Characteristics of benthic macroinvertebrate communities at reference streams
Mi-Jung Bae,Hyunduk Cho,Tae-Sung Kwon,Jung Hwa Chun,Young-Seuk Park 한국응용곤충학회 2015 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2015 No.04
Benthic macroinvertebrates are sedentary and have an intermediate life span ranging from months to a few years. They play a key role as consumers in the food trophic structure by linking producers, top carnivores, and decomposers in aquatic communities. Therefore, they have been widely used for ecological assessment of aquatic ecosystem health in an integrative and continuous manner. In this study, we characterized benthic macroinvertebrate communities at reference sites, which are not disturbed. Benthic macroinvertebrates were collected seasonally with a Surber net at three different streams (Pocheon, Hongcheon, and Namhae). In addition, hydrological and physicochemical environmental factors including temperature, discharge, width, conductivity, dissolved oxygen and pH were also measured at each sampling site. Spatial and temporal differences of benthic macrointertebrate communities were analyzed based on community indices, functional guilds, etc. relating to their environmental factors. Multivariate analysis were used to characterize the relationships between communities and environmental factors. Benthic macroinvertebrates were significantly different among sampling sites reflecting differences of their environmental condition such as hydromorphological factors, meteorological factors, etc.
Interference-Aware Downlink Resource Management for OFDMA Femtocell Networks
( Hyunduk Jung ),( Jaiyong Lee ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2011 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.5 No.3
Femtocell is an economical solution to provide high speed indoor communication instead of the conventional macro-cellular networks. Especially, OFDMA femtocell is considered in the next generation cellular network such as 3GPP LTE and mobile WiMAX system. Although the femtocell has great advantages to accommodate indoor users, interference management problem is a critical issue to operate femtocell network. Existing OFDMA resource management algorithms only consider optimizing system-centric metric, and cannot manage the co-channel interference. Moreover, it is hard to cooperate with other femtocells to control the interference, since the self-configurable characteristics of femtocell. This paper proposes a novel interference-aware resource allocation algorithm for OFDMA femtocell networks. The proposed algorithm allocates resources according to a new objective function which reflects the effect of interference, and the heuristic algorithm is also introduced to reduce the complexity of the original problem. The Monte-Carlo simulation is performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm compared to the existing solutions.

<P>OFDMA femtocells in the macrocellular network of which frequency reuse factor is 1 cause serious interference to macrocell users, while the femtocells improve the performance of indoor users. In this letter, a novel downlink resource allocation algorithm for OFDMA femtocell networks is proposed to reduce interference between the macrocells and the femtocells. This algorithm allocates femtocell subchannels to avoid interference to macrocell users in the femtocell coverage, and minimizes the total transmission power of the femtocell to reduce the negative effect on the performance of the macrocell. Simulation results are provided to present the performance of the proposed algorithm.</P>
Vol.12 No.1

Network Mobility (NEMO) supports the movement of some part of network that a group of Mobile Nodes (MNs) or Mobile Routers (MRs) moves together. To support NEMO, the NEMO basic support protocol (NBSP) was proposed [1]. In the nested mobile network, however, the NBSP exhibits pinball routing problem. The More nesting level, the problem becomes more serious. In this paper, we propose a new NEMO management scheme using Collective Binding Update (CBU) and Mobile Network Prefix (MNP). It can achieve route optimization and easy to implement. Performance analysis indicates that proposed scheme can reduce packet delay with low processing and signalling overheads.
Delay Analysis of Voice Call Handover between UMTS CS, UMTS PS and WLAN
Kyungmin Kim,Hyunduk Jung,Jaiyong Lee,Eunhui Bae,Sungho Choi 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
In this paper, we analyze the handover delay performance of 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Voice Call Continuity (VCC). The result shows that the radio link is primary delay factor and network attachment procedure causes large proportion of latency. For worst case the handover delay can exceed 8 sec. Since this result is unacceptable, we need to optimized the handover process.
