptoms and radiological abnormalities were improved from then on. This case report is the first in our country, in spite of a few previous reports in the abroad. In conclusion, cautious observation of the aspiration-prone patients and early detection of iron pill aspiration might be important to prevent iron pill induced bron-chial injury.

Gastric mucosal damage by iron pills is often reported. However, iron pill aspiration is uncommon. Oxidation of the impacted iron pill causes bronchial mucosal damage that progresses to chronic bronchial inflammation, necrosis, endobronchial stenosis and rarely, perforation. We reported a case of a 92-year-old woman with chronic productive cough and significant left-sided atelectasis. Bronchoscopy revealed substantial luminal narrowing with exudative inflammation of the left main bronchus. Bronchial washing cytology showed necroinflammatory exudate and a small amount of brown material. Mucosal biopsy showed diffuse brown pigments indicative of ferrous pigments, crystal deposition, and marked tissue degeneration. After vigorous coughing, she expectorated dark sediments and her symptoms and radiological abnormalities improved. There are a few such reports worldwide; however, this was the first case reported in Korea. Careful observation of aspiration-prone patients and early detection of iron pill aspiration may prevent iron pill-induced bronchial injury.

This study was carry out evaluation of seasonal performance for the decentralized desalination system with the solar thermal system and tile photo voltaic power system. First operating demonstration system was set up in Cheju in 2006. These system comprises the desalination unit with designed daily fresh water capacity of 2 ㎡ and is supplied by a 120 ㎡ evacuated tubular solar collector, a 6㎡ heat storage tank, and a 5㎾ photovoltaic power generation supply the electricity for hydraulic pumps to move the working fluids. In a spring season day average 392W/ ㎡ the daily fresh water showed to produce about 340liter. In a summer season day average 296W /㎡, the daily fresh water showed to produce about 328liter. In a autumn season day average 349W/㎡, the daily fresh water showed to produce about 277liter. In a winter season day average 342W/㎡, the daily fresh water showed to produce about 271liter.

This study describes heating thermal performance of heating and cooling demonstration system using ETSC(Evacuated tubular solar collector) installed at Seo-gu art center of Kwangju. For demonstration study, a reading room with about 331㎡ was heated and cooled using that system. The demonstration system was consisted of ETSC, storage tank, hot water supply tank, subsidiary boiler, and subsidiary tank.<br/> When evaluated the results obtained at January of winter season, 40% of required total energy used as hot water supply and 26% for space heating was supplied from the ETSC system and the rest, 34 %, was fulfilled by the subsidiary boiler. Here, the solar energy was mainly used for space heating, then if the surplus energy was being, the rest of solar energy was used as the hot water supply. 20% of hot water supply energy used in that building was supplied by the solar system.

A 30 year-old female visited our out-patient clinic with painful joint swelling in both hands and feet. Because she had tested positive for rheumatoid factor, and her inflammatory markers were elevated, the case was initially classified as rheumatoid arthritis RA), according to the 2010 American College of Rheumatology (ACR)/European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) classification criteria. However, radiographic examinations, including simple radiography and MRI, revealed that her peripheral bone lesions were compatible with bone tuberculosis. The patient also exhibited pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) on chest X-ray and CT examinations. She was treated with isoniazid (INH), rifampicin (RFP), ethambutol (EMB), and pyrazinamide (PZA), and exhibited a good response to these medications. The patient was diagnosed as having bone TB, and her peripheral bone lesions were resolved using anti-TB treatment. This was an uncommon case of bone TB mimicking RA. (Korean J Med 2014;87:373-378)
