        차량용 산소발생기의 성능 측정

        Auto exhausts and air pollution can become trapped in the cabin of vehicle, reducing the amount of oxygen available for breathing. Driver may feel sleepy, headaches, nausea, confusion, dizziness and lower levels of oxygen can damage the driver's general health. Consequently, oxygen generator purified oxygen into the car to help driver get the oxygen driver's body needs. In this study, in order to evaluate the oxygen generator performance, the samples that the various conditions(humidity(50%, 100%), flow and oxygen concentration) were examined. There were three types of oxygen generator; sample 1(2.5ℓ/min, 36%0₂), sample 2(4.5ℓ/min, 41%0₂) and sample 3(5ℓ/min, 39%0₂). As the humidity increased from 50% to 100%, the oxygen concentration of the sample 1(36%), 2(41%) and 3(39%) was reduced 31%0₂, 38%0₂ and 38%0₂, respectively. Also, the each sample measured that effect of human in car on oxygen concentration, if the oxygen concentration is one person in car, each sample of oxygen concentration was 20.8%0₂, 23.7%0₂ and 21.2%0₂. From the above results, it was shown that oxygen generator for car, if the oxygen concentration is increased, effect of humidity is reduced, and that in the sample of supplying a high-rate of oxygen, the oxygen concentration is increased. It was suggested that effect of humidity on oxygen generator for car can be reduced according to the supply of oxygen.

        Recently, the humidity adjustment of indoor air is of great importance in air conditioning system as a applied, in buildings, vehicles, and containers for storage and transport of perishable products. Membrane dehumidification or air is potentially attractive because it offers low capital and operating costs, along with low energy consumption. And membrane dehumidification process attracted the attention of the public instead of the other dehumidification processes, such as adsorption, absorption, and refrigeration cycles and so on. In this study, the prepared hydrophilic inorganic membrane-based dehumidifiers (membrane air dehumidification) examined the performance of dehumidification. The surface-modified inorganic membrane prepared in this study showed high dehumidification efficiency (over 80%). Thc membrane might be very useful for dehumidification industries.

        임상간호사의 사회심리적 건강과 건강지각, 건강관련 행위

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among psycho-social well-being, and health perception and behavior in clinical nurses. Methods: The data were collected from 362 nurses employed at five general hospitals. A self-reported questionnaire was used to assess demographics and job characteristics, health perception and behavior, depression, and psycho-social stress. The data were analysed using Cronbach's alpha, descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: While nurses perceived themselves to be in good health, represented by a high mean for health perceptions, actual health behavior was poor as the mean for health behavior was low. Forty two percents of the subjects were categorized as having major depression and high-stress levels. There were statistically significant differences in psycho-social well-being according to age, marital status, years of employment, and monthly salary. Also, there were significant differences in psycho-social well-being according to health perception, regular meals and exercise, sufficient sleep, job related injury and accident, and absences for ill. Conclusion: In order to prevent depression and improve psycho-social well-being among clinical nurses, organizational support and health management needs to be focused on high-risk nurses. Furthermore, it is essential to consider the health perception and behavior of clinical nurses.

        보건관리대행 기관의 사업장내 진료에 대한 근로자 요구 및 실시 의향

        목적 : 본 연구에서는 보건관리대행 사업에 있어 사업장내 진료에 대한 수요와 보건관리대행기관의 방문진료 제공에 대한 의향을 조사하여 사업장내 진료에 대한 욕구를 파악하고, 이를 토대로 사업장내 진료에 대한 기초적인 자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 : 근로자들의 의료이용 행태와 방문진료에 대한 요구도를 파악하기 위해 167개 보건관리대행 사업장의 사업주와 보건담당자, 그리고 1,350명의 근로자에게 설문 조사를 실시하였고, 사업주 121명(72.5%), 보건담당자 145명(86.8%), 근로자 816명(60.5%)이 응답하였다. 일차진료의 제공 가능성을 파악하기 위해서 전국의 66개 보건관리대행기관의 의사와 간호사 및 행정책임자에게 우편 설문조사를 실시하여 의사 31명 (47.0%), 간호사 38명(57.6%) 및 행정책임자 34명(51.5%)이 응답하였다. 결과 : 보건관리대행 사업을 수행하고 있는 의사의 87%와 간호사의 94%가 보건관리대행 업무를 담당하면서 많은 근로자들로부터 투약 등 진료를 요구받고 있었고, 100 %의 간호사와 행정책임자 94%, 의사의 76 %가 보건관리대행 사업에서 진료를 수행하는 것이 필요하다고 생각하고 있었다. 한편사업주의 85 %, 보건관리 담당자 86 %와 근로자81 %가 보건관리대행기관에서 사업장내 진료를 시행 할 때 이를 수용하겠다고 응답하였다.결론 대다수의 근로자와 사업주가 보건관리대행기관의 진료를 요구하고 있었고, 보건관리대행 기관의 의사와 간호사가 사업장에서의 진료를 수용할 의향이 있고, 직업성 뇌심혈 관계질환의 예방 등 필요성이 인정된다면 보건관리대행 의사의 사업장내 진료를 인정해야 한다고 생각된다. Objectives : This study was performed to survey worker's demands for worksite medical care and agency's intention for offering worksite medical care in Group Health Service Agency. Methods : One study subjects were employers, workers and office personnels in 167 factories. They were asked for medical care utilization behavior and worksite medical care demand. 121 employers(72.5%), 145 office personnels(86.8%) and 816 workers(60.5%) answered the questionnaire. The other subjects were doctors, nurses and administrators in 66 Group Health Service Agencies nationwide. They were asked for intention of offering worksite medical care in Group Health Service Agency through the mail survey. 31 doctors (47.0%), 38 nurses (57.6%) and 34 administrators answered the questionnaire. Results : 87 percentage of doctors and 94 percentage of nurses had experiences of being requested to prescribe and laboratory examination. All nurses, 94 percentage of administrators and 76 percentage of doctors thought that it was necessary to give medical treatment at worksite. Also in worksite 85 percentage of employers, 86 percentage of office personnels and 81 percentage of workers answered that they accepted the worksite medical care when it would be given. Conclusions : Worksite medical care should be permitted because almost of all workers and employers requested worksite medical care, and doctors and nurses in Group Health Service Agency were willing to give worksite medical care and there was necessity to prevent occupational cerebrovascular disease.

      • In Vitro and in Vivo Evaluation of Phenylbutenoid Dimers as Inhibitors of P-Glycoprotein

        <P>The expression of P-glycoprotein (P-gp), an ATP-dependent efflux transporter, is closely associated with the failure of chemotherapy and drug absorption. Two synthesized optically active phenylbutenoid dimers, 3<I>S</I>-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-4<I>R</I>-{(<I>E</I>)-3,4-dimethoxystyryl}cyclohex-1-ene (<B>1</B>) and 3<I>R</I>-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-4<I>S</I>-{(<I>E</I>)-3,4-dimethoxystyryl}cyclohex-1-ene (<B>2</B>), were tested for their P-gp inhibitory effects by measuring cellular accumulation and efflux of daunomycin in P-gp-overexpressed human breast cancer cells (MCF-7/ADR). Compound <B>2</B> significantly increased the accumulation of daunomycin (539%) and decreased the efflux of this compound (55.4%), and similar results were observed for <B>1</B>. ATPase assays and Western blot analysis were performed to identify the mechanisms by which compounds <B>1</B> and <B>2</B> inhibit P-gp. In addition, changes in the pharmacokinetic profile of paclitaxel coadministered with <B>2</B> in rats were evaluated. Paclitaxel (25 mg/kg) when orally administered with <B>2</B> (5 mg/kg) improved its relative bioavailability by 185%. Compound <B>2</B> effectively improved cellular accumulation by reducing the efflux of daunomycin and significantly enhanced oral exposure to paclitaxel.       • Long-lasting and bioactive hyaluronic acid-hydroxyapatite composite hydrogels for injectable dermal fillers: Physical properties and in vivo durability

        <P>Hyaluronic acid (HAc)-hydroxyapatite (HAp) composite hydrogels were developed to improve the biostability and bioactivity of HAc for dermal filler applications. Two kinds of HAc-HAp composite fillers were generated: HAcmicroHAp and HAc-nanoHAp composites. HAc-microHAp was fabricated by mixing HAp microspheres with HAc hydrogels, and HAc-nanoHAp was made by in situ precipitation of nano-sized HAp particles in HAc hydrogels. Emphasis was placed on the effect of HAp on the durability and bioactivity of the fillers. Compared with the pure HAc filler, all of the HAc-HAp composite fillers exhibited significant improvements in volumetric maintenance based on in vivo tests owing to their reduced water content and higher degree of biointegration between the filler and surrounding tissues. HAc-HAp composite fillers also showed noticeable enhancement in dermis recovery, promoting collagen and elastic fiber formation. Based on their long-lasting durability and bioactivity, HAc-HAp composite fillers have great potential for soft tissue augmentation with multifunctionality.</P>

        심장수술 시 농축적혈구, 자가수혈기 혈액, 체외 순환기 혈액에서의 유리 혈색소 농도 비교

        Background: Intraoperative autotransfusion or residual blood in a cardiopulmonaty bypass (CPB) circuit has been used to reduce the need for an homologous blood transfutsion during cardiac surgery. However, it may contain some free hemoglobin released from damaged cells. The load of blood containing free hemoglobin may cause renal dysfunction. We measured the amount of free hemoglobin in backed blood, cell saver blood and CPB blood to evaluate what is the least hemolytic blood transfused in cardiac surgery. Methods: This study was performed in 20 patients undergoing cardiac surgery. In each patient, the banked blood, intraoperative salvaged blood with a cell saver and CPB residual blood were sampled at the end of the operation. The concentration of free hemoglobin, hemoglobin and platelet counts were measured in these blood samples and percent of hemolysis was calculated (%hemolysis = [free hemoglobin] / .free hemogloben + hemoglobin]) Results: In salvaged blood with a cell saver, CPB residual blood and banked blood, hemoglobin concentrations were 20.1 ± 2.7 g/dl, 8.0 ± 1.1 g/dl, and 22.2 ± 2.7 g/dl, respectively. Free hemoglobin concentrations were 336.6 ± 239.5 mg/dl, 49.2 ± 26.8 mg/dl, and 279.5 ± 167.5 mg/dl respectively. Platelet counts were 26.1 ± 22.2 × 10^3/mm^3, 116.8 ± 56.5 × 10^3/mm^3, and 94.9 ± 43.6 × 10^3/mm^3 respectively. % Hemolysis were 1.6 ± 1.1%, 0.6 ± 0.4%, and 1.2 ± 0.7% respectively. In the comparison between the salvaged blood with a cell saver and CPB residual blood, free hemoglobin concentration, % hemolysis, and platelet counts had positive correlations (r = 0.8, 0.7, and 0.6). Conclusions: In twenty cardiac surgeries, CPB residual blood had a lower free hemoglobin level than the other two blood groups. The platelet counts in CPB residual blood were higher than those in cell saver blood but did not differ from those in banked blood. Therefore, CPB residual blood was the least hemolytic blood among the three blood groups when a transfusion was performed in cardiac surgery. (Korean J Acesthesiol 2002; 43: 588~593)

        着衣量이 運動能力에 미치는 影響에 關한 硏究 : 幼稚園 兒童을 中心으로 Focusing on the Kindergartners

        As the culture develops, the body of children nowadays improves, but their physical fitness is weaker than that of children in the past. If physical fitness strengthens through clothing, this must be the easiest and the most efficient long-range training method. To find out the solutions on the above mentioned problems through clothing, this study was made for the analysis of the correlations of clothing weight and physical fitness. The children's endurance upon cold can be explained by the physical fitness, and has relation with the clothing insulat-on. Therefore, motor ability was measured as an index of physical fitness and clothing weight was measured as an index of insulation. This observation was made in Spring and Fall, 1985, in which 339 kindergartners and their mothers were the subject. The results of the study were as follows: Physical fitness of children decreased in proportion to the clothing weight, and especially this can be seen in boys rather than in girls, and in Fall rather than in Spring. In case of the children who spent more time outdoors rather than indoors, who played in larger space, and who didn't have meat frequently, it turned out that their clothing weight was surprisingly lessened and their physical fitness was highly good.

        Strong and Biostable Hyaluronic Acid–Calcium Phosphate Nanocomposite Hydrogel via in Situ Precipitation Process

        <P>Hyaluronic acid (HAc) hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, but it has limited biomedical application due to its poor biomechanical properties as well as too-fast enzymatic degradation. In this study, we have developed an in situ precipitation process for the fabrication of a HAc-calcium phosphate nanocomposite hydrogel, after the formation of the glycidyl methacrylate-conjugated HAc (GMHA) hydrogels via photo-cross-linking, to improve the mechanical and biological properties under physiological conditions. In particular, our process facilitates the rapid incorporation of calcium phosphate (CaP) nanoparticles of uniform size and with minimal agglomeration into a polymer matrix, homogeneously. Compared with pure HAc, the nanocomposite hydrogels exhibit improved mechanical behavior. Specifically, the shear modulus is improved by a factor of 4. The biostability of the nanocomposite hydrogel was also significantly improved compared with that of pure HAc hydrogels tinder both in vitro and in vivo conditions.</P>
