In this study, a multi-objective optimum design method for large structures is proposed. This method has been found to be a very effective means of optimizing multi-objective problems considering cost and deflection functions. It may be difficult to optimize large structures using a conventional optimization, since the structures have a large number of members. So, the previous studies in this laboratory have demonstrated that a multi-level algorithm is introduced in which the specific feature of large structures are considered. Pareto curves can be obtained by performing the multi-objective optimization for large structures using the multi-level technique. The approach is illustrated for orthotropic steel deck bridges. A reasonable and economical designs can be carried out by applying the Pareto curves to the cost and deflection functions of the bridges. Thus, it may be found that more reasonable design values could be determined based on a comparison with those by a conventional design procedure.

As an investigation to develop novel antitumor immunotherapeutic agents, four protein-poly-saccharide fractions from Korean wild mushrooms were subjected to a flow cytometric analysis for their in vitro lymphoblastogenic activities on the BALB/c mouse splenic lymphocytes. Of these, the protein-poly-saccharide fractions of Russula alboareolata, Russula compacta and Laccaria amethystea not only showed lymphoblastogenic activity, but also increased the viability of the lymphocytes, while that of Russula nitrata exerted marked cytocidal activity.
토끼 신장 근위세뇨관 일차 배양 세포에서 Bradykinin의 Phospholipase D(PLD)에 의한 신호 전달 기전

Recently, phospholipase D (PLD) is known to be involved in several bioactive materials-mediated signal transduction pathway. In order to investigate how bradykinin works in renal tissue, we in this study wants to figure out whether bradykinin mediates its physiological actions through activation of PLD or not. Bradykinin, which is a well known neuroactive peptide and plays many important physiological roles as vasodilatation, hyperalgia, has been reported to activate PLD in PC12 cells. As a corollary of our experimental results, we are first group ever to reveal the positive involvement of PLD in bradykinin-mediated signal transduction mechanism in the rabbit kidney proximal tubule cells.

It is necessary to select rational inspection method and adequate equipment for the underwater environment, since underwater inspection is carried out under special environmental conditions that differ from those on the ground, including a pressurized condition, difficulty of access, defects in equipment/device waterproofing systems, and the safety of the inspection staff. Recently, flatboats or dedicated inspection vessels are being used instead of inspection boats in advanced countries to obtain safe and objective inspection data for underwater structures. In addition, underwater sonar equipment is being used to ensure safety and obtain objective data. This study is to develop the efficient methodology of underwater inspection and in the water unmanned inspection equipment to prevent safety accidents.

This study presents a determination of optimum types for ITS(Intelligent Transport Systems) civil structures. The determination of types for the structures is considered to be an important subject since the structures are generally constructed on the city center. The safeties, aesthetic values, promptness of construction and working conditions are especially considered to plan and design the structures. This paper described the determination progress of types for the structures at the jeonju city-planning, designing of superstructure and foundation. Form the results of types for the structures, it may be positively stated that the determination progress of the design for the structures should be useful for designing of other ITS structures.

Experiments were conducted to find out the optimum cultural conditions for micro-cross sectioned leaf segments of Gypsuphila paniculata L. Gerbera hybrida and Dianthus caryophyllus. Survival percentages of micro-cross sectioned segments were the highest in gypsophila, followed by carnation. Gerbera showed on survived segments. In gypsophila, segments thicker than 400㎛ were required to obtain over 75% survival. The percentage of adventitious bud formation was much higher with 600㎛ segment as compared with 400㎛. The regeneration of micro-cross sectioned segments of gypsophila was not sensitively affected by the auxins at varying concentrations. The elongation of adventitious shoot was promoted by kinetin compared with BA. In segments of 600㎛ thickness, adventitious shoot formation was promoted by BA compared with kinetin Adventitious shoot formation or shoot growth was not affected by KNO_3 concentrations with the segments of 400㎛ thickness. But adventitious shoot elongation was promoted significantly with segments in 600㎛ thickness. KH_2PO_4 (170 mg/1, standard concentration of MS medium) was effective for adventitious shoot formation. MgSO_4 also promoted adventitious shoot formation myo-Inositol tended to be suppressed regeneration of gypsophila.

The main interest is to know how visual experience changes in accordance with the variation of formal characteristics and which formal characteristics have great influence on visual experience in high-rise apartment house.
