Three New Earthworms of the Genus Amynthas (Clitellata: Megascolecidae) from Nam Ha NPA, Laos
Yong Hong,Samuel W. James,Khamla Inkhavilay 한국동물분류학회 2014 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.30 No.2
Three new species of Amynthas (Clitellata: Megascolecidae) were discovered in the Nam Ha National Protected Area (NPA) of Laos. These are Amynthas namhaensis sp. nov., Amynthas vanhi sp. nov., and Amynthas angtanensis sp. nov. Amynthas namhaensis sp. nov. and Amynthas vanhi sp. nov. are athecal, with male pores 0.14-0.17 and 0.17-0.19 circumference apart ventrally, respectively. Amynthas angtanensis sp. nov. has four pairs of spermathecal pores on 4/5-7/8, with male pores very closely set at 0.07-0.1 circumference apart. Descriptions of the new species are provided, including illustrations of the ventral view, intestinal caeca, and spermathecae.
Simulation of Clutch Actuation System for Commercial Vehicle
Yong Hong,Hyun-Woo Park1,Jae-Wan Lee,홍동표 한국정밀공학회 2010 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.
Generally, a method of a hysteresis loop is used to show the property of the clutch system in the design process. This represents the load by a pedal travel which is a useful data for designing a vehicle for the comfort of the driver. Transfer torque of manual shift gear types for heavy duty vehicles is too high. Therefore unlike passenger car air pressure is added to the clutch system in addition to the fluid pressure. In this case it is hard to predict nonlinear element to control the hysteresis because of the addition of the components. In this paper theoretical model of the system components involving variables such as mass, stiffness and damping is developed and simulated. The results of the actual test of the clutch system are compared with simulation.

Three new species of the earthworm genus Amynthas Kinberg, 1867 are described from Nam Phouin, Xayabouli Province, Laos. Amynthas appelhofae sp. nov. has spermathecal pores paired in 7/8/9 at 7th setal lines 0.22–0.29 circumference apart ventrally, simple intestinal caeca, and first dorsal pores in 4/5. Amynthas feakinsi sp. nov. has spermathecal pores paired in 5/6/7 at 17th setal lines, 0.30–0.35 circumference apart ventrally, manicate intestinal caeca, and first dorsal pores in 12/13. Amynthas nathanohlfsi sp. nov. has spermathecal pores paired in 6/7–8/9 at 2nd setal lines, 0.02–0.04 circumference apart ventrally, a single broad oval male porophore, and hearts only in segments XII and XIII.
Estimation for Bolt Fastening Conditions of Thin Aluminum Structure Using PZT Sensors
Yong Hong,Byeong-hee Han,Byung-jin Kim,Dong-pyo Hong,Young-moon Kim 대한기계학회 2007 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.21 No.6
This work presents a study on PZT impedance-based method, it is one of the NDT(Non - Destructive Technique). We study about assessment of the square-structure health condition by impedance-based technique using PZT patches, associated with longitudinal wave propagation. Health conditions of the square-structure controlled by bolt fastening condition is adjusted by torque wrench. In order to estimate the damage condition numerically, we suggest the evaluation method of impedance peak frequency shift.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of iron supplementation on blood components (serum iron, ferritin, transferrin, and RBC, Hb, Hct) and immune cells (WBC, T-helper cell, T-suppressor cell, NK cells, monocyte), and aerobic capacity (VO2max endurance time) during gradual (3 weeks) weight loss. The subjects of this study were 12 high school wrestlers and 1 judo athlete (n=13) whose athletic career ranged from one year to six years. They were divided into 3 groups; non-weight loss group (NW; 4), weight loss group (WL; 4), weight loss and iron supplementation group (WL+IS; 5). In the gradual procedure, weight loss was achieved in 3 weeks by a diet restriction and enforcement of wearing suit for sweating during the last week. Caloric intake (900, 1800, 2700 kcal/day) of both weight loss groups was restricted gradually (3 stage/week) for weeks. Iron, ferritin, transferrin, RBC, Hb, Hct, WBC, T-suppressor cell, T-helper cell, NK cell and monocyte values were analyzed through blood samples drawn before and after weight loss at rest. And VO2max and endurance time were measured the weight blood sampling. Through loss of the WL and WL+IS groups were decreased each by 4.2kg, 4.3kg. Serum iron and transferrin levels decreased after weight loss in the WL, NW groups but in the WL+IS group they increased after weight loss. Feffitin level increased significantly after weight loss in the NW, WL+IS groups but was not significant in the WL group. RBC level increased in all the groups but was not significant. RBC, Hb and Hct levels increased after weight loss in all the groups but RBC and Hb increased significantly in the NW and WL+IS groups. WBC level decreased in the NW and WL groups after weight loss but increased in the WL+IS group after weight loss. T-suppressor cell level decreased significantly after weight loss in the WL+IS group but was not significant in the NW and WL groups. T-helper cell level decreased after weight loss in all the groups. NK cell level increased after weight loss in all the groups. Monocyte level increased after weight loss in the NW and WL+IS groups but decreased after weight loss in the WL group. VO2max increased after weight loss in the NW and WL+IS groups but decreased after weight loss in the WL group. Endurance time increased after weight loss in the WL, WL+IS groups but decreased in the NW group. The data indicate that iron supplementation during gradual weight loss affected serum iron, ferritin and transferin but did not affect RBC, Hb, Hct. Also, immune cells except monocyte seemed to be affected by exercise and gradual weight loss but were not affected by iron supplementation. but, iron supplementation during gradual weight loss affected monocyte. VO2max and endurance time were not affected by gradual weight loss and iron supplementation.
