Korean Semantic Annotation on the EXCOM Platform

We present an automatic semantic annotation system for Korean on the EXCOM (EXploration COntextual for Multilingual) platform. The purpose of natural language processing is enabling computers to understand human language, so that they can perform more sophisticated tasks. Accordingly, current research concentrates more and more on extracting semantic information. The realization of semantic processing requires the widespread annotation of documents. However, compared to that of inflectional languages, the technology in agglutinative language processing such as Korean still has shortcomings. EXCOM identifies semantic information in Korean text using our new method, the Contextual Exploration Method. Our initial system properly annotates approximately 88% of standard Korean sentences, and this annotation rate holds across text domains.

Discharge characteristics research for high voltage and large current electric machinery design, the development of ozonizer with high yield and efficiency for environment improvement, generation of plasma & laser and EMI·EMC are research fields of Enersy & Environment Electromagnetic Laboratory(EEEL) in the school of electrical & electronic engineering of Yeungnam University. On this paper, we would like to introduce the discharge and ozone generation characteristics of ozonizers designed and manufactured by EEEL. After starting research for fluid gas discharge characteristics early in the 1980"s, high voltage nozzle(HVN) type ozonizer, neon lamp(Nelamp) type ozonizer, ozone lamp(Olamp) type ozonizer and multi-discharge type ozonizer(MDO) have been investigated since 1990.

This study was conducted to discover a substitute of SF<SUB>6</SUB> gas. SF<SUB>6 </SUB>gas is widely used across the industries. Thanks to superior electrical properties, in particular, it has been commonly used in electrical industry. However, there have been a lot of studies on its serious effect on global warming. As a substitute of this synthetic gas, a mixture of dry air and N₂/O₂ was chosen in this study. In case of N₂/O₂, dielectric strength differs depending on the mixing ratio. This study examined dielectric breakdown and flashover after adjusting oxygen percentage in the dry air. This test was conducted in a quasi-uniform electric field depending on pressure, oxygen concentration and gas mixtures. The test results found that dielectric voltage and flashover voltage were the highest at a certain oxygen concentration. It is the results of this photoionization and electron attachment of oxygen.

It is very desirable that a mixture gas possessing excellent insulation performance is suggested for insulation on increasing high voltage. This paper proposes a SF<SUB>6</SUB> mixture gas based on the factors including dielectric strength, environmental impact and economic feasibility of manufacture for the insulation in eco-friendly power equipment. A suitable-SF<SUB>6</SUB> content was determined to improve the dielectric strength in N₂ and Dry Air. The examination results of the factors revealed that a SF<SUB>6</SUB>/Dry Air mixture gas possessing the SF<SUB>6</SUB> content was more appropriate than a SF<SUB>6</SUB>/N₂ mixture gas to the eco-friendly power equipment. In addition to the selection of the suitable SF<SUB>6</SUB> mixture gas, insulation characteristics as a function of SF<SUB>6</SUB> content were described from electron-detachment mechanism.
Dry Air/O₂ 혼합가스의 혼합비에 따른 절연파괴 및 연면방전 특성 연구

This paper presents the discharge characteristics and economic feasibility of a Dry Air/O₂ and a N₂/O₂ mixture gas in order to review SF6 alternative. From AC discharge experiment in an quasi-uniform field, it was found that the optimal N₂/O₂ mixing ratio which breakdown voltage and surface flashover voltage were the highest was 70/30 and that the pressure dependence on the breakdown voltage was higher than that of the surface flashover voltage in the Dry Air/O₂ and the N₂/O₂ mixture gas. The mixing ratio (70/30) and the tendency of the pressure dependence were described in detail based on physical factors (impact ionization coefficient, electron attachment coefficient, secondary electron emission coefficient) involved in discharge mechanism and a electron source, respectively. In addition, the performance insulation and the economic feasibility of the Dry Air/O₂ and the N₂/O₂ mixture gas were discussed so that Dry Air/O₂ mixture gaswas more suitable than N₂/O₂ mixture gas to the SF6 alternative.
