The purpose of this paper is to explore the aesthetics of chance in Tess of the d'Urbervilles through the law of karma and the theory of samsara/metempsychosis in Buddhism. According to Buddhism, all human beings is under the influence of the cycle of samsara/metempsychosis and the ring of karma, and all beings are closely interconnected each other through "the great of web" of the universe. The Hardy's aesthetic concept of chance can be regarded as the same meaning as that of krama/metempsychosis in Buddhism. It is true that the narrative system of Hardy's novels has depended on a series of accidents and coincidences. However, in the system of chance and coincidence of Hardy's world we can recognize the profound truth of the life in which he creates. In his universe, Hardy does not allow us to forget that chance/coincidence we meet in experience of our life is an integral part which is compose of our world. Hardy's use of chance enforces a mysterious view of life in the level of universe even if it is invisible. It is reason why Hardy's concept of chance is fundamentally different from the general meaning of it. For him, chance has been the integral elements of his artistic universe which he creates in his life. Of course, what Hardy has emphasized is not the mere ephemeral nature of life but the deep realities of life of human being as a mortal who are bound to the great cycle of eternity in universe. In conclusion, we should never fail to cast a new light on Hardy's aesthetics of chance in his literary world, because through which he develops a unique way to explore his sense of the tragic life and through which he creates his artistic universe.

『겨울이야기』와 『폭풍우』에 나타난 원형적 심상과 신화적 상상력

The purpose of this paper is to examine how the aspects of the mythological patterns or the archetypal images are figured in Shakespeare's romances, and ultimately to explore how its dramatic effects mirror his view of life. The archetypal and mythic elements are recurrent in both The Winter's Tale and The Tempest, his later romances. Of course, the importance of the repetitive patterns consists in qualifying and enriching the mythological theme of death/rebirth in the plays. That has been carefully designed to bring audiences fully into the world of a triumphant restoration. In other words, through the mythological imagination and the symbolism of archetypal images, the new world of Shakespearian humanism is created in the plays. There are the dramatic epiphanies of human love there: hatred is changed into love, death into rebirth, alienation into harmony, winter into spring, revenge into forgiveness, loss into recovery. The "brave new world" in both The Winter's Tale and The Tempest is created by Shakespeare's mythological imagination, which may be the mirror of his view of life. In this respect, it is meaningful for Shakespeare as a dramatist to cast his final anchor in the harbor of romances.

백서 안와하신경에서 알콜 및 글리세롤 주입의 효과

This study was performed to investigate the changes of nerve after the injection of alcohol and glycerol at the infraorbital nerve in rats. Using the eighteen Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 200-250g, 99% alcohol, pure glycerol, and sterile saline was injected to the epineurium of the infraorbital nerve. Glycerol injected rats were devided into 0.01㎖, 0.03㎖ and 0.05㎖ groups. The alcohol and control group were injected 0.03㎖ at the left infraorbital nerve. The following results were obtained by histopathological examination after 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months. A few inflammatory cell infiltration and no signs of nerve degeneration were noted in control group. Total nerve degeneration was noted in the alcohol group and no regeneration was noted in 1 month, and partial regeneration was noted at 3 month. The nerve degeneration was noted at the periphery of nerve bundle in 0.01㎖ glycerol injection group. Total degeneration was noted in the 0.03㎖and 0.05㎖ glycerol injection group. These results suggest that injection of alcohol and glycerol are effective to nerve blockage by nerve degeneration, and nerve degeneration by glycerol injection is propotional to dose and nerve regeneration by glycerol injection is inversely propotional to dose.

FEM에 의한 차체구조용 단일모자형 단면부재의 축압궤특성에 관한 연구

차체전면부 사이드부재는 점용접에 의해서 이루어진 모자형 단면형상을 갖는 강도부재로써, 차량의 전면충돌에 있어서 중요한 역할을 한다. 전면충돌에 있어서 차량의 전면부에서 충분한 에너지를 흡수한다면, 승차자에게 가해지는 충격에너지를 경감시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 이러한 강도부재는 충분한 강성을 가져야 하지만, 적절한 압궤 또한 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 단일모자형 단면부재에 대하여 플랜지부 점용접 간격을 변화시켜 준정적(0.017m/sec) 및 충격합궤(7.19m.sec, 1034J)하에서 압궤특성을 해석하고자 유한요소 프로그램인 LS-DYNA3D을 이용하여 준정적 및 충격압궤 시뮬레이션을 행하였다. 시뮬레이션은 압궤실험 결과와 비교함으로서 시뮬레이션의 타당성을 학인하였다. The hat shaped section members of vehicles compose the base frame which plays an important role in a front-end collision. It consists of the hat shaped section members with spot welds. In front-end collision, the impact energy for the passengers will be decreased as the front parts of vehicles has sufficiently absorbed energy. And then, this structures have not to be very stiff but collapse progressively to absorb the kinetic energy as expected. In this study. LS-DYNA3D has been used for analyzing collapse characteristics on hat shaped section members with respect to spot weld pitches under quasi-static(0.017m/sec) and impact load(7.19m/sec. 1034J). By comparing the results from simulation and the experimental results. the utilization fo simulation has been certified.

외국인지분율이 기업가치에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 외국인 투자자들이 우리나라 기업들의 기업가치에 미치는 영향에 대하여 검토하고자 한다. 기업가치와 외국인투자자지분율의 관계를 분석하기 위해 1996년부터 2006년 사이에 걸친 금융업을 제외한 405개 기업들을 대상으로 외국인투자자지분율은 기업가치에 정(+)의 상관관계를 가질 것이라는 가설을 검증하기 위해 기업가치의 대용변수로써 Tobin’s Q 비율과 주당순자산비율을 설정하였고, 설명변수로는 외국인투 자자지분율을 사용하였으며 또한 기업규모, 재무레버리지비율, 총자산이익률, 자기자본 이익률, 연구개발비비율, 광고비비율, 매출액증가율을 통제변수로 사용하여 상관분석 및 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 검증 결과로 외국인투자자지분율과 기업가치는 정(+)의 상관관계를 나타냈고 외국인투자자지분율은 전기의 Tobin's Q 비율 기업규모 광고비비율과 정(+)의 효과가 있고, 주당순자산비율, 재무레버리지비율과는 부(-)의 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. In this study we examined the influence of the share of foreign investors on corporate value of which proxy variable is input Tobin's Q and Price to Book Ratio(PBR) in turn. The data of 405 corporations listed between 1996 and 2006 excluding financial companies is analysed in this study, the methodology such as correlation and regression analysis is used, The hypothesis that foreign investor share ratio has a positive effect on corporate value was established, and to verify the hypothesis, a regression model was built. As dependent variables of the regression model, Tobin Q ratio, PBR were used, and foreign investor share ratio as independent variable and corporate size, financial leverage ratio, return on asset, return on equity, research and experimental costs ratio, marketing and advertising costs, and net sales growth rate as control variables were used. And multiple regression analysis model was adopted for verification. The findings in empirical analysis of this study are as follow. First, we found that Tobin's Q and PBR have positive relationships with foreign investors' share ratio. In other words, corporations with higher foreign investor share ratio have increased corporate value. Second, variables that affect foreign investor share ratios were examined. The results showed that the Tobin's Q, corporate scale, marketing and advertising costs at (t-1) have significant positive effects on foreign investor share ratio at t, and PBR and financial leverage ratio at (t-1) has a significant negative effect on foreign investor share ratio at t.

기관지천식 환자에서 Furosemide, Disodium cromoglycate 및 Heparin 흡입이 고장액 식염수 기관지유발검사에 미치는 영향

목적 : 기관지천식 환자에서 고장액 식염수의 흡입은 기도수축을 유발할 수 있으며 이는 운동유발성 천식반응과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 저자들은 알레르겐 흡입이나 운동에 의해 유발되는 천식에 예방효과가 있는 것으로 알려진 disodium cromoglycate(DSCG), furosemide 및 heparin 흡입이 4.5% NaCl 기관지유발검사(BPT)에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 4.5% NaCl BPT에서 양성반응을 보이는 기관지천식 환자 13명을 대상으로 하였으며 사용된 약물은 furosemide 40㎎, DSCG 40㎎ 및 heparin 1,000μ/㎏이었다. 먼저baseline 4.5% NaCl BPT를 시행한 다음 이들 약물로 전처치후 다시 4.5% NaCl BPT를 시행하여 약물의 효과를 관찰하였다. 결과 : Furosemide 40㎎, DSCG 40㎎및 heparin 1,000μ/㎏의 흡입 전처치는 고장액 식염수에 의한 기도수축 반응에 뚜렷한 예방효과를 보였다. Furosemide와 DSCG로 전처치한 군(n=6)에서 이들의 기도수축 방어율은 각각 100.6±6.6%, 91.1±17.2%였으며 furosemide와 heparin으로 전처치한 군(n=7)에서는 각각 58.7±29.2%, 59.0±51.1%로서 각 군에서 이들 약제간의 방어율에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 결론 : Furosemide(40㎎), DSCG(40㎎) 및 heparin(1000μ/㎏)의 흡입 전처치는 고장액 식염수에 의한 기도수축 반응에 뚜렷한 예방효과를 보였으며, 적어도 이 용량에서 기도수축 예방 정도에는 유의한 차이가 없음을 알 수 있었다. Background: Hypertonic saline (4.5% NaCl) inhalation is known to induce broncho-constriction by affecting mast cell, epithelial cell and vagal afferent pathway in some asthmatics. Disodium cromoglycate (DSCG) is known to have a preventive effect on allergic asthma and exercise induced asthma, and recently it was reported that furosemide and heparin had similar effect. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of furosemide, DSCG and heparin on hypertonic saline provocation test in asthmatics. Methods: Thirteen asthmatics with a positive response to hypertonic saline challenge were enrolled. Hypertonic saline and test drugs were generated by ultrasonic nebulizer. After taking baseline 4.5% NaCl challenge, subjects were rechallenged with 4.5% NaCl after inhalation of furosemide 40㎎, DSCG 40㎎ or heparin 1,000μ/㎏. Results: 1. There was a significant positive relationship between PC_20-methacholine and PTM-4.5% NaCl(r=0.5575, p = 0.024). 2. Furosemide, DSCG and heparin had no direct bronchodilating effects. 3. Premedication of furosemide and DSCG(n=6) showed significant protective effects on 4.5% NaCl induced broncho-constriction. The average protection rate were 100.6±6.6% and 91.1±17.2%, respectively. 4. Premedication of furosemide and heparin(n=7) showed significant protective effects on 4.5% NaCl induced broncho-constriction. The average protection rate were 58.7±29.2% and 59.0±51.1%. respectively. Conclusions: Furosemide(40㎎), DSCG(40㎎) and heparin(1.000μ/㎏) had significant protective effects on hypertonic saline induced broncho-constriction in asthmatics, and there were no significant differences in their potency of protection rate.

模型 試驗을 통한 補强型深刑基礎의 擧動特性 分析

In this study, 1/8 model tests were carried out to understand the properties of the deep foundation and reinforced deep foundation. Also, carried out tests, divided into weathered rock and soft rock. The results of this study are summarized as follows; When piles is reinforced, reinforcing effect of soft rock is 1l-l2% and weathered rock is 233%. In the side load tests of weathered rock, reinforced effect was 223%. From the comparative study, the reinforced piles have enough reinforcing effect. Though some difference existed by foundations, reinforcing effect is reliable. Therefore reinforced deep foundation is profitable in the configuration of the earth.
