        보조호르몬요법을 받는 여성 유방암 환자의 모발 변화와 치료 실태에 대한 기초 연구

        Background: Hormone therapy, which includes tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors, is the most common adjuvant therapy used for breast cancer. However, only a few studies have reported endocrine therapy induced alopecia. Objective: We investigated the effects of long-term adjuvant hormone therapy on hair in patients with breast cancer, in addition to patients’ concerns and current treatment for hair loss. Methods: Patients completed a questionnaire that included information on self-perceived hair changes after each adjuvant therapy session, distress, and current treatment for hair loss. Using a folliscope, we measured hair density and thickness in each patient and in healthy controls. Results: The study included 93 patients with breast cancer (mean age 51.9±9.8 years). The density and hair thickness were 106.36±21.85 hairs/cm2 and 0.07±0.01 mm in the patient group and 147.86±30.67 hairs/cm2 and 0.07±0.01 mm in the control group (n=98, mean age 52.10±8.40 years), respectively. The mean hair density was significantly lower in the patient group than in the control group; however, no statistically significant intergroup difference was observed in hair thickness. Among 76 patients who perceived hair changes after adjuvant therapy, 71.1% (n=54) were distressed with regard to hair changes. However, only 7.8% of the patients, including two who were treated by dermatologists, currently received treatment for hair changes. Conclusion: Dermatologists should be familiar with hair changes in patients with breast cancer and provide appropriate education to encourage patients to consult dermatologists for hair loss and thinning after breast cancer treatment.       • Hypersensitivity Reaction Incidence Patterns and Risk Factors of Iodinated Contrast Media

        본 연구의 조사 대상은 본 원 에서 요오드화 조영제를 정맥으로 투여받고 CT 검사를 시행한 72,910명과 과거 조영제 과민반응을 겪었던 환자 2,798명을 대상으로 후향적 조사를 시행하였다. 나이, 성별, 과민반응 증상, 조영제 과민반응 기왕력 환자 전처치방법, 사용한 조영제 등을 분석하였다. 조영제 과민반응 발생은 여성과 60대 미만에서 발생 위험이 높고 과거 조영제 과민반응기왕력이 있더라도 적절한 전처치 약물 투여, 조영제 성분 변경을 시행하면 과민반응 발생 위험이 감소한다. 조영제 성분별과민반응 발생률은 Iopromide가 유의하게 과민반응 발생률이 높았고, Iohexol과 Ioversol이 낮은 발생률을 보였다. 조영제 과민반응 재발을 예방하기 위해서는 전처치 약물 단독 사용보다 선행적으로 원인 조영제를 재사용하지 않고 다른 성분의 조영제로 변경하여 사용하는 것이 우선적으로 시행되어야 하고 더불어 전처치 약물 투여와 함께하는 것이 재발을 예방할 수 있을 것이다. The subjects of this study were 2,798 patients who experienced hypersensitivity reaction of contrast media among 72,910 who had had iodinated contrast media administered intravenously and CT examination at our hospital. Retrospective survey was conducted with these subjects. Their age, gender, hypersensitivity reaction symptoms, prepare methods for the patients who had previous hypersensitivity reaction of contrast media, and contrast media administered were analyzed. When it came to the hypersensitivity reaction incidence of contrast media, women and patients aged less than 60 had the high risk of the reaction. Even if patients had previous contrast media hypersensitivity reaction, their hypersensitivity reaction incidence risk was reduced as they had an appropriate premedication drug administered and contrast media were changed. Regarding the hypersensitivity reaction incidence rate by contrast media, Iopromide’s hypersensitivity reaction incidence rate was significantly high, whereas Iohexol and Ioversol had low incidence rates. In order to prevent contrast media hypersensitivity reaction recurrence, it is preferentially necessary to change a contrast media to a different one without reuse of causative contrast media, rather than to use a premedication drug only. Along with that, it is necessary to administer a premedication drug.

        In vitro Screening of Jeju Medicinal Plants for Cosmeceutical Materials

        One of the important functions of skin is protection from harmful environments. Many studies have explored how to prevent skin from wrinkling and the occurrence of pigmentation changes. Skin wrinkling and pigmentation changes could be caused by unusual disruption of connective tissue, the formation of free radicals and ultraviolet radiation. In this study, extracts obtained from 254 different kinds of Jeju medicinal plants were screened for inhibitory effects on tyrosinase and elastase, and for free radical scavenging effects. Four herbs, Phormium tenax, Morus bombycis, Morus alba, and Cudrania tricuspidata, were potent inhibitors of tyrosinase ($IC_{50}$ values 4.62, 5.46, 8.17, and 64.17 ${\mu}g$/mL, respectively). Aleurites fordii [$IC_{50}$: 5.29 ${\mu}g$/mL, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH)], Distylium racemosum ($IC_{50}$: 6.14 ${\mu}g$/mL), Acer palmatum ($IC_{50}$: 5.44 ${\mu}g$/mL), and Spiraea salicifolia ($IC_{50}$: 5.25 ${\mu}g$/mL) showed good antioxidative effects. Furthermore, Distylium racemosum ($IC_{50}$: 7.51 ${\mu}g$/mL), Diospyros kaki ($IC_{50}$: 15.1 ${\mu}g$/mL), Cornus macrophylla ($IC_{50}:$ 16.59 ${\mu}g$/mL), and Psidium guajava ($IC_{50}$: 40.25 ${\mu}g$/mL) exhibited potent inhibitory effects on elastase. These results suggest that medicinal plants possessing several biological activities may be potent inhibitors of the processes involved in pigmentation increases and aging. Further investigations will focus on in vivo assays and on the chemical identification of the major active components responsible for whitening and anti-aging activity in the screened efficacious extracts.

      • Intense Walking Exercise Affects Serum IGF-1 and IGFBP3

        <P><B>Background</B></P><P>Insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) is associated with chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension, as well as muscle dysfunction. Previous studies of exercise interventions yield controversial results regarding plasma IGF-1, IGFBP3, and IGF-1/IGFBP3 ratio. In this study, we examined whether 100 km walking exercise affects serum levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP3 and IGF-1/IGFBP3 ratio. We also investigated several metabolic-related blood parameters before and after walking.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>Participants were 14 healthy middle aged men (41.0 ± 6.78 years of age). We assessed body composition and measured metabolic-related blood indicators, such as such as lipid profiles, glucose, renal and hepatic metabolic bio-markers before and after a 100 km walking race. Blood samples from all participants were taken before and immediately after the walkathon. We also analyzed serum levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP3, and calculated the IGF-1/IGFBP3 ratio.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>After participants completed a 100 km walking race, some of their metabolic profiles were markedly changed. Serum levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP3 were significantly decreased, and therefore the IGF-1/IGFBP3 ratio also decreased before and after 100 km of walking.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>Our results indicate that intense walking exercise affects serum levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP3 as well as metabolic bio-markers including high density cholesterol, glucose and triglycerides.</P>

        Sports and Culture: Exploration for the Thought of Diversity and Historical Approach

        Purpose: This study started with interest in sport culture and is meaningful as an exploratory study to help with the basic understanding of sport culture research. Research design, data, and methodology: The approach of this study is the exploratory approach by literature reviews. This study carried out exploratory research on thinking about diversity of sports culture and the development process of sports culture by human history periods. Results: First, in thinking about cultural diversity, cultural absolutism and cultural relativism were identified. The characteristics of sports culture can identify universality, individuality and diffusion, and the attributes of sports culture included sharing, learning, accumulation, whole systematic relationship and change. Second, the characteristics of sports culture were identified by the approach of each historical era. The historical stages were divided into ancient civilizations, ancient Greece and Rome, middle ages and early modern period, and late modern period. Sports have historically been found to have a British-centered European origin or popularized in the United States. Conclusions: with the characteristics of modern sports culture, the globalization of sports culture, the prominence of sports industry and sports space marketing, and the symbiotic influence relationship of sports and mass media were examined and future directions were discussed.

        한국전자제조기업에서의 경쟁전략, 경쟁우선순위의 전략적 적합성에 관한 실증연구

        This study tries to examine the strategic fit of competitive strategies and competitive priorities in domestic electronic firms' manufacturing strategy. The strategic fit is accepted as a major factor in explaining the difference of firms' productivity performances. To set up strategic fit model, the previous research on manufacturing strategy model has been examined thoroughly. Based on proposed model composed of competition environments, core competences(competitive advantage and value chain), competitive strategies and competitive priorities, stepwise multiple regression was used as exploratory method to find significant types of internal strategic fit. The test results show that core competences(especially competitive advantage) have more impacts on competitive strategy than competition environments. In addition, there exist the significant types of strategic fit between competitive strategies and priorities. That is, differentiation strategy takes delivery priority and focusing takes flexibility.

        비감속 252Cf중성자선원에 대한 비등방성교정인자 및 선량당량환산인자

        중성자 측정장비 교정을 위한 표준중성자장을 제작하기 위하여 순수멕스월분포(kt=1.42MeV)로부터 ??Cf 자발핵분열 중성자선원의 밀봉이 교정인자에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. SR-Cf-100과 SR-Cf-1273 밀봉모형을 실제 제작조건으로 하여 MCNP 코드를 사용하여 몬테카를로 모의를 수행하여, 비등방성교정인자와 선속밀도-대-선량당량 환산인자를 산정하였고, 다른 연구결과와 비교하였다. 결과로서, Fi(θ=90˚)는 1.061(통계오차 : ±0.2%), H/??는 333.9[pSv·㎠] (통계오차 : ±0.5%)인 것으로 산정되었다. 이 환산인자(H/??)의 값은 ISO 8529의 권고보다 1.8%가 작은 것인데, 이것은 한국원자력연구소의 비감속 ??Cf중성자선원의 스펙트럼이 ISO의 것보다 약간 더 연화하다는 물리적 의미를 갖는다. Form the pure Maxwellian distribution(kT= 1.42MeV), the effects upon calibration factors of encapsulating a Cf spontaneous fission neutron source were invdwtigated to establish a standark neutron field in the Secondary Standark Kosimetry laboratory at Korea Atomic Inergy Research Institute(KAERI). A Monte Carlo code MCNP was used in simulating the encapsulation SR-Cf-100 and SR-Cf-1273 to be real conditions. The anisotropy(FI) and fluence-to-dose equivalents conversion factors(H/Φ) were evaluated and compared with other results. As the results, the FI was determined to be 1.061 atθ=90˚ with ±0.2% statistical error and the (H/Φ) was evaluated to be 333.9 [pSv·㎠] with ±0.5% statistical error, which is lower by 1.8% than that recommended by the ISO 8529. This means physically that the neutron spectrum of the unmoderated Cf source in KAERI is a little more softened than that by the ISO.

      • Polyimide계 배향막의 합성과 그 입체구조가 액정분자의 프리틸트 각에 미치는 영향

        Polyimide계 배향막은 고온처리 등 디스플레이 제조공정을 거치면서도 액정 배향특성이 유지되며 장시간 사용에도 물리·화학적 안정성이 좋은 장점을 가지고 있어 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 배향막을 연구하는데 있어서 합성기술과 러빙처리에 따른 배향막 표면의 특성분석이 필수적이며, 본 연구에서는 Diamine과 Dianhydride를 NMP용매하에서 용액중합하여 polyamic acid를 합성한 후, ITO코팅된 유리표면위에 스핀개스팅하여 박막을 입히고 열적처리를 하여 이미드화시켰다. 배향막의 배향을 위해서 러빙처리를 하고, 러빙처리 전후의 접촉각 측정을 통한 배향막 표면장력변화를 harmonic-mean 방법으로 구했고 2차 고조파 신호 (SHG) 분석을 통한 배향막 표면분자들의 방향성 분포를 검토해 보았다. Polyimide의 반복단위구조를 컴퓨터 그래픽 프로그램 (CS Chem3D Pro)을 사용하여 3차원적으로 시뮬레이션함으로서 polyimide의 입체구조를 알아보았다. 그리고 그 입체구조와 프리틸트 각과의 상관관계를 분자간 상호 작용설을 근거로 하여 살펴보았다. Polyimide has been widely used as the alignment film for liquid crystal displays because of their excellent properties, such as thermal can chemical stability. In this experiment, polyamic acid is rapidly formed at ambient temperatures when a diamine and a dianhydride are added into NMP. Polyimide films were fabricated by spin-coating solution on ITO-coated glass substrates. Polyimide films were baked at 80oC and then cured at 150oC 250oC for 30min at each temperature. The polyimide-coated substrates were rubbed by a rubbing machine with a roller. We measured the contact angles and the second-harmonic signals on the surface of samples to know the surface tension and the surface orientation of samples. and We also measured the pretilt angle of liquid crystal molecules in order to find the effect of the rubbing strength and the steric structure of polyimides on it.

        대량재해에 있어 미토콘드리아 DNA의 다형성을 이용한 개인식별

        The mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA) is a small extranuclear DNA molecule that has been sequenced in man. the mtDNA has distinct characteristics over nuclear DNA. First, the evolutionary rate of nucleotide substitution appears to be larger compared with the nuclear DNA. Second, mtDNA is maternally inherited, so the determination of the various haplotype is unequivocal and no recombination has to be involved. Third, there is a 1.1 kb long control region, which shows severe polymorphism. These characteristics have been applied for several evolutionary study. Furthermore, they exist in cytoplasm with numerous copy number and their size, 16,569 bp is small relative to nuclear DNA, so they are more resistant to degradation or can be types in samples with only cytoplasm such as hair shaft without hair root. These presented the possibility of mtDNA as a tool in individual identification, especially when the nuclear DNA be unavailable. Actually, polymorphism in control region has been applied to individual identification for the skeletal remain found in Vietnam war. So we decided to apply the polymorphism of mtDNA in control region for the individual identification in case of mass disaster-"Downfall of Sampoong Department". Human remains from total 27 different individuals and 178 control persons were submitted for the individual identification. As the mtDNA comparison could be done through maternal lineage, 12 individual from 9 families from the control group were ruled out, because these families were consisted of father or were seeking for their father. Sequencing for the mtDNA control region was done using ABI automatic sequencer and DyeDeoxy Terminator Cycle Sequencing Kit. For convenience, sequencing reaction was done for two separate control region, region I from 16016-16401 in Anderson sequence, and regionⅡ from 048-388. First, sequences in regionⅡ of all samples and control persons were compared, and 20 samples were ruled out with no identical sequences in control group. Remaining 7 samples showed identical sequences with some of the control persons in three groups, and these identical pairs underwent mtDNA region I study. After region I study all samples except two dropped out in blood relationship. For the confirmation, STR and VNTR study such as MCT118, apoB, YNZ22, vWF, MBP, D21S11, TC-11 were done for remaining the two samples. The result denied the blood relationship between these two samples and any of the control group.
