In this paper, the feasibility of using a one-temperature model to determine plasma’s temperatureby measuring its refractive index is studied based on the consideration that many plasma flow fieldsare not in local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE). We compare the refractive indices between theone- and the two-temperature models of an arc plasma, in order to discuss the applicability ofthe one-temperature model in optical diagnosis. We found that the applicability is determined bythe pressure, the temperature ratio between electrons and heavy particles, the probe wavelength, and the chosen optical method’s refractive index measurement precision. Consequently, a commonmodel is deduced to describe the refractive index of plasma whether it be in LTE or not. In a word, this study is crucial to better apply optical methods based on measurements of the refractive indexto diagnose plasma flow fields.

Dengue virus (DENV) infection is considered a major public health problem in developing tropical countries where the virus is endemic and continues to cause major disease outbreaks every year. Here, we describe the development of a novel, inexpensive, and user-friendly diagnostic assay based on a reverse transcription-insulated isothermal PCR (RT-iiPCR) method for the detection of all four serotypes of DENV in clinical samples. The diagnostic performance of the newly established pan-DENV RT-iiPCR assay targeting a conserved 3' untranslated region of the viral genome was evaluated. The limit of detection with a 95% confidence was estimated to be 10 copies of in vitro-transcribed (IVT) RNA. Sensitivity analysis using RNA prepared from 10-fold serial dilutions of tissue culture fluid containing DENVs suggested that the RT-iiPCR assay was comparable to the multiplex real-time quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR) assay for DENV-1, -3, and -4 detection but 10-fold less sensitive for DENV-2 detection. Subsequently, plasma collected from patients suspected of dengue virus infection (n = 220) and individuals not suspected of dengue virus infection (n = 45) were tested by the RT-iiPCR and compared to original test results using a DENV NS1 antigen rapid test and the qRT-PCR. The diagnostic agreement of the pan-DENV RT-iiPCR, NS1 antigen rapid test, and qRT-PCR tests was 93.9%, 84.5%, and 97.4%, respectively, compared to the composite reference results. This new RT-iiPCR assay along with the portable POCKIT nucleic acid analyzer could provide a highly reliable, sensitive, and specific point-of-need diagnostic assay for the diagnosis of DENV in clinics and hospitals in developing countries.

The Heart Sound(HS) is a information carrying object for analyzing person body's heart state. Therefor, for improve this used value of the HS as a means of diagnosis heart disease, this paper elaborates a achievable method constituting intellectual HS recognition system, appling the digital signal processing techniques, the pattern recognition techniques and the expert system principle. This paper discusses a framework structure of the intellectual HS recognition, discusses a series of HS parameter definition and acquisition method but seted up the knowlege -- base of HS recognition on the basis of the expert's knowlege HS stethoscopy and training a great deal of HS signal samples, this system development play an important part in describing objectively, scientificly the HS feature, exploiting new type intellectual HS recognition divices.

Purpose Current variability in methods for tumor mutational burden (TMB) estimation and reporting demonstrates the urgent need for a homogeneous TMB assessment approach. Here, we compared TMB distributions in different cancer types using two customized targeted panels commonly used in clinical practice. Materials and Methods TMB spectra of 295- and 1021-gene panels in multiple cancer types were compared using targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS). The TMB distributions across a diverse cohort of 2,332 cancer cases were then investigated for their associations with clinical features. Treatment response data were collected for 222 patients who received immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and their homologous recombination DNA damage repair (HR-DDR) and programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression were additionally assessed and compared with the TMB and response rate. Results The median TMB between gene panels was similar despite a wide range in TMB values. The highest TMB was eight and 10 in patients with squamous cell carcinoma and esophageal carcinoma according to the classification of histopathology and cancer types, respectively. Twenty-three out of 103 patients (22.3%) were HR-DDR–positive and could benefit from ICI therapy; out of those 23 patients, seven patients had high TMB (p=0.004). Additionally, PD-L1 expression was not associated with TMB or treatment response among patients receiving ICIs. Conclusion Targeted NGS assays demonstrated the ability to evaluate TMB in pan-cancer samples as a tool to predict response to ICIs. In addition, TMB integrated with HR-DDR–positive status could be a significant biomarker for predicting ICI response in patients.
Isoflavanones from the Stem of Cassia siamea and Their Anti-tobacco Mosaic Virus Activities
Qiu-Fen Hu,De-Yun Niu,Bin Zhou,Yan-Qing Ye,Gang Du,Chun-Yang Meng,Xue-Mei Gao 대한화학회 2013 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.34 No.10
Two new isoflavanones, (3R) 7,2',4'-trihydroxy-3'-methoxy-5-methoxycarbonyl-isoflavanone (1) and (3R) 7,2'-dihydroxy-3',4'-dimethoxy-5-methoxycarbonyl-isoflavanone (2), together with six known isoflavanones (3-8), were isolated from the stems of Cassia siamea. The structure of 1-8 was elucidated by spectroscopic methods including extensive 1D- and 2D-NMR techniques. Compounds 1, 2, 5-8 were evaluated for their antitobacco mosaic virus (Anti-TMV) activity. The results showed that compounds 1 and 6 showed potential anti- TMV activity with inhibition rates of 24.6% and 26.9%, respectively. Compounds 2, 5, 7, 8 also showed anti- TMV activity with inhibition rates in the range of 11.8-18.6%.

This paper aimed at investigating the leisure motivation and bikers needs for bicycle lane. A total of 219 questionnaires from bikers are surveyed, in which 186 questionnaires are valid. the Kano’s (1984) model is used to obtain key elements of biker’ needs to bicycle lane. the analysis results show that the major motivation to ride a bicycle is “stimulus-avoidance” and the least motivation is “Social”. the most quality elements of leisure needs belong to one-dimensional elements. and flare equipment at night and lavatory installation have a higher priority of improvement to meet bikers needs.
