이상적인 내발수 특성을 얻기 위해 유화중합을 이용하여 n-methyol acrylamide (n-MAM)와 stearyl methacrylate (SMA)의 단량체에 기능성 단량체인 PFOEA의 함량(0-8 wt%)에 따른 공중합체를 합성하였고, 추가적으로 2-(perfluorooctyl) ethyl acrylate (PFOEA) 함량이 4 wt%인 조성에 m-isopropenyl-α,α’-dimethylbenzyl isocyanate (TMI)의 함량(1∼4 wt%)을 첨가한 공중합체를 합성하였다. 유화중합을 위해 비이온 유화제인 tridecyl alcohol (TDA-7), 양이온유화제인 alkyl dimethyl amine derivatives(ADAD)를 사용하였고 개시제로는 2,2’-azobis (2-amidinopropane dihydrochoride) (AAPDL)을 사용하였다. 합성된 공중합체에 대해서 FT-IR spectra를 이용하여 구조분석을 하였고 표면특성 분석을 위해 접촉각, 표면에너지, 발수도 그리고 SEM을 측정하였으며, TGA와 DSC를 사용하여 열적 특성을 확인하였다. PFOEA와 TMI의 특정 함량에서 우수한 발수도와 높은 열적 특성을 보이는 공중합체가 합성됨을 알 수 있었다. A series of terpolymers based on stearyl methacrylate (SMA), n-methyol acrylamide (n-MAM), and 2-(perfluorooctyl) ethyl acrylate (PFOEA) were synthesized by changing PFOEA contents up to 8 wt% in order to obtain optimal water-repellent properties. In addition, various contents of m-isopropenyl-α,α`-dimethylbenzyl isocyanate (TMI) from 1 to 4 wt% were added to the above terpolymers with 4 wt% of PFOEA content. The emulsion polymerization was carried out using tridecyl alcohol (EO)7 (TDA-7) as a nonionic surfactant, alkyl dimethyl amine derivatives (ADAD) as a cationic surfactant, and 2,2`-azobis(2-amidinopropane dihydrochoride) (AAPDL) as an initiator. The synthesized copolymers were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopies, contact angle, surface energy, and water-repellency. Surface and thermal properties were analyzed by SEM, TGA, and DSC. It was found that water repellency increased with increasing the contents of PFOEA and TMI.

<P>Organic/inorganic hybrid materials synthesized from acrylic resin and silane-terminated colloidal silica(CS). The silane-terminated CS was prepared in variation with the kind of silane to CS. The CS treated with methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS) and then treated with vinyl trimethoxysilane(VTMS), 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane(ATMS) or 3-methacyloxypropyl trimethoxysialne(ETMS) by sol-gel method, respectively. The variation of silane-terminated CS and acrylic resin were hybridized by thermal-polymerization. Thin films of organic/inorganic hybrid materials were prepared using spin coater on the glass and aluminum sheets. Their contact angle, surface electric resistivity and thermal resistance improved with the amount of silaneterminated CS. The contact angle and surface electric resistivity of hybrid thin film with VTMS were enhanced. The surface of hybrid thin film with VTMS was homogeneous through FE-SEM.</P>

Purpose: This study was conducted to introduce the initial experiences with transurethral bipolar plasma vaporization of the prostate (TBPVP) using ‘mushroom’ vapo-resection electrode for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in Korean men. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 42 consecutive patients underwent TBPVP performed by a single surgeon between October 2009 and April 2011. The patients were assessed preoperatively and perioperatively, and were followed at 2, 4, and 8 weeks postoperatively. Patient baseline characteristics, perioperative data, postoperative outcomes, and major complications were recorded. Results: The mean age at surgery was 70.93±6.26 years. The mean prostate size was 64.10±17.83ml. The mean operation time was 59.40±25.99min, and the mean irrigation fluid volume during procedure was 26,000±10,511ml. The mean duration of catheterization was 3.57±0.94 days. The blood loss was minimal, and there was only 1 transfusion for the patient with ongoing heparization. Compared with baseline, there were significant improvements in IPSS, QoL, Qmax and postvoiding residual urine after surgery. Conclusions: The new TBPVP showed good short-term safety and efficacy for the treatment of Korean patients with BPH.

We were chosen Seongnam sludge with the highest ratio of Al₂O₃/SiO(0.912) and Sukseong sludge with the lowest ratio of Al₂O₃/SiO₂(0.345) out of various sludges. It has been investigated the relationship between Al₂O₃/SiO₂ and its adsorption capability, then make criteria to choose the optimum sludge for final applications. The adsorption properties of heat-treated sludges were determined with the following parameters; three types of heavy metal ions(Cd^(+3), Cr^(+6), Pb^(+3)), the concentration, adsorption period and pH of the solutions.
