[논문]강합성 플레이트 2-거더교의 여유도 평가에 관한 해석적 연구

본 연구에서는 단재하경로 구조로 인식되는 강합성 플레이트 2-거더교의 여유도 평가를 위한 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 여유도 평가는 3 경간 연속교를 대상으로 수직브레이성은 I-단면 가로보로 적용하고 하부 수평브레이싱은 설치된 경우와 설치되지 않은 경우로 구분하였다. 그리고l 정상 교량 및 한 개 거더에 심각한 손상을 가정한 손상 교량에 대해 하부 수평브레이싱의 설치 유 · 무에 따른 내하 성능을 재료 및 기하비선형 해석으로부터 결정하고 각 경우의 여유도를 비교 평가하였다.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a stress-related mental disorder induced by severe external stressors such as assault, disaster or severe accident. We investigated the effects of treadmill exercise on short-term memory in relation to apoptosis and cell proliferation in the hippocampus following PTSD. Stress to the pregnant rats was induced by exposure of maternal rats to the hunting dog in an enclosed room. Exposure time was 10 min, repeated three times per day, with 1 hour interval. Exposure of maternal rats to the hunting dog was continued 7 days after pregnancy until delivery. The pregnant rats in the exercise groups were forced to run on a treadmill for 30 min once a day for the same duration of stress exposure. Step-down avoidance task for short-term memory, western blot for Bcl-2, Bax, and immunohistochemistry for caspase-3, 5-bromo-2`-deoxyuridine (BrdU), and Ki-67 were conducted. Maternal rats exposed to stress during pregnancy showed short-term memory impairment. Expressions of Bax, Bcl-2, ratio of Bax to Bcl-2, and caspase-3 in the hippocampus were increased in the PTSD rats. Cell proliferation in the hippocampal dentate gyrus was decreased in the PTSD rats. Treadmill exercise alleviated short-term memory impairment and suppressed expressions of Bax, the ratio of Bax to Bcl-2, and caspase-3. Treadmill exercise also increased cell proliferation. The present results indicate that treadmill exercise alleviated PTSD-induced short-term memory impairment by suppressing apoptotic cell death and enhancing cell proliferation in the hippocampus.

To study the effects of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors on cognition of patients with schizophrenia, we investigated the impact of galantamine administration on the cognitive impairments in patients with chronic schizophrenia. A 12-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of galantamine as adjunctive treatment to conventional antipsychotic drugs was conducted in 24 patients with schizophrenia. Subjects had been stabilized on conventional antipsychotic drugs (chlorpromazine equivalent dose 1,390mg/day) for a minimum of 3 months. The subjects were evaluated at baseline, and after 6 and 12 weeks using the Korean version of the Mini Mental State Examination (K-MMSE), Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS), and a standard neuropsychological battery. Compared to placebo, galantamine produced only a small and non-significant improvement on cognitive measures. However, the score for recognition on the Rey Complex Figure Test (RCFT) was significantly improved in patients given galantamine (p<0.05). Of the several domains of cognitive functions assessed, galantamine tended to improve the score for recognition on the Hopkins Verbal Learning Test (HVLT) and for color on the Stroop Tests (p<0.1). The K-MMSE scores did not change significantly in patients given galantamine and the changes of the psychiatric symptoms were not significant. Galantamine was relatively well tolerated. Addition of galantamine to patients with schizophrenia did not dramatically improve measures of cognition or psychopathology. Further studies that include larger sample sizes are required to investigate the role of galantamine as a cognitive enhancer in schizophrenia.
The Neuroprotective Effects of Cinnamic Aldehyde in an MPTP Mouse Model of Parkinson’s Disease

<P>Cinnamic aldehyde (CA), a key flavor compound in cinnamon essential oil, has been identified as an anti-oxidant, anti-angiogenic, and anti-inflammatory material. Recently, the neuroprotective effects of CA have been reported in various neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson’s disease (PD). In neurons, autophagy is tightly regulated, and consequently, the dysregulation of autophagy may induce neurodegenerative disorders. In the present study, we found that the selective dopaminergic neuronal death in the substantia nigra of 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) mouse models was prevented by CA. Stimulation of microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 (LC3) puncta mediated by MPTP treatment was decreased by CA. Moreover, down-regulated p62 in the substantia nigra of MPTP mice was increased by administration of CA. Finally, we showed that blockage of autophagy using autophagy inhibitors protected the 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP<SUP>+</SUP>)-mediated death of BE(2)-M17 cells. Together these results suggest that CA has a neuroprotective effect in a PD model and that inhibition of autophagy might be a promising therapeutic target for PD.</P>

Lake Doam watershed was surveyed to evaluate non-point source discharge characteristics and discharge load including several water quality parameters in Song Stream from July 2009 to July 2011. Concentrations of water pollutants were high during the rainfall period, especially, SS, TP and COD showed increasing tendencies toward cumulative water discharge but TN did not show much difference. SS, TP and COD had an initial flush effect of over 50 mm rainfall event but there was no clear tendency for rainfalls below that level. Event mean concentration (EMC) regarding the rainy and dry period showed large differences. Especially rainy season EMC (SS, TP, COD) demonstrated an increasingly high tendency. EMCs of COD, SS, TN and TP measured for twelve rain events were as high as 26.1, 866.0, 4.68 and 0.605 mg L--1, respectively. COD, SS, TN and TP loadings from the highland agricultural region of the Song Stream watershed were 34,263, 1,250,254, 2,673 and 933 kg yr--1 km--2, respectively, which were relatively higher than the results of other stream systems. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that long-term monitoring and non-point pollution reduction programs for the highland agricultural area to continue. Furthermore, this non-point source pollution loading research acquired from the highland agricultural area could be the base for reassessment.
