Time histories which correspond to the design requirement are required to perform a seismic analysis on safety-related structures of nuclear power plants (NPPs). The requirement for evaluating the adequacy of calculated response spectrum and corresponding artificial seismic time histories are presented in the US NRC NUREG-0800 and standard review plan (SRP) 3.7.1 Revision 4. SRP 3.7.1 requirement is composed with option 1 (single set of time history) and option 2 (multiple sets of time histories). The option 1 is subdivided into approach 1 and approach 2. Approach 1 requires that calculated response spectrum (CRS) envelops required response spectrum (RRS). In addition, it is required that the power spectrum density (PSD) calculated from the artificial seismic time histories encompasses the target power spectrum function to show that the artificial seismic time history has sufficient energy in all frequency ranges. Meanwhile, in approach 2, the average ratio of spectral acceleration calculated from the time histories to the target, where the ratio is calculated frequency by frequency, is only slightly greater than 1. It is remarkable that there is no requirement for PSD in approach 2. Instead, response spectrum for 5% damping ratio of the artificial time history must be lower than 130% of the RRS for the entire frequency range of interest. In this study, time history for seismic analysis of NPP structures was successfully generated with approach 1 & 2 method.
Development of Safety Culture Hazard Factors Analyzer in Nuclear Power Plants
( Yonghee Lee ),( Jun Woo Kim ),( Sangmun Shin ) 한국감성과학회 2014 춘계학술대회 Vol.2014 No.-
Safety culture has become an important topic in NPPs primarily during last two decades. The concept of safety culture in NPPs was introduced by the International Nuclear Safety Advisory Group (INSAG) in the post-accident meeting after the Chernobyl accident in 1986. It is difficult to analyze specific influences of all safety culture factors because of the dimensionality problems caused by a large number of input variables as well as application difficulties associated with analysis tools. Even though some safety culture assessment methods may have significant advantages, often these methods cannot provide enough evidence of causal relationships and the statistical inferences among a large number of input variables. Data mining has emerged as one of the key features for data computing and analysis to conduct a data analysis. To this end, an integrated approach called response surface data mining (RSDM) is proposed in order to overcome both dimensionality and analysis problems simultaneously. First of all, on/off line hazard factors of safety culture based on comparative studies among important safety culture reports from IAEA, INPO, and NRC are generated by using quality function deployment (QFD) analysis. Next, a new hazard factor index for safety culture is proposed including three types of characteristics (i.e., the smaller the better, the larger the better, and the nominal the best types).

Dorsal edema of the feet identified on prenatal ultrasound is exceedingly rare, and typically requires a thorough investigation to determine the underlying cause. Various conditions such as thickened normal skin and primary congenital lymphedema, which are often associated with genetic abnormalities, must be excluded. Milroy disease, a form of congenital lymphedema, must also be excluded. Vascular malformations, including congenital venous malformations (CVMs), present a significant diagnostic challenge due to their low incidence and overlapping clinical features. Diagnosing CVMs often requires distinctive characteristics, such as a sponge-like vascular space with slow flow. This report describes the unique case of an infant with isolated dorsal edema of the feet that was identified prenatally and later diagnosed with a CVM. The critical steps in the diagnosis and management of this condition are highlighted in this report.

In recent days, techniques for capturing a 3D model have been developed in different industries. Among different techniques and methods, we focused a technic in dental industry for boosting up time computation of the image scanning and image processing. The process of 3D scanning can be divided into three steps: creating 3d point cloud from a stereo camera using structured light, align the 3D point clouds to reconstruct 3D mesh forms, and merging reconstructed meshes into one 3D mesh. In the previous method, the total cost of computation was 25 seconds after the image is captured, which was not satisfied. Our aiming time consumption is 2 seconds after image is captured. To accomplish the goal, our approach exploits the concept of general purpose computation on graphics processing units and multi-threading system in each step. Our approach used CUDA(compute unified device architecture developed by NVIDA) that can be easily programmed due to it is based on C and boost library to do multi-thread. Therefore computational times using GPU and multi thread CPU shows about 15 times faster than implementation using only CPU.
