        Regulation of precursor solution concentration for In-Zn oxide thin film transistors

        The tunable electronic performance of the solution-processed semiconductor metal oxide is of great significance for the printing electronics. In current work, transparent thin-film transistors (TFTs) with indium-zinc oxide (IZO) were fabricated as active layer by a simple eco-friendly aqueous route. The aqueous precursor solution is composed of water without any other organic additives and the IZO films are amorphous revealed by the X-ray diffraction (XRD). With systematic studies of atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) and the semiconductor property characterizations, it was revealed that the electrical performance of the IZO TFTs is dependent on the concentration of precursor solution. As well, the optimum preparation process was obtained. The concentrations induced the regulation of the electronic performance was clearly demonstrated with a proposed mechanism. The results are expected to be beneficial for development of solution-processed metal oxide TFTs.

      • A Hyperlink-Extended Language Model for Microblog Retrieval

        Microblog retrieval has received much attention in recent years. In microblog retrieval, the content linked by URLs is one of the most important information of a microblog. We present a Hyperlink-extended model for microblog retrieval that combines content of microblogs and the content of embedded hyperlinks webpages using a probabilistic ranking function based on language model. Hyperlink-extended language model incorporates the users' information retrieval requirements and the microblog author’s expression needs. Using standard TREC 2011 and TREC 2012 microblog retrieval collection, various aspects of our microblog retrieval model are evaluated. Results show our model significantly outperform the art-of-the-state URL-based approaches and the best performance of TREC 2012 microblog retrieval.

        Gear fault identification and classification of singular value decomposition based on Hilbert-Huang transform

        An improved singular value decomposition method of gear fault identification based on Hilbert-Huang transform was proposed to overcome the problem of reconstructing a feature matrix of singular value decomposition. The method includes three steps. First, the instantaneous frequency and amplitude matrices were acquired by Hilbert-Huang transform from faulted gear signals. Second, after the matrices were decomposed by singular value decomposition, the defined distances of singular value vectors and the optimal threshold of the distance for classification were calculated. Third, the fault characteristics of a gearbox were identified and classified by the threshold of the distances. The result demonstrates that the proposed method effectively identifies the gear fault and can realize an automatic gear fault diagnosis.

      • A Temporal Microblog Filtering Model

        The rapid growth in the popularity of social networking and microblogging has led to a new way of finding and broadcasting information in the recent years. The real-time microblog filtering emerges as the times require. The task of real-time microblog filtering is to decide if subsequently posted tweets are relevant to a given query which represents the special information needs. One-side feedback is one of the most difficult problems in microblog filtering. This paper focuses on exploiting the time profile of relevant microblogs to address this problem. A temporal microblog filtering based on retrieval model is proposed. Specifically, similarity threshold achieved by the language model is adjusted according to temporal burst. Evaluated on the TREC 2012 microblog real-time filtering track dataset, the experimental results show that the proposed model is significantly better than several baselines.

        Sample-based Dynamic Event-triggered Algorithm for Optimization Problem of Multi-agent Systems

        The convex optimization problem of multi-agent systems is investigated. In order to deduce the communication burden of the system and simplify the implementation of the algorithm on the digital controllers, a sample-based event-triggered optimization algorithm is proposed and a novel dynamic event-trigged condition is designed. The global optimal solution can be obtained exponentially. The event-triggered time intervals are significantly enlarged by dynamic event-triggered condition. Moreover, Zeno behavior is excluded due to sampling control mechanism in our scheme. Two numerical cases are presented to validate the relevant results.

        The inflammation regulation effects of Enterococcus faecium HDRsEf1 on human enterocyte-like HT-29 cells

        Enterococcus faecium HDRsEf1 strain used as a probiotic to inhibit intestine inflammation and improve animal growth performance has been proved by our research team; however, it remains unclear how HDRsEf1 was recognized by intestine cells and how it activates the downstream pathway which benefit intestine health. In this study, HDRsEf1 was used to stimulate HT-29 cell line to partially uncover the intestine benefit mechanism of HDRsEf1. The results of cell viability assays showed that HDRsEf1 had no toxicity on HT-29 at concentrations up to 1 × 108 CFU/mL, HDRsEf1 could upregulate the TLR1, TLR2, and TLR6 mRNA level, especially TLR2, and significantly downregulate the mRNA level of TLR4, TLR5, TLR7, TLR8, but did not significantly affect the mRNA or protein level of MyD88, which suggests that HDRsEf1 activates the TLR2 pathway in an MyD88-independent pattern. HDRsEf1 could significantly downregulate the mRNA level of pro-inflammatory factors IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12p35, IL-17, and TNF-α and did not affect the anti-inflammatory factors IL-10, PPAR-γ, and TSLP; besides HDRsEf1 did not upregulate the degradation of IκB in HT-29 cells. By contrast, enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) O157:H7 strongly up-regulated the mRNA level of pro-inflammatory factors IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-23, and TNF-α, downregulated obviously anti-inflammatory factor PPAR-ɣ, and obviously upregulated the degradation of IκB, which suggested that HDRsEf1 may act as an antagonist to regulate intestine inflammation response to intestine pathogen. These findings shed a light on the intestine benefit mechanism of HDRsEf1.

        The Grain-Based Model Numerical Simulation of Unconfined Compressive Strength Experiment Under Thermal-Mechanical Coupling Effect

        PFC-GBM (Particle Flow Code-Grain Based Model) is the major and fundamental method to simulate rock behaviors in thispaper. Geo-materials are composed of micro-grains, the behavior of these grains and the interface between them influencemacroscopic behavior of materials. Traditional PFC simulation method could simulate the integral micro-behavior of material, andPFC-GBM simulation focuses on every different grains and interfaces to simulate micro-heterogeneity of material. In this paper, anattempt is made to investigate the strength of rock masses and the development of micro-cracks under thermal-mechanical couplingeffect. For this purpose, a numerical model is established based on mineral analysis and pre-existing mechanical experiments ofGranite from one of complex tunnels in Yunnan Province. After establishing the model, the specimen were first heated and thencompressed according to test sequence of laboratory experiments. The simulation results are calibrated to match the laboratory testresults including thermal behaviors and fracture development. The conclusion of simulations show that both of thermal behaviorsand fracture development are depended on the micro-heterogeneity of granite in UCS (Unconfined Compressive Strength)experiment, the characteristics of minerals influence the macroscopic fracture mechanism. The simulation reveals that in a certainrange of temperature (40oC ~ 90oC), temperature increasing enhance the brittle damage of granite. The situation of 130oC had theobvious thermal-crack before loading and then exhibited a much lower peak strength and failure strain. This numerical observationmay guide the underground construction in complex geo-environment.

      • An Brain Image Segmentation Method based on Non-local MRF

        Brain image segmentation is one of the most important parts of clinical diagnostic tools. However, accurate segmentation of brain images is a very difficult task due to the noise, inhomogeneity and sometimes deviation in brain images. Wells model incorporates the brain image segmentation and inhomogeneity correction into one framework to overcome influences from the intensity inhomogeneity and obtain good segmentation performance. However, the classical Wells model did not take spatial information into account, so its segmentation results are sensitive to the noise. In order to overcome this limitation, the MRF theory and the nonlocal information are used to construct a nonlocal Markov Random Field. With this nonlocal MRF, the improved Wells method can obtain much better segmentation results. The experimental results show that our method is robust to the noise and is able to simultaneously keep the image edge and slender topological structure very well.

        Blind signal separation for coprime planar arrays: An improved coupled trilinear decomposition method

        In this study, the problem of blind signal separation for coprime planar arrays is investigated. For coprime planar arrays comprising two uniform rectangular subarrays, we link the signal separation to the tensor-based model called coupled canonical polyadic decomposition (CPD) and propose an improved coupled trilinear decomposition approach. The output data of coprime planar arrays are modeled as a coupled tensor set that can be further interpreted as a coupled CPD model, allowing a signal separation to be achieved using coupled trilinear alternating least squares (TALS). Furthermore, in the procedure of the coupled TALS, a Vandermonde structure enforcing approach is explicitly applied, which is shown to ensure fast convergence. The results of Monto Carlo simulations show that our proposed algorithm has the same separation accuracy as the basic coupled TALS but with a faster convergence speed.
