We are currently in surroundings with ubiquitous software-embedded products, while there is less understanding on innovations of the invisible embedded software (ESW). Because of its significant role in automobiles and big market share in the Japanese ESW sector, automotive software (ASW) is selected as the case for our research on heterogeneity and typology of product innovation in ESW. Based on the embedded nature of ASW, the role of Japanese automobiles in the USA and the advantage of using patenting in large third countries as a good proxy measure for national innovation activities, we employ ASW-related patents in the USPTO patent database as an indicator of ASW product innovation. Through analysing the heterogeneities of product innovation in terms of function and actors’ innovation activities over the period 1981–2010 by classifying ASW functions into fields of power train control, battery and electric power control, safety control, body control and information communication and telecommunication system, we extract the product innovation typology of ESW and conclude that the heterogeneous requirements for real-time operation and accumulation of specific knowledge are the main reasons of heterogeneity of product innovation in ESW. These results imply different R&D strategies and innovation trajectories.
Almost sure central limit theorem for the maxima and sums of stationary Gaussian sequences

In this paper, we proved an almost sure central limit theorem for the maxima (after centered at the sample mean) and the partial sums of standardized stationary Gaussian sequences under some conditions related to the convergence rate of covariance functions,which extended the existing results.

THE NEW ALGORITHM FOR LDL^T DECOMPOSITION OF BLOCK HANKEL MATRICES

In this paper, with use of the displacement matrix, two special matrices are constructed. By these special matrices the block decompositions of the block symmetric Hankel matrix and the inverse of the Hankel matrix are derived. Hence, the algorithms according to these decompositions are given. Furthermore, the numerical tests show that the algorithms are feasible.

A self-assembled Al-bridged diiminopyridine-based ligand (3) was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, ESI-MS and NMR spectroscopy. Electron spectral titrations were performed to confirm the formation of a novel trinuclear bis(imino)pyridyl iron(II) complex (4) upon addition of FeCl2 into Al-bridged ligand 3 in methanol solution. Simultaneously, a typical bis(imino)pyridine-iron(II) complex (2) was synthesized and fully characterized. The X-ray crystal study of the iron(II) complex 2 disclosed a five-coordinate, distorted squarepyramidal structure with the tridentate N^N^N ligand and chlorides. The optimal molecular structure of 4 was obtained by means of molecular mechanics, which showed that each iron atom in the complex 4 is surrounded by two chlorides, a tridentate N^N^N ligand and one oxygen atom, supporting considerations about the possibility of six-coordinate geometry from MMAO or the ethylene access. A comparison of 4 with the reference 2 revealed a remarkable decrease of the catalytic activity and MMAO consumption (activity up to 0.41 × 10^3 kg molFe ^−1 h^−1 bar^−1, Al/Fe = 650 for 4 and 7.02 × 10^3 kg molFe ^−1 h^−1 bar^−1, Al/Fe = 1600 for 2).
Research on Partial Discharge Pattern Recognition in GIS Based on EFPI Sensor

An EFPI fber optic ultrasonic sensor can be used for the detection and pattern recognition of partial discharge ultrasonic signals in Gas Insulated Switchgear. Compared with traditional piezoelectric sensors, it has many advantages, such as high sensitivity and strong anti-interference ability. Based on this, four typical PD models of the tip, metal particles, suspension and creeping surface were set up in the GIS cavity flled with 0.4 MPa SF6 gas, and the EFPI sensor was innovatively used to detect the discharge ultrasonic signal and extract the single ultrasonic pulse signal. The waveform features form a feature parameter database, and the probabilistic neural network algorithm and the support vector machine algorithm are used for pattern recognition and comparative analysis, respectively. The ultrasonic signal detected by the EFPI sensor has prominent features. On the basis of extracting the feature parameters, the two pattern recognition algorithms can achieve an average recognition rate of more than 85%, and the recognition efect of the support vector machine is better than that of the probabilistic neural network

THE INVESTIGATION OF ATOMIC STRUCTURE AND ELECTRIC PROPERTY OF POLYCRYSTALLINE CdS(Se) FILMS

The spray-sintering process and thermal evaporation technique were appliced to fabrication of polycrystalline CdS(Se) films on glass substrate respectively. Their atomic structure and surface morphology were analyzed by XRD and SEM spectrometers. It was found that films made in spraysintering process were of the zince-blende structure but the films evaporated in vacuum showed a two-dimensional layer structure of atom stacked along c axis with a lattice parameter of $3.351{\AA}$. A variation of the conductivity with annealing temperature in air and nitrogen for sintered films with impurities has been ascribed to the mobility and the concentration of majority carrier. A increase of the electric conductance with temperature in any ambience for evaporated films was resulted from forming a conductive layer which promoted the mobilization of eletron or hole. The absorption and desorption of oxygen in subsequent annealing process has alos been discussed.
