Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune disease that can affect any hair-bearing area. AA is known to be caused by immunological disorder but still, the pathogenesis is not fully understood. Many therapeutic modalities have been used to treat alopecia areata, with variable efficacy and safety profiles. Unfortunately, none of these agents is definitely curative or preventive alone. We studied hair growth efficacy and safety of Korean red ginseng (KRG) in AA comparing corticosteroid intra-lesional injection (ILI) alone patient group with ILI with KRG taking patient group using Folliscope 2.5 for 12 wk. Herein, we would like to report the efficacy of KRG in the treatment of AA and recommend KRG as a useful complimentary food for gaining efficacy of treatment for AA.

Improvement of the Ammonia Analysis by the Phenate Method in Water and Wastewater

The amount of phenol and NaOH for the colorimetric determination of ammonia in Korean standard methods (KSM) is found to be highly excessive compared to the standard methods of several other countries. The absorbance of indophenol formed by the Berthelot reaction for ammonia analysis was measured under the various reaction conditions classified in experiment groups 1, 2, 3, 4 and KSM and American standards methods (ASM), and the relationships between the absorbance of indophenol and concentration of ammonia were compared. The amount of phenol can be reduced to 10 g (current 25 g in KSM) and NaOH can be reduced to 1.76 g (current 11 g in KSM) for the preparation of 200 mL phenate solution, and the absorbance sensitivity increased. The concentration of the phenol and NaOH correlatively affect the pH of the solution, which is a critical variable in achieving the maximum sensitivity and rapid and stable color development.

OB-15 : Clinical characteristics of pregnancies complicated by congenital myotonic dystrophy

목적: The objective of this study was to investigate the clinical characteristics of pregnancies complicated by congenital myotonic dystrophy diagnosed in our institution. 방법: We retrospectively reviewed cases with congenital myotonic dystrophy of mothers and newborns admitted NICU and diagnosed after birth between July 2004 and May 2014 (6 inborn and 5 outborn babies). Clinical features including maternal history of infertility and prenatal ultrasonographic findings were reviewed from medical record available. The results from myotonic dystrophy protein kinase (DMPK) gene mutation test with the number of CTG repeat expansion from mothers and neonates were also assessed. 결과: All mothers were not aware of their own myotonic dystrophy traits before their pregnancies. History of infertility followed by assisted reproductive technology accounted for 57.1% (4/7). Median maternal age was 32 years old (range, 29-40). Median gestational age at delivery and neonatal birth weight were 35+6 week (range, 29+1-38+5) and 2850gm (range, 1380-3600) respectively. Most distinctive prenatal ultrasonographic finding was severe polyhydramnios (66.7%, 4/6) with median AFI of 43 (range, 37-66). In 37.5% (3/8) cases, decreased fetal movement was evident in prenatal ultrasound exam. Median hospital stay in NICU was 37 day (range, 5-397) and there was one infant death, which was complicated with hydrops. One-minute Apgar score <4 was 44.4% (4 /9) and five-minute Apgar score <7 was 66.7% (6/9). Median number of CTG repeat of mothers and neonates were 400 (range, 166-1000) and 1300 (range, 700-2700), respectively. 결론: Our data suggests that severe polyhydramnios with decreased fetal movement in pregnant women especially with a history of infertility requires a differential diagnosis of congenital myotonic dystrophy.
휴먼형 로봇 손의 사물 조작 수행을 이용한 인간 행동 복제 강화학습 정책 최적화 방법 성능 평가

로봇이 사람과 같이 다양하고 복잡한 사물 조작을 하기 위해서 휴먼형 로봇손의 사물 파지 작업이 필수적이다. 자유도 (Degree of Freedom, DoF)가 높은 휴먼형(anthropomorphic) 로봇손을 학습시키기 위하여 사람 데모(human demonstration)가 결합된 강화학습 최적화 방법이 제안되었다. 본 연구에서는 강화학습 최적화 방법에 사람 데모가 결합된 Demonstration Augmented Natural Policy Gradient (DA-NPG)와 NPG 의 성능 비교를 통하여 행동 복제의 효율성을 확인하고, DA-NPG, DA-Trust Region Policy Optimization (DA-TRPO), DA-Proximal Policy Optimization (DA-PPO)의 최적화 방법의 성능 평가를 위하여 6 종의 물체에 대한 휴먼형 로봇손의 사물 조작 작업을 수행한다. 그 결과, DA-NPG 와 NPG를 비교한 결과를 통해 휴먼형 로봇손의 사물 조작 강화학습에 행동 복제가 효율적임을 증명하였다. 또한, DA-NPG 는 DA-TRPO 와 유사한 성능을 보이면서 모든 물체에 대한 사물 파지에 성공하여 가장 안정적이었다. 반면, DA-TRPO 와 DA-PPO 는 사물 조작에 실패한 물체가 존재하여 불안정한 성능을 보였다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 방법은 향후 실제 휴먼형 로봇에 적용하여 휴먼형 로봇 손의 사물조작 지능 개발에 유용할 것으로 전망된다.
임베디드 실시간 객체 인식을 위한 Low-level Feature Aggregation 및 Attention 기반 검출 모델 개발

자율 주행(Autonomous Driving) 환경에서 실시간 객체 인식과 정확한 객체 인식은 차량의 안전 주행을 위한 핵심 요소이다. 최근 One-stage Detector 기반의 경량화된 모델들은 실시간 객체 인식이가능하나 성능 면에서는 좋지 않은 결과를 보여왔다. 이에 본 논문에서는 YOLOv4-tiny 기반의 새로운 모델을 제안한다. 빠른 추론 속도는 유지하면서 성능 향상을 위해 본 논문에서는 3가지 기법을 적용한다. 첫 번째로는 작은 물체의 검출 성능을 높이기 위해 YOLO Head를 하나 더 추가하였다. 두 번째로는 Low-level의 특징들을 더 깊은 층으로 전달하기 위해 Low-level Feature Aggregation(LFA) 기법을 사용하였다. 그리고 세 번째로는 관심 객체의 특징에 더 집중할 수 있도록 Attention 모듈을 사용하였다. 안전 주행 및 주행 경로 안내를 위해 실제 차량 주행 영상에서의노면 마크(Roadmark)와 색깔 유도선(Colored-guideline)을 검출 대상으로 선정하였으며 Jetson Tx2 임베디드 환경에서 실험을 진행하였다. 그 결과 해당 환경에서 기존 방법 대비 가장 좋은 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.
