        Analysis of the Induction Heating for Moving Inductor Coil

        Induction heating is a process that is accompanied with magnetic and thermal situation. This paper presents a simulation of a magneto-thermal coupled problem of an induction heating process for moving inductor coil. In the magnetic and thermal analyses, temperature-dependent magnetic and thermal material properties were considered. As the inductor coil moves in the process, solution domains corresponding to inductor changes into those of the air, and the solution domains of air change into those of the inductor. For these reasons, modeling of induction heating process is very difficult with general purpose commercial programs. In this paper, induction heating process for moving coil was simulated with the concept of traveling the position of the heating planes. Finite element program was developed and finite element results were compared with the experimental results.

        Limonium tetragonum Reduces Osteoclast Formation and Resorption through Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase-c-Fos-NFATc1 Signaling Pathways

        Osteoporosis is caused by an imbalance of osteoclasts and osteoblasts, and the major treatment technique for treating osteoporosis is to reduce the activity of osteoclastic bone resorption. Limonium tetragonum (LT) is a medicinal plant that contains bioactive molecules with anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Its effects on osteoclastogenesis, however, remain unclear. Limonium tetragonum extract (LTE) was examined for its inhibitory effect on osteoclastogenesis by TRAP and pit formation assay. As a result, LTE also significantly reduced TRAP formation, the capability to resorb calcium phosphate-coated plates, and F-actin ring formation. LTE reduced RANKL-induced activation of the MAPKs ERK, JNK, and p38 and the production of the transcription factors c-Fos and NFATc1 required for osteoclastogenesis. LTE also reduced the expression of osteoclastogenesis-related genes such as matrix metalloproteinase-9, tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase, and receptor activator of NF-κB. These findings suggest that LTE might be a promising treatment option for bone disorders caused by aberrant osteoclast production and function.

        나탈리 제레미젠코의 환경개선 프로젝트

        This essay is on the environmental improvement of Natalie Jeremijenko. She is a scientific expert and eco artist, who has also found scientific and concrete ways to improve the environmental health. Jeremijenko uses interactive technologies for changing the status of nonhuman. With her ecological worldview, humans and nonhuman have a symbiotic relationship. Her project, 〈Ooz〉 was the paradoxical zoo that functioned on reciprocal reactions and observations between human and nonhuman. Jeremijenko, an Associate professor in Visual Art Department, directs the ‘xCLINIC the environmental health clinic+lab’ at NYU. The artist calls modern people ‘impatient’ one in her environmental health clinic because they refuse to wait for traditional legislative change to address environmental problems. She calls public experiments and products as xDesign, such as 〈Robotic Geese〉, 〈Mussel Choir〉, 〈Amphibious Architecture〉. These are public experiments and eco-products for ‘impatient’ people to monitor their contamination of soil, water, and air. She has also set up 〈Farmacy〉 program based on social-ecological movement. ‘Farmacy’, a new urban farming system, can reduce the environmental costs and offer the remedial ecosystem. The 〈AgBags〉 are the local food movements that helps people protect and improve Biological Diversity. Environmental Health Clinic can promote awareness of environmental and health issues with communities.

        A fused silica micro-electrospray tip with an electrically floating metal wire insert to achieve more stable electrospray ionization

        <P>A new electrospray tip with a wire insert was tested and compared with the conventional bare fused silica capillary tip. The new tip combined the approach of conventional fused silica spray tips with those containing metal wires. Here, we used a floating wire so that the tips could be prepared and replaced more easily. With the conventional tip, the electrospray process became unstable and the spray current fluctuated significantly in the presence of an air bubble. When the wire-inserted tip was used under the same conditions, much less signal deterioration occurred. The superior performance of this tip over the conventional tip was attributable to its enhanced electric conduction. The new tip has great potential for improving signal stability in LC mass spectrometry.</P>

        지역사회 노인의 사회적지지, 사회참여와 신체기능과의 관계

        본 연구의 목적은 복지관에 참여하는 지역사회 노인의 사회적지지, 사회참여와 신체기능과의 관련성을 규명하려는 것이다. 연구대상은 K도 두 곳과 D시 한 곳으로 복지관에 참여하는 60세 이상의 노인들 194명을 대상으로, 2016년 6월 16일부터 6월 30일까지 설문조사를 하였다. 수집된 자료는 IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0과 IBM AMOS 21.0을 이용하여, 기술통계와 T검정, 일원배치 분산분석, Pearson 상관분석, 다중회귀분석, 구조방정식 모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 지역사회 노인의 사회적지지(55.90점/80)와 신체기능(16.45점/21점)은 보통 이상 수준이었고, 사회참여(17.41점)는 다소 낮았다. 일반적 특성에 따른 신체기능은 연령, 교육수준, 흡연과 여가활동에 따라 높았다. 신체기능과 관련된 주요 변수들의 상관관계에서, 사회적 지지와 신체기능(r=0.229, p=0.001), 사회참여(r=0.273, p=0.001), 우울(r=-0.382, p=0.001)은 정의 상관관계가 있어 사회적 지지와 사회참여가 높을수록 우울증상이 낮을수록 신체기능이 높음을 알 수 있다. 신체건강의 영향요인은 사회적 지지와 사회참여 영역인 여가활동이 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 23.4% 설명력을 나타냈다. 덧붙여, 본 연구를 구조방정식으로 검증한 결과, 사회적 지지가 사회참여, 우울, 신체기능에 영향을 미쳤고, 통계적으로 유의미하였다. 따라서 지역사회 노인들에게 사회적 지지를 통해 신체기능을 강화하여 활기찬 노후가 되도록 교육프로그램 개발과 노인친화환경 조성이 더욱 활발하게 제공되어야 함을 시사한다. This study examined the relationship between social support, social participation and physical functioning among older adults in community senior centers. The subjects of this study were 194 persons aged 60 years or older who participated in the senior center in K province and D city, from June 16 to June 30, 2016. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, T-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and structural model analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 23.0 and IBM AMOS 21.0. The result showed that the social support and physical functioning of the elderly in the community were above normal, and social participation was somewhat low. Interestingly, an analysis of the physical functioning between social support, social participation and depression revealed significant correlations. The factors affecting the physical health were 23.4% of the respondents who had a significant influence on social support and leisure activities. In addition, the result of structural model analysis showed that social support had a significant influence on the social participation, depression and physical functioning. Therefore, the results suggests that the development of educational programs and an age-friendly environment should be actively provided to older adults in the community by strengthening the physical function through social support for active ageing.

        간효소에 의해 대사된 양격산화탕의 저산소/재관류로부터 PCl2 세포 보호효과

        The protective effect of Yangguksanwha-tang (YST) against hypoxia-reperfusion insult was investigated in PC12 cells. To elucidate the mechanism of the protective effect of YST, cell viability the changes in activities of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, catalase, caspase 3 and the production of malondialdehyde were observed after treating PC12 cells with YST which was metabolized by rat liver homogenate. Pretreatment of YST with liver homogenate appeared to increase its protective effect against hypoxia-reperfusion insult. The result showed that YST had the highest protective effect against hypoxia/reperfusion at the dose of 2㎍/ml in PC12 cells, probably by recovering the redox enzyme activities and MDA to control level.

        『고운당필기』 연구 - 諸 異本에 대한 검토 : 『고운당필기』 연구

        『古芸堂筆記』는 柳得恭(1748~1807)의 필기류 저술이다. 모두 6권 3책으로 이루어졌는데, 권1, 2가 수록된 첫 번째 책은 현재 소재를 알 수가 없고, 제2책은 국립중앙도서관에, 제3책은 일본의 천리대학 도서관에 소장되어 있다. 이들은 원고본인데, 제3책의 경우 내용이 동일한 등사본이 규장각에 소장되어 있기도 하다. 원고본인 제2, 3의 두 책은 동일한 사람이 같은 원고용지에 글씨를 쓴, 한 질의 책이다. 필자는 2005년 여름, 버클리대학 동아시아도서관에 소장되어 있는 『고운당필기』 2종을 열람할 수 있었다. 그 동안 소재를 알 수 없었던 제1책의 상당 부분을 싣고 있는 책이었다. 다른 이본들이 초고본인데 반해 버클리 대학본은 교정을 거쳐 정리된 책이었다. 원고본과 어떤 차이가 있는지, 그 이유는 무엇인지 살펴보았다. 필자는 최근, 천리대학에 소장되어 있는 또한 종류의 『고운당필기』를 열람하였다. 15수의 時調를 오언절구의 한시로 漢譯한 자료가 들어 있었다. 『고운당필기』의 내용에 대한 연구는 별고로 진행할 예정이다. Goundang Pilgi(『古芸堂筆記』) is the Yu Dukgong(柳得恭)’s miscellaneous notes, who was a scholar and literary man in the 18th century. It is all composed of three books, the first book has not been known where it is, the second is in National Central library, the third in Tenri University in Japan. The second and third are set of books, which were written by the same person and in the manuscript paper. In 2005 summer, this writer could examine two kinds of Goundang Pilgi, which are in East Asian library in Berkeley University. In that Goundang Pilgi, there are quite large portions of the first book. Other different versions are draft copies while Berkeley University’s versions are rearranged through emendation. In 2007 summer, this writer also perused another kinds of Goundang Pilgi in Tenri University. This thesis is studied about several kinds of different versions of Goundang Pilgi, especially largely about Berkeley version.
