Museums and Intangible Folk Heritage in the ROK
Yun Shun Susie Chung 한국박물관학회 2004 博物館學報 Vol.- No.7
This paper examines the relation between intangible folk heritage, especially ‘holders’ of crafts and skills, and museums. The case-study country will be the Republic of Korea (ROK) with focus on one of the sole museurns in Korea that began preserving intangible folk heritage in the early 1970s, the Korean Folk Village. Essential elements to be examined in this paper are: how the Korean Folk Village has evolved in preserving intangible folk heritage in the Republic of Korea; the strengths, weaknesses and challenges faced by the Korean Folk Village in preserving intangible folk heritage; the Korean National Commission for UNESCO’s system for preservation, management, and communication of intangible folk heritage, whlch is called, “Living Hurnan Treasures" the application of thls system in the Korean Folk Village; other outlets viable for the future of ROK museurns and intangible folk heritage.
Novel Filtering Power Divider with External Isolation Resistors
Yun Long Lu,Shun Wang,Gao-Le Dai,Kai Li 한국전자통신연구원 2015 ETRI Journal Vol.37 No.1
In this paper, a novel filtering power divider with external isolation resistors is presented. The proposed power divider can be considered as an integration of a bandpass filter and a Gysel power divider. Based on the circuit topology, a high-order filtering power divider can be easily realized. Odd- and even-mode models are employed to analyze the filtering and power splitting functions. For demonstration, a third-order filtering power divider operating at 1.5 GHz is designed and implemented. The measured results exhibit an isolation between the output ports that is better than 20 dB at around the center frequency.
Fabrication of Fe-36Ni Alloy Powder from its Scrap
Yun, Jung Yeul,Shin, Shun Myung,Lee, Dong Won,Kim, Jong Nam,Wang, Jei Pil Trans Tech Publications, Ltd. 2013 Advanced materials research Vol.747 No.-

Ni-based superalloys are used extensively in the hot section of gas turbine engines owing to their inherent elevated temperature strength and creep resistance. As such, aircraft engine manufactures are continually striving to push the envelope of the capabilities of such high temperature structure materials in order to increase both engine performance and efficiency [1,2].

This study was carried out to increase the treatment efficiency through the improvement of the conventional biological process, and to propose the optimal treatment direction. The optimal treatment conditions were derived based on the results of the spike damage tests in each single process. The removal efficiency of micropharmaceuticals was further increased when an ozone treatment process was added to the biological process compared to the single process. The soil and activated carbon adsorption process was introduced in the post-treatment to remove the micropharmaceutical residues, and the removal efficiency of the pharmaceduticals in the final effluent was more than 85% in spike damage experiment. In particular, the continuous process of biological treatment-ozone-adsorption could ensure the stable treatment of micropharmaceuticals, which had not been efficiently removed in the single process, as it showed more than 80% removal efficiency. Therefore, it is expected that the addition of the ozone oxidation and activated carbon adsorption process to the existing sewage treatment facilities can contribute to the efficient removal of micropharmaceuticals.

Sprites, elves and blue jets are collectively denominated as the upper atmospheric transient luminous events (TLEs). They are recently discovered optical flashes between active thunderstorms and the ionosphere. In this report, a brief introduction to the most important characteristics of TLEs is given. Since 2001, scientists from the National Cheng Kung University have been performing yearly summer campaigns from various locations in Taiwan. The main achievements of their yearly campaign are presented.
