In order to reduce environmental pollution by pear slurry from pear juice processing and further, develop new valuable sauces, pear pastes was prepared using pear slurry and its quality characteristics was investigated with physiological functionality. Pear paste contained 29.1% of carbohydrate, 1.0% of crude protein and 0.25% of crude fat, and also fructose content and edible fiber content were 16.42mg/100ml and 0.5g/100ml, respectively. Anti-obesity α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of the pear pastes was 20.0% and antihypertensive angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitory was increased to 17.9% from 4.0% during storage at 20℃ for 2 weeks.

Triggered by the computerized tomography, computer has become an invaluable equipment for both diagnosis and treatment. Recently, the computer technology seems to be able to do everything including simulation surgery. Although required by only a small portion of surgeons, computer simulation systems have been developed because some patients are very curious about their final outcomes and impatient to wait. But in the field of plastic surgery, it is quite natural that computer cannot adjust individual patients and ill suggested predicted picture may evoke serious problems. Nevertheless the computer image simulation systems are still used in some clinics and thought to be valuable in some aspects. Computer simulation can be helpful in understanding patient's mind easily and quickly. Computer simulation can make patient be more objective than before and even contribute to minimize the unrealistic expectation or desire of patient. To add the value of previous image simulation systems, although not a exact and complete one, authors would like to propose a simulation method which uses surgeons' previous data. Authors analysed previous cases and made image data bases which is applicable to new patients according to the types of patients and preference of patients and surgeons. Authors equipped simulation system as followings : (1) 80386 IBM compatible personal computer : (2) 4-megabyte random access memory (2MB RAM) : (3) keyboard : (4) 3.5-inch floppy diskette drive : (5) 200-MB hard disk drive : (6) True vision Advanced Raster Graphic Adapter(TARGA) 16 Board : (7) Summer graphics graphic tablet : (8) Electro home 14-inch color monitor : (9) JVC-RGB video camera. For operating simulation authors invented our own Software 'Tomis-PS(Ⅱ)' which evoloved from 'Tomis-PS(Ⅰ)' for image data storage system. Program starts with capturing the patient's image in fixed grids and after choosing suitable databases, overdrawing of image data bases is followed by image substraction with or without blending. Predicted images are displayed with untouched images and consultation goes ahead. Because all data were driven from clinical cases, this 'tomis-Ⅱ' can be applicable to only a few but common types of operation. Although simple 32-bit personal computer cannot produce real 3-dimensional images, video-captured images and image data can look like 3-dimension. Simulated images are inevitablely somewhat different from real results, but they are not drawn beyond the surgeon's ability because they are confined to data bases only. Conclusively, authors felt that image simulation can facilitate a quick consultation for decision making and screening out the patients who have intractable unrealistic expectations, and also authors would like to propose that computer image simulation might have some value in office practice in practical points.

In this paper, we combine the lead condensor connected on the side of load with the dual 3-pulse converter which has the intermediate-point interphase reactor in the symmetrical phase displacemental transformer, to improve power factor. For the variation of reactive power variable inductor acts as VAR compensator to reduce harmonics, and to improve power factor and waveform.

Two-dimensional slow viscous flow due to the rotation of hinged plates with equal length and equal angle spaced is investigated on the basis of Stokes' approximation. An exact formal expression for the flow is obtained by use of Wiener-Hopf technique. From the formal expression obtained, the flows between two neighboring plates and near the leading edge of plates are discussed. The force and moment exerted on each plate are also calculated as functions of N, the number of hinged plates.

The sediments provide both short and long-term memory of contamination. Toxic compunds such as heavy metals exert chronic and lethal effects in animals and plants. Heavy metal contamination in sedments from Masan Bay was evaluated by ecological risk indices. The results were concluded that heavy metals contamination in sediments of Masan Bay was "heavily polluted level" by sediment quality guidelines. "considerable degree of contamination" by the degree of contamination (Cd). and "biological effect range between low and median (ERL-ERM)" by guidelines for adverse biological effect. Concentrationsl between effect range low and median represent a possible-effects range within which effects would occasionally occur.

For the bases of the novel Ku-un-mong, two hypotheses are possible. First, the auther Kim Man-Chung, So-po, had a correct understanding of Korean script with which he valued Sa-mi-in-gck as On-so(諺騷), a masterpiece in Korean letters comparable to that of Kul-won. Second, Kim held in his writing the conviction that the good of popular novels could not be denied. In a psychoanalytical interpretation of Ku-un-mong we should keep these in mind; otherwise we are apt to miss the characteristics of the novel. This paper picks out Mother-complex as a motif of the novel and makes it clear that Don-Juanismis is contained in the motif but feminism or homosexuality is not, becaue which was widely present in the writings of the Cho-son dynasty pericd. At the bottom of Kuun-mong lies Don-Juanism which brings the main theme-wealth, rank and fame are in this world found to be but an empty dream-and which conditions the atmosphere of the novel as a fantastic one. The novel, like other fantastic fictions, is interpersed with superhuman actions in an unreal fairly land, which are proved to be a dream. Thus dream is identified with actuality in the classical work. Ku-un-mong seems to be motivated partly by the anxieties of the authors highly respected mother who was a woman of wide knowledge and partly by the bitterness that be had experienced during the exile to a remote island. From the latter would the fantastic narrative have resulted of the structure 'real-fantastic-real' or 'The upper world-this world-the upper world'. It may fairly be presumed that the fictional mode of dreaminess or sleepwalking, apparently most adoptable to SO-po was fit for the narratives in the hard times of Cho-son dynasty. The mode had been a stereotype in the in the early novels written in classical Chinese.
