<P>Recent advances in ubiquitous technologies facilitate location-aware and power-aware systems that can provide predefined services. Recent research efforts are based on control mechanisms for standby power reduction. Conventional systems are only designed for power reduction of the consumer electronics. However, due to their architectural limitations, the recent systems are not flexible with respect to LED light control for power reduction. We need to consider efficient autonomous power control based on intelligent devices and the power-aware service prediction in networked environments. In this paper, we propose a power-aware LED light enabler with light sensors, motion sensors and network interfaces. The LED light enabler also communicates with context-aware middleware using an intelligent power gateway that adaptively determines the optimal power control by analyzing user living patterns using sensing data obtained by devices. Our power-aware LED light enabler with adaptive middleware dynamically reconfigures the power-aware services. The proposed adaptive middleware facilitates the learning mechanism which analyzes the illumination and the user activity, and controls the LED lights only when users exist around the devices. Our enabler reduces power consumption up to 58% in comparison to a basic lighting system at the real office testbed.</P>
Content Protective Multi-Agent Platform for MsMu Service and Pattern-Based Content Management

Recent research on mobile Internet protocol television and digital right management (DRM) interconnections has focused on multimedia technologies designed to enhance content scalability and adaptive content distribution. However, due to the architectural and scalable limitations, recent systems are not flexible and securable with respect to their adaptive content distribution and protective policy management. Therefore, we propose a content protective multi-agent platform that provides secure multimedia services, correlation management, pattern-based management, and multi-source multi-use (MsMu)-based services. Our architecture, supported by DRM, lets us create a rich set of MsMu-based content protection and seamless multimedia services through the extension of one source multi-use (OsMu)-based content services. We have verified our platform, which provides scalable and securable services with a 17% lower service response time by using a testbed.

<P>Intelligent gateway systems have evolved to seamlessly offer location-aware and multimedia services, allowing multi users to roam among multi service domains. In the past decade intelligent gateways have been implemented to support context-aware multimedia services with network convergence and service reasoning mechanisms in multi domains. However, recent researches have to consider multiple events and service management according to the user's movements and requirements. Therefore, we propose a Portable Intelligent Gateway System (PIGS) to offer seamless device-independent multimedia services and location-aware push services. Using heterogeneous network convergence and utilizing cooperation between other gateways, the PIGS interconnects users (user devices) who want to be offered multimedia services and Service Providers (SPs). Furthermore, our system dynamically offers differential services to multiple users with respect to the user, device and location characteristics. The PIGS also collects events using embedded sensors and generates events used for service configuration along with service predictions by using light-weight middleware. In this paper we implement real testbed, a house and a car, and verify the effectiveness of the service reconfiguration. The portable gateway structure using the PIGS achieves a 22% faster service response time in comparison to a fixed gateway-based structure.</P>
Design of the Client/Server Driver for MIDISK Based on Window CE
Yoonsik Kwak,Hyunsik Yoon,Taeho Noh,Seokil Song 한국정보기술학회 2005 한국정보기술학회논문지 Vol.3 No.5
The internet disk that this paper presents for mobile device makes a long-distanced storage recognized as a local storage. The MIDISK consists of designing parts of the protocol of internet disk for mobile device, the client, and the server. It was implemented by information device of Windows CE environment For this purpose, this paper suggests a design of the client and server drivers. The client driver produces the virtual disk driver for mobile as and is the key technology of the client, which provides the user with interface environment under which the user can control the disk. It also processes the interface for virtual disk driver and offers a networking that brings data from a distant area or sends them to it. A Linux server will be developed as the server for MIDISK. The server is designed to perform communications according to the protocol between the mobile device and MIDISK, which makes it possible to process properly to the controlling demands of mobile device, and to provide the mobile device with logical volume by connecting it to a large volume storage.
Design and Implementation of Context Aware Sensor Tags for Distribution Measurement of Farm Products
Yoonsik Kwak,Byungju Lee,Jeongil Moon,Donghee Park,Youngsik Kwak,Seokil Song 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.9 No.7
This paper discusses the design and implementation of context-aware sensor tags that can be attached to various containers. The tags are designed to be utilizable in non-standardized fruit boxes, and can identify whether fruit has been loaded in a box because they are attached inside the box. After recognizing normal load status, data are sent only when there is content. The tags were designed and implemented to measure distribution by detecting the movement of the fruit box, and sending data through a context-aware function that determines whether fruit is loaded, and a data-transmission event; the tags also send data periodically, even when the fruit box is not moved

In this paper, we propose nonlinear adaptive speed control under three-phase voltage unbalance of permanent magnet synchronous motors. An adaptive control applied in a-b-c frame dynamics is proposed to compensate three-phase voltage unbalance by different values of resistance. At this method can estimate actual resistances. For velosity tracking, it is proven that the tracking error is globally asymptotically stable via Lyapunov theorem. The proposed method is performed to validate via the simulation.
