        유사한 전자상태를 가지는 타이타늄 합금의 영률에 베타 안정화 원소 함량이 미치는 영향

        Previously, Gum Metal (Ti-24(Nb + Ta + V)-(Zr, Hf)-O (at%)) exhibiting an ultralow Young`s modulus, ultrahigh strength and super elasticity was developed by Saito et al., who proposed that three electronic magic numbers, an average electron/atom (e/a) ratio of 4.24, an average bond order (Bo) of about 2.87, and an average “d” electron-orbital energy level (Md) of about 2.45 eV, should be satisfied simultaneously to obtain such “super” properties. The purpose of this study was to find new alloy systems possessing those properties and to examine the effect of beta equivalent content ([Mo]eq) on Young`s moduli of new alloys having the same three electronic numbers mentioned above. It was found that not only three electronic numbers but also [Mo]eq should be considered to obtain a similar Young`s modulus and hardness with respect to the Gum Metal.

        연령집단에 따른 노인의 허약(Frailty) 예측요인 분석

        본 연구의 목적은 연령집단에 따른 허약의 예측요인을 분석하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 위해 2014년 노인실태조사를 사용하여 총 4,123명을 분석의 대상으로 설정하였다. 허약을 예측하는데 있어 연령의 중요성을 고려하여, 본 연구는 대상자를 75세 이상 85세 미만의 중 고령노인집단(n=3,373명)과 85세 이상의 초 고령노인집단(n=750명)으로 분류하여 연구모형을 검증하였다. 중 고령노인집단에서 전 허약노인과 허약노인은 각각 1453명(약 43%), 1,268명(약 37%)으로 나타났으며, 초 고령노인 집단에서 전 허약과 허약노인은 304명(약 40%), 396명(약 52%)으로 나타났다. 회귀분석의 결과 건강단계에서 허약전 단계로 진입하는 예측요인은 중 고령노인집단에서는 여성, 낮은 교육수준, 많은 만성질환, 낙상 유경험자, 높은 우울, 낮은 인지기능이 허약 전 단계를 예측하는 유의한 변인으로 밝혀졌으며 초 고령노인집단은 여성, 높은 우울, 낮은 사회활동이 유의한 예측요인으로 밝혀졌다. 허약 전 단계에서 허약 단계로의 진입을 예측하는 요인으로는 중 고령노인집단은 여성, 높은 연령, 미취업, 많은 만성질환, 낙상 유경험자, 높은 우울, 낮은 인지기능이 유의한 변인이었으며, 초 고령노인 집단은 높은 연령, 많은 만성질환, 높은 우울, 낮은 인지기능이 유의한 예측요인으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 연령의 세분화와 다각적인 요인의 접근으로 허약의 예측요인을 밝히고자 하였다. 연구를 통해 밝혀진 예측요인은 추후 허약에 대한 다각적 연구의 기초자료로서 활용되리라 기대한다. This study aims to investigate the predictors of frailty in different age groups. To address this purpose, this study used the 2014 Survey of the Living Conditions of the Elderly (SLCE). In the research model, 4,123 older adults aged 75 and older were included from the SLCE. All participants were subdivided into two age groups based on their age; the young old group (75-85) and the old-old group (85+). The young old group consisted of 1,453 (43%) pre-frail older adults and 1,268 (37%) frail older adults; the old-old group consisted of 304 (40%) pre-frail older adults and 396 (52%) frail older adults. Our regression analysis showed that in the young-old, being female, lower levels of education, having more chronic diseases, having fall experience, higher depression, lower cognitive functioning significantly predicted transition to pre-frailty from non-frail status. In the old-old, being female, higher depression, lower level of social activity were significant predictors. On the other hand, predictors of transition to frailty from pre-frail status in the young-old were being female, higher age, being unemployed, having more chronic diseases, having fall experience, higher depression, lower cognitive functioning. In the old-old, predictors of transition to frailty from pre-frail status were only higher age, having more chronic disease, higher depression, and lower cognitive functioning. The research findings can be used as a reference point in the making of strategies for preventing frailty.

        GASKET LIFE CRITERIA AT LOW TEMPERATURES ADOPTING PROPORTIONAL COMPENSATION FOR LOSS OF FLEXIBILITY AND CONFORMABILITY

        In the automobile industry, the service life of gaskets is defined as the time until which a released gasket recovers 60 % of the original compression. It was observed that the recovery curves of gaskets were highly nonlinear at high temperatures, and relatively nonlinear at temperatures above the room temperature. However, it was also noted that the recovery curves of the gaskets at temperatures below room temperature exhibited linearity with respect to the ln(time). Automotive manufacturers demand gasket life criteria that exceed a specific time or the entire life of a car. In the case of gaskets used at lower temperatures, since materials encounter losses in its flexibility and conformability, the definition of service life specifying a 60 % recovery may not be sufficiently safe to eliminate possible leakages. In this study, new gasket life criteria that could be used at low temperatures were proposed. The new criteria were proposed based on the change in Young’s modulus of the gasket material in order to conserve the sealing capability.

        The bony spur formation without degenerative change in the lumbar spines in the young age group is quite interesting and is not uncommon. This bony spur is different from the degenerative spur in the old age group in shape and mechanism of formation. The authors analyzed 25 patients below 29 years old with such posterior lumbar bony spur. We concluded that posterioly lacated Schmorl's node is main cause of the bony pour in young age group at lumbar region.

        Influence of fiber length and its distribution in three phase poly(propylene) composites

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We explored how the fiber lengh affects physical properties of three phase polymer composites. The composites including glass fibers, graphites and poly(propylene) were produced via injection molding. The fiber length and its distribution were analyzed before and after molding. Two different fiber lenghs (i.e., 2 mm and 10 mm) were adopted in this study. The morphological analysis of the samples was carried out to evaluate the fiber orientation depending on the fiber length. The thermal, mechanical, and viscoelastic behaviors of the composites were analyzed experimentally. The finding revealed that the longer fiber reinforced composites showed higher viscoelastic properties, Young's modulus, and melting temperature but showed less uniform distribution of fibers. In addition, numerical simulation was conducted to help understand the experimental results.</P>

        Superconducting MgB2 Wire Drawing Considering Anisotropic Hardening Behavior and Hydrostatic Effect

        Numerical modeling was conducted to investigate the deformation behavior of powder mixture during multi-pass drawingprocesses for multi-filamentary MgB2wire. A modified Drucker-Prager Cap (DPC) model with an elliptical cap surface usingthe new material characterization method was developed to capture the anisotropic hardening behavior and hydrostatic effectof the powder mixture. A number of uniaxial die compaction, cold isostatic pressing, diametrical compression, and uniaxialcompression tests were conducted using different powder densities to characterize the modified DPC model. A commercialfinite element software ABAQUS with a user subroutine was used to simulate the drawing of the MgB2wire. The densityand area fraction of the powder mixture during the wire-drawing process were verified with experimental results. The differencein packing density at the inner and outer filaments of the MgB2wire was successfully captured by simulation. Inaddition, the effect of the initial packing density on the superconducting properties of MgB2wire was numerically studied. It is shown that the increase in the superconducting area, which results from a high initial packing density, should be moreeffective compared to the increase in the grain connectivity in enhancing the critical current properties for the MgB2wirewhen the final packing density is saturated after a number of drawing processes.

        감마선(^60Co) 조사에 의한 항진균 세균의 돌연변이체 유도

        항진균 세균의 특성 및 기능변화 가능성을 조사하기 위하여 버섯폐배지, 온천수, 해조류 및 삼림토양으로부터 식물병원성 진균에 대한 8 종의 항진균 활성 균주를 분리하였고 감마선(^60Co)을 이용하여 LD_95 에 돌연변이체를 유도하였다. Bactllus circulans K1, Burkholderia gladioli K4와 Bacillussubtilis YSl은 12 종의 식물병원성 진균에 대go 항진균 활성을 보였다. 이들 균주의 방사선감수성 조사결과 B. gladioliK4는 감마선에 대한 높은 감수성을 보였으며, D_10 값은 0.11kGy 였다. 감마선에 의해 유도된 Kl-1004와 YSl-1009는Botryosphaeria dothidea에 대해 항진균 활성이 증가되었다. B.subtilis YS1의 돌연변이체인 YSl-1006과 YS1-1009는 tebuconazol과 copper hydroxide에 대해 농약 저항성을 나타냈다. SAR535, SAR5108 과 SAR5l18 돌연변이체는 야생형 균주인 Streptomyces sp. SAR01에 비해 5 종의 식물병원성 진균에 대해 항진균 활성이 없었다. 연구결과, 방사선을 이용하여 다양한 기능의 돌연변이체 유도가 가능하였다. 이를 이용하여 항진균 활성 관련 유전자 연구 및 균주개량이 가능할 것으로 사료된다. In order to evaluate the antifungal activity of bacteria against plant pathogenic fungi, 8 bacteria were isolated from mushroom compost, hot spring, seaweed, and forest soil and mutants from them were induced by LD_(95) gamma radiadon(^(60)Co). Bacillus circuluns K1, Burkholderia gladioli K4 and Bacillus subtilis YS1 showed wide antifungal spectrum against 12 kinds of plant pathogenic fungi. From the radiation sensitivity test, R gladioli K4 was very sensitive to gamma radiation and its D_(10) value was 0.11 kGy. Antifungal activities of B. circulans K1-1004 and B. subtilis YS1-1009, which were induced by the radiation of ^(60)Co increased against Botryosphaeria dothidea. The mutant strains, B. subtilis YS1-1006 and B. subtilis YS1-1009 were resistant to tebuconazole and copper hydroxide. SAR535, SAR5108, and SAR5118 mutated from Streptomyces sp. SAR01 were antifungal activity deficient mutants against 5 kinds of plant pathogenic fungi compared to wild strain, so that they could be supposed to be model strains for studying antifungal mechanism. It is suggested that various functional types of mutants could be induced by gamma radiation and applied usefully.

        The differences of the liver scintigraphic features between postnecrotic and nonpostnecrotic liver cirrhosis were studied for 69 patients. Degrees of mottling and splenomegaly were no different between two groups but shrinked form was more frequent finding in postnecrotic type(23:10), and normal shape & enlarged left lobe with shrinked right lobe were relatively dominant in non-postnecrotic group(15:6, 10:2). Grade of extrahepatic uptake of ^99mTc-tin colloid was significantly higher in Child-Pugh B & C group than A group(p<0.05), but there was no difference between postnecrotic and non-postnecrotic groups. These will be important results on the dicision for the presence of cirrhosis according to the variable causes.

        A 2.5㎏, 11-year old, intact female mixed breed dog with 1 year history of sporadic seizure was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. There were no significant finding in CBC and serum chemistry. Based on X-ray, CT scan and MRI, it was diagnosed as syringohydromyelia and hydrocephalus caused by Chiari-like mlaformation. Prednisolone, furosemide and phenobarbital was administered orally. Depend on the number and severity of seizure, the dose of phenobarbital was adjusted. Seizure episode was reduced.

        지역문제 해결을 위한 국내 리빙랩 사례 분석

        최근 국내에서도 사회 주체(주민, 사용자 등) 주도형 혁신모델이자 지역·현장기반형 혁신의 장으로서 리빙랩이 도입·적용되고 있다. 본 연구는 지역사회문제 해결을 위한 실험으로 ‘리빙랩’을 명시하고 추진된 북촌 리빙랩, 성대골 리빙랩, 건너유 프로젝트 3개 사례를 분석하였다. 각 사례의 지역문제, 문제해결 목표, 참여주체 및 주체별 역할, 리빙랩 추진체계, 의의를 분석하고 리빙랩의 유형·특성을 도출했으며, 향후 발전 방안을 모색하였다. 분석 결과 각 사례는 기술 활용 방식과 사용되는 기술의 특성은 차이가 있으나 과학기술·ICT와 지역문제 해결을 연계하고자 했으며 지역주민이 문제 발굴부터 기술 실험 및 확산·적용까지 리빙랩 전반에서 주도적인 역할을 수행하였다. 또한 공통적으로 중간지원조직의 역할이 리빙랩 운영에 중요한 요인으로 작용하였다. 각 사례는 서로 다른 리빙랩 유형을 보이고 있는데, 북촌 IoT 리빙랩은 정부/지자체가 리빙랩 활동기반 조성 또는 행위자 활동을 지원하고 프로젝트 형태로 운영된 반면, 성대골 에너지전환 리빙랩과 건너유 프로젝트는 시민사회 스스로 지역문제를 해결하기 위해 문제를 정의하고 기술을 탐색하는 형태로 진행되었다. Living Lab is being introduced and applied as an innovation model driven by social entities (residents, users, etc.) and as an innovation place based on local and field. This study analyzed three living lab cases of Bukchon IoT living lab, Seong-Daegol energy transition living lab, and Daejeon Geonneoyu project, which were designated as "Living Lab" to solve local problems. We analyzed the local problem, the problem solving goal, the role of each participant and the subject, the living lab promotion system, the significance in each case. In addition, the types and characteristics of living labs were elucidated and future development plans were discussed. The result is as follow. First, each case has a tendency to link science technology and ICT with local problem solving though there is a difference between the technologies used. Second, local residents played a leading role in the whole living lab process from problem identification to technical experimentation, diffusion and application. Third, the role of the intermediaries commonly played an important role in the operation of the living lab. Last but not least, each case has different types of living lab. Bukchon IoT living lab being operated as a project by the government / municipality to create a living lab activity-base or to support actors’ activities. On the other hand, the Seong-Daegol energy transition living lab and Daejeon Geonneoyu project were conducted by the civil society itself to define problems and explore technologies in order to solve local problems.
