THe Purkinje cell is certainly one of the most spectacular nerve cells known. For many years all of Purkinje cell have been recongnized by the numerous authors. Yet unanimity on many doubtful points has not been reached, and our studies were carried out in an attempt to obtain the Knowledge of the neuro-anatomical research. We have studies on the Purkinje cellof various animal cerebellum by the his tological and histochemical method, and the results obtained are as follows; 1) The Purkinje cell bodies are arranged in a sheet on cell thick at the interface between the molecular and the granular layers in the vertebrates and birds. 2) The number of Purinje cells are local variations on the folium in each animals. 3) The size of the Purkinje cell in the cats are among the largest cellin the vertebrates. 4) All of the structural characteristics of the Purkinje cells can not found the variations between the vertebrates and birds.

Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS) is a relatively uncommon, multiple malformation syndrome involving neurodevelopmental, craniofacial, cardiac, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal systems. Anesthetic management of a patient with CdLS may pose a serious problem mainly from difficult tracheal intubation, aspiration complications and cardiac malformation. We report our successful experience in anesthetic management of a 15-month-old male patient with CdLS who underwent orchiopexy for bilateral cryptochidism. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2008;55:639~43)

The electrocardigram is a fairly sensitive indicator of changes in plasma concentrations of potassium and calcium, and is useful in the recognition of these changes. However, because of combined abnormalities of electrolytes, wide range of normal values and many underlying diseases such as heart disease, hyperthyroidism, cerebral disease, endocrine disorders, bradycardia and tachycardia, effects of electrolytes imbalance on ECG were complex and not necessarilly pararell with serum electrolytes levels. Authors analysed ECGs in patient with single and combined electrolytes abnormalities such as serum K, Ca. Na, Cl and CO₂ combining power and following results were obtained. 1. In hypopotassemia, T-wave amplitude and T/R ratio were decreased and U wave amplitude and U/T ratio were increased. 2. In hyperpotassemia, T-wave amplitude and T/R ratio were increased and U wave amplitude and U/T ratio were decreased. 3. QT-interval and Q-aT interval were prolonged in hypocalcemia and shortened in hypercalcemia. 4. In hypocalcemia, prolongation of QT interval and Q-aT interval and reduction of height of P wave were aggravated by increasing the concentration of plasma potassium. However, prolongation of QT interval and Q-aT interval, increment of U/T ratio were reduced and decreasing T/R ratio was aggravated by decreasing the concentration of plasma potassium. 5. In hyperpotassemia, prolongation of QT interval and Q-aT interval and decreasing height of U wave were aggravated by decreasing the concentration of plasma calcium. 6. There were mild or no effects on the electrocardiogram in changes of Na, C1 and CO₂ combining power in cases of normal serum potassium and calcium level.
A Hybrid Neurogenetic Approach for Stock Forecasting
Yung-Keun Kwon,Byung-Ro Moon Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 2007 IEEE transactions on neural networks Vol.18 No.3

In this paper, we propose a hybrid neurogenetic system for stock trading. A recurrent neural network (NN) having one hidden layer is used for the prediction model. The input features are generated from a number of technical indicators being used by financial experts. The genetic algorithm (GA) optimizes the NN's weights under a 2-D encoding and crossover. We devised a context-based ensemble method of NNs which dynamically changes on the basis of the test day's context. To reduce the time in processing mass data, we parallelized the GA on a Linux cluster system using message passing interface. We tested the proposed method with 36 companies in NYSE and NASDAQ for 13 years from 1992 to 2004. The neurogenetic hybrid showed notable improvement on the average over the buy-and-hold strategy and the context-based ensemble further improved the results. We also observed that some companies were more predictable than others, which implies that the proposed neurogenetic hybrid can be used for financial portfolio construction
