Analysis of the Effects of Al on the Ductile-to-Brittle Transition Behavior of Ferritic Heat-Resistant Stainless Steels

        Yingbo Zhang,Dening Zou,Xiaoqiao Wang,Fengshe Xia,Yong Wang,Wei Zhang 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.7

The effect of Al content on the microstructure and ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) of 18Cr–Al–Si ferritic heatresistantstainless steel have been studied by Charpy impact testing over temperatures ranging from 20 to 90 ℃. Charpy impacttest results show that DBTT increased with increasing Al content. Meanwhile, fracture morphology changed with increasingAl content, where the amount of dimples decreased and cleavage facets increased, indicating increases in the tendency forbrittle fracture. Furthermore, ferrite grain size, volume fraction and size of (Cr, Fe)23C6 carbides increased with increasingAl content, which led to decreasing toughness and increasing DBTT.

Vol.39 No.4

This study focused on the aspect of diffusion communication rather than persuasive communication of online word of mouth on SNS, and verified the factors and influence relationships that influence the secondary word of mouth intention on SNS. While presenting the importance and necessity of research on secondary word of mouth, this study verifies the structural relationship between variables such as word of mouth information characteristics, sender characteristics, and recipient characteristics on SNS that influence the secondary word of mouth intention. The focus of this study was to examine the moderating effect of the conspicuousness. Research subjects were mainly young peoples who are actively using SNS, and respond to the questionnaire of this study while thinking of he most memorable relevant information (product reviews, recommendations, etc.) on SNS. The result of this study, it was found that the characteristics of word of mouth information such as consent, the characteristics of the sender such as professionalism, reliability and attractiveness had a positive effect on the secondary word of mouth intention. In addition, it was found that the conspicuousness, which is the individual characteristic of the recipient, moderates the relationship between consent, reliability and secondary word of mouth intention. Based on these research results, theoretical implications such as the importance and research direction of research on secondary word of mouth, or practical implications such as management of word of mouth on social media of companies were presented.

Vol.13 No.12

Purpose – Given globalization, the new niche market of medical tourism is likely to experience sustainable growth for various reasons, such as aging populations and a shift in the medical consumerism paradigm toward prevention. Importantly, understanding medical customers’ behavior is necessary to benefit from a competitive advantage in this industry. The existing research primarily accessed the key factors of medical quality and costs to explain health customers’ behavior but is limited in terms of enabling an understanding of the decision process. This limitation exists because, given the intangibility and greater associated risks in the highly professional industry of international medical tourism, most customers lack the knowledge and experience needed to evaluate the central factors—such as the medical competence of health care countries—before purchases. Therefore, they actively search for useful information through various distributions to reduce uncertainty and to make better choices. Interestingly, most of these information channels are associated with word-of-mouth (WOM). However, no evidence is found in the literature to estimate the effect of WOM in the medical tourism field. Thus, this study focuses on WOM to explore its interaction with key medical characteristic factors and the attractiveness of destinations referred to by sources. This study also affects customers’ evaluations and, in turn, influences their intention to seek health care services abroad. Research design, data, and methodology – The literature review addressed an interesting research model for estimating therelations among WOM, medical characteristics, attractiveness, and customers’ choice intention regarding international health care. In the key economic regions in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Guangdong, 2,500 survey questionnaires were distributed to potential customers of different ages, education, and income levels. A resulting 1,717 (68.68 percent of the original 2,500) usable surveys were obtained for analysis. Moderated regression analysis was used to determine the effects of WOM in the decision process regarding international health care destinations. Results – The results indicate that WOM is a good moderator of the relationships between the factors evaluated by sources and customers. More importantly, the WOM effects reflect the factors of tie strength, credibility, and vividness. The results also reveal that, given the moderating role of WOM, the intention of potential Chinese customers to seek the referred health care country varies according to the medical characteristics of medical competency and reputation as evaluated by customers. In contrast, the travel attractiveness of the attractions, facilities, accessibility, and social environment are critical determinants of destination choice intention. Conclusions – The moderating role of WOM has been confirmed through the international healthcare destination selection process. Medical tourism managers should user WOM as an effective marketing tool for industry development. Specially, marketers should consider the effects of WOM determinants, such as tie strength, credibility, and vividness, to develop an effective strategy. Furthermore, this study estimates the factors that affect customers’ selection of medical tourism destinations. Health care managers or policy makers should consider a broad variety of variables that may attract more Chinese customers to international health care.

A New Probe into the Teaching of Listening for Chinese as a Foreign Language.

Vol.11 No.1

News listening course is an essential course in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. However, due to the influence of mother tongue, the differences between classroom and real language and the influence of cultural factors, students are learning a lot and often lose confidence. By the results of the questionnaire survey, this paper puts forward some methods for the teaching content and means of the news listening class and proposes to establish a news listening corpus. It is hoped that these measures can help learners to master the news information quickly, improve their listening ability, develop their understanding of Chinese culture, and understand the problems of contemporary society.

      • Sexual Politics and Female Sexuality in Gish Jen’s Typical American

Vol.2 No.1

In Typical American(1991), Jen tells the stories of Ralph Chang and his intellectual family aspiring to make it into America’s middle and upper classes in the 1950s. She portrays women as resistant to sexism at home and in society. In this paper, I address the stories of women, namely, Helen, Ralph’s wife, and, Theresa, his elder sister, pertaining to their relationship with men in striving for their American dreams of individual freedom and autonomy. I argue that through the conflicts between men and women, Jen presents a tension between the self and family, which symbolizes the tension between her birth cultural value of family unity and her adopted cultural value of individual freedom. Calling for bridging the two cultures, Jen conveys that those who ignore one culture or the other are doomed.

The Word-of-Mouth Effects on the Chinese Customers’ Choice Intention of Medical Tourism Destination

Vol.14 No.7

to have more interest in researches on customers’ behavior. This research was to investigate empirically WOM effects on the intention of Chinese customers when they select an international medical tourism destination. Interestingly, WOM effects on their choice and decision process may vary by the extent of their severity of illness. Research design, data, and methodology – The data was collected from 1,747 potential Chinese residents in main districts of China. Moderated regression analysis was used to estimate WOM effects on Chinese customers’ choice intention. Results – Results imply that WOM determinants of tie strength, credibility, and vividness do interact with medical tourism information and affect customers’ intention for health care abroad. Results also reveal that the severity of illness plays a critical moderating role in customers’ decision process. Conclusions – WOM and the severity of illness are important moderators for Chinese customers to make a decision for medical tourism. It provides some implications for service organizations for developing and implementing marketing strategies in international health care markets.

Intrathecal Administration of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Reduces the Reactive Oxygen Species and Pain Behavior in Neuropathic Rats

2014 The Korean Journal of Pain Vol.27 No.3

Background: Neuropathic pain induced by spinal or peripheral nerve injury is very resistant to common pain killers, nerve block, and other pain management approaches. Recently, several studies using stem cells suggested a new way to control the neuropatic pain. In this study, we used the spinal nerve L5 ligation (SNL) model to investigate whether intrathecal rat mesenchymal stem cells (rMSCs) were able to decrease pain behavior, as well as the relationship between rMSCs and reactive oxygen species (ROS). Methods: Neuropathic pain of the left hind paw was induced by unilateral SNL in Sprague-Dawley rats (n = 10 in each group). Mechanical sensitivity was assessed using Von Frey filaments at 3, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, and 24 days post-ligation. rMSCs (10 μl, 1 × 105) or phosphate buffer saline (PBS, 10 μl) was injected intrathecally at 7 days post-ligation. Dihydroethidium (DHE), an oxidative fluorescent dye, was used to detect ROS at 24 days post-ligation. Results: Tight ligation of the L5 spinal nerve induced allodynia in the left hind paw after 3 days post-ligation. ROS expression was increased significantly (P < 0.05) in spinal dorsal horn of L5. Intrathecal rMSCs significantly (P < 0.01) alleviated the allodynia at 10 days after intrathecal injection (17 days post-ligation). Intrathecal rMSCs administration significantly (P < 0.05) reduced ROS expression in the spinal dorsal horn. Conclusions: These results suggest that rMSCs may modulate neuropathic pain generation through ROS expression after spinal nerve ligation.
