In this paper, we give an improvement for the second main theorems of algebraically non-degenerate meromorphic maps from generalized $ p $-parabolic manifolds into projective varieties intersecting hypersurfaces in subgeneral position with some index, which extends the results of Han \cite{han_2013} and Chen-Thin \cite{chen2021general}.

Streptococcus (Strep.) agalactiae is one of the major pathogens of bovine mastitis and is the main cause of subclinical infection. This study attempted to develop a rapid PCR diagnosis procedure using milk samples collected on filter paper disks. Chromatographic filter paper was employed as the preservation media and kept at room temperature for one to four weeks. The revival rate of Strep. agalactiae kept on dried filter paper disks was affected by the pretreatment preservation time. The revival test suggested that not all the bacteria in artificially contaminated milk samples on the filter paper disks could be recovered. After that, a PCR based on the 16-23S intergenic spacer region of Strep agalactiae was performed. The results distinguished the strep. agalactiae from major pathogens of bovine mastitis at a $2{\times}10^2$ colony forming units (CFU)/ml level, which showed similar sensitivity to the results from liquid milk samples. The results also showed that milk samples collected on filter paper disks could be kept at room temperature for one to four weeks with little negative effect on sensitivity and specificity. The field test showed that the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity was 96.15% and 98.60%, respectively. In conclusion, the protocol will provide a rapid and economic procedure for the detection of bovine mastitis.

Background Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver malignancy with a high mortality rate. P14.5 is a member of the highly conserved YER057c/YIL051c/YjgF subfamily and is highly expressed in the liver. However, its low expression is associated with carcinogenesis in HCC. Objective This study aimed to investigate the role and prognostic significance of P14.5 in HCC. Methods The clinical significance of P14.5 in HCC was examined using ONCOMINE, UALCAN, Human Protein Atlas, and Kaplan–Meier plotter. The DNA methylation profile of the P14.5 promoter was examined in 103 HCC and paired precancerous tissues; the HCC cell lines HepG2, MHCC-97L, SMMC-7721, SK-Hep-1, and Huh7; and the normal hepatic cell line HL-7702 via MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. In addition, in vitro experiments were performed to examine the effects of P14.5 overexpression on the proliferation and migration of SMMC-7721 cells. Results Low expression of P14.5 was correlated with shorter overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) in HCC. Based on the results of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, no difference was observed in the methylation level between HCC cells and normal human hepatic cells and between HCC and paired precancerous tissues. Additionally, P14.5 overexpression promoted the proliferation and inhibited the migration of SMMC7721 cells in vitro. Conclusions P14.5 may serve as a prognostic biomarker in HCC and plays a role in the migration and proliferation of HCC cells. Low expression of P14.5 during hepatocarcinogenesis is not attributed to DNA methylation.
