        유리협점막이식술의 임상적 연구

        Free grafting of oral mucosa for minor oral reconstruction was first described by Propper in ridge extension surgery. Situation calling for mucosal grafting procedures may relate to periodontal surgery, minor and major preprosthetic surgery, implant surgery, reconstruction in deformity cases after trauma, congenital cleft, gross atrophy and ablative tumor surgery. In the cases of 9 patients with mucosal defect of intraoral or orbital cavity after wide excision of tumor, preprosthetic surgery, and orbitoplasty, full-thickness mucosal graft were used to close a large defect. Four patients received buccal mucosal graft for preprosthetic surgery or orbitoplasty, one patient had benign tumor and the others had malignant tumors located on the palate or upper alveolus. Buccal mucosal graft donor site morbidity and trismus were minimal and healing of surgical defect was satisfactory. So we present the case with review of literatures.

        자색고구마가 사염화탄소 투여에 의한 흰쥐의 간손상 보호에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary purple sweet potato(lpomoea batatas) powder on serum lipid levels and antioxidative enzymes in normal and pretective effect on hepatotoxicity rats induced by carbon tetrachlolide. Four groups of rats (3-week-old inbred Sprague-Dawley male rats) were normal rats fed control diet(C)_(1) induced hepatotoxicity rats fed control diet(EC)_(1) normal rats fed purple sweet potato diet(P), and induced hepatotoxicity rats fed purple potato sweet diet(EP). Rats were induced by single injection of 50% carbon tetrachloide(0.1 mL/100 g B.W., i.p.). The rats were fed ad libitum each of the experimental diet for 5 weeks. After 5 weeks the rats were sacrificed and activities of antioxidant enzymes and lipid peroxidation products were determined in their liver homogenates. But serum concentrations of lipid was not significant in all groups. Serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT/GPT) and aspartate aminotransferase(ALT/GPT)of the EC and EP groups were heigher than the C and P groups. The hepatic glucose 6-phosphatase(G9Pase) activity of the group fed purple potato diet(P) was lower than the other groups(p<0.05). However, The glutathione peroxidase(GPx) activities was not statistically different between the groups. Renal glutathione S-transferase(GST) activity of the EC and EP groups were lower than the C and P groups(p<0.05). In conclusion, these results suggest that purple sweet potato is believed to be possible protective effect on hepatotoxicity rats induced by carbon tetrachlolide.

      • Nd를 첨가한 Sr페라이트 플라스틱자석

        In this dissertation, we have studied on the fabrication of Sr ferrite plastic magnet with additional Nd. First, we selected SrO5.9F₂O₃of nonstoichimatric composition as the basic composition of specimen ferrite since its magnetic property was excellent. Then, we added Nd to the specimen. In order to control the properties of the particles on fabrication of magnetic powder, 0.3wt% CaCO₃, 0.2wt% SiO₂, 0.twt% Al₂O₃and 0.5wt% Na₂SiO₃were added. For carbon coating ont he compound specimen, 5wt% polyvinylalchohol was added and then the compound specimen was calcinated under N₂environment at 1,225 ℃. After performaing grinding process for 18 hours, we obtained 1.0~1.2㎛ size of single domain magnetic powder. We added 1 wt% silane coupling and 1 wt% calcium stearate to the Sr ferrite powder with additional Nd, and then mixed them well. Next, we pelleted them after kneading them, using polyamide12 as a binder. The pelleted specimen was injection-moulded using anisotropic mould under magnetic field of 12kOe. As the results of property tests for the fabricated specimen magnet, we find that the fabricated magnet has the following excellent peroperties at Nd 12.5wt%: bHc=2.84kOe, Br=3.23kG and (BH)max=2.49MGOe.

        This study was carried out to find marketing, storage and harvest of onion in southern parts of Korea from Jan. 1994 to Apr. 1994. Early maturing cultivar harvest between 10th and 20th of May but late maturing cultivar harvest between 10th and 20th of June, this period was busy farming season with a shortage of labor. Early maturing cultivar was send out good directly but late maturing cultivar was send out good after shortage the simple store house with the period 7-9 month, and professional seed production farmer are not in here. We hope that this report stimulates research to investigate for the establishment of not only harvesting practices such as varietal improvement, machanical harvesting and disease resistant variety for the storage.

        Cytoprotective Effects of Docosyl Cafferate against tBHP-Induced Oxidative Stress in SH-SY5Y Human Neuroblastoma Cells

        Neuronal cell death is a common characteristic feature of a variety of neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer`s disease and Parkinson`s disease. However, there have been no effective drugs to successfully prevent neuronal death in those diseases. In the present study, docosyl cafferate (DC), a derivative of caffeic acid, was isolated from Rhus verniciflua and its protective effects on tBHP-induced neuronal cell death were examined in SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells. Pretreatment of DC signify cantly attenuated tBHP-induced neuronal cell death in a concentration-dependent manner. DC also significantly suppressed tBHP-induced caspase-3 activation. In addition, DC restored tBHP-induced depletion of intracellular Bcl-2, an anti-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family. Furthermore, DC signifi cantly suppressed tBHP-induced degradation of IKB, which retains NF-kB in the cytoplasm, resulting in the suppression of nuclear translocation of NF-kB and its subsequent activation. Taken together, the results clearly demonstrate that DC exerts its neuroprotective activity against tBHP-induced oxidative stress through the suppression of nuclear translocation of NF-kB.

        Real-Time Tumor Gene Expression Profiling to Direct Gastric Cancer Chemotherapy: Proof-of-Concept “3G” Trial

        <P><B>Purpose:</B> The oxaliplatin plus S-1 and cisplatin plus S-1 regimens are interchangeably used in the management of advanced gastric cancer. The previously reported G-intestinal (G1) and G-diffuse (G2) intrinsic gene expression signatures showed promise for stratifying patients according to their tumor sensitivity to oxaliplatin or cisplatin.</P><P><B>Experimental Design:</B> The proof-of-concept, multicenter, open-label phase II “3G” trial was done to prospectively evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of using genomic classifiers to tailor treatment in gastric cancer. Patients’ tumors were classified as “G1” or “G2” using a nearest-prediction template method, or “G3” (unclear assignment) when FDR ≥ 0.05. The first 30 patients in the “G1” cohort were assigned oxaliplatin plus S-1 (SOX) chemotherapy; thereafter, subsequently recruited “G1” patients were treated with cisplatin plus S-1 (SP) chemotherapy. “G2” patients and “G3” patients were treated with SP and SOX chemotherapy, respectively.</P><P><B>Results:</B> A total of 48, 21, and 12 patients, respectively, were given “G1,” “G2,” and “G3” genomic assignments. Median turnaround time was 7 days (IQR, 5–9). Response rates were 44.8%, 8.3%, 26.7%, and 55.6% for the “G1-SOX,” “G1-SP,” “G2,” “G3” cohorts, respectively; and was higher in G1 patients treated with SOX compared with SP (<I>P</I> = 0.033). Exploratory analyses using the genomic classifier of Lei and colleagues validated the utility of the metabolic signature as a biomarker for predicting benefit from chemotherapy (log-rank <I>P</I> = 0.004 for PFS), whereas the Asian Cancer Research Group classifier did not demonstrate any predictive value.</P><P><B>Conclusions:</B> This bench-to-bedside effort establishes a reasonable turnaround time for gene expression profiling and possible utility of genomic classifiers in gastric cancer treatment stratification. <I>Clin Cancer Res; 24(21); 5272–81. ©2018 AACR</I>.</P>

        The Determinants of Participation in Physical Activity in Malaysia

        Objectives: In light of the importance of physical activity, the aim of the present study is to examine the factors affecting participation in physical activity among adults in Malaysia. Methods: A logistic regression model and the Third National Health and Morbidity Survey consisting of 30,992 respondents were used. Results: Age, income, gender, education, marital status, region, house locality, job characteristics, and medical conditions are significantly associated with participation in physical activity. In particular, old individuals, high income earners, females, the well-educated, widowed or divorced individuals, East Malaysians, urban dwellers, the unemployed, and individuals who are not diagnosed with hypercholesterolemia are less likely to be physically active than others. Conclusion: Because sociodemographic and health factors play an important role in determining physical activity, the government should take them into account when formulating policy.

      • Effects of Sports Injury Prevention Training on the Biomechanical Risk Factors of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury in High School Female Basketball Players

        <P><B>Background:</B> Female athletes have a higher risk of anterior cruciate ligament injury than their male counterparts who play at similar levels in sports involving pivoting and landing.</P> <P><B>Hypothesis:</B> The competitive female basketball players who participated in a sports injury prevention training program would show better muscle strength and flexibility and improved biomechanical properties associated with anterior cruciate ligament injury than during the pretraining period and than posttraining parameters in a control group.</P> <P><B>Study Design:</B> Controlled laboratory study.</P> <P><B>Methods:</B> A total of 22 high school female basketball players were recruited and randomly divided into 2 groups (the experimental group and the control group, 11 participants each). The experimental group was instructed in the 6 parts of the sports injury prevention training program and performed it during the first 20 minutes of team practice for the next 8 weeks, while the control group performed their regular training program. Both groups were tested with a rebound-jump task before and after the 8-week period. A total of 21 reflective markers were placed in preassigned positions. In this controlled laboratory study, a 2-way analysis of variance (2 × 2) experimental design was used for the statistical analysis (<I>P</I> < .05) using the experimental group and a testing session as within and between factors, respectively. Post hoc tests with Sidak correction were used when significant factor effects and/or interactions were observed.</P> <P><B>Results:</B> A comparison of the experimental group’s pretraining and posttraining results identified training effects on all strength parameters (<I>P</I> = .004 to .043) and on knee flexion, which reflects increased flexibility (<I>P</I> = .022). The experimental group showed higher knee flexion angles (<I>P</I> = .024), greater interknee distances (<I>P</I> = .004), lower hamstring-quadriceps ratios (<I> P</I> = .023), and lower maximum knee extension torques (<I>P</I> = .043) after training. In the control group, no statistical differences were observed between pretraining and posttraining findings (<I>P</I> = .084 to .873). At pretraining, no significant differences were observed between the 2 groups for any parameter (<I>P</I> = .067 to .784). However, a comparison of the 2 groups after training revealed that the experimental group had significantly higher knee flexion angles (<I>P</I> = .023), greater knee distances (<I> P</I> = .005), lower hamstring-quadriceps ratios (<I>P</I> = .021), lower maximum knee extension torques (<I>P</I> = .124), and higher maximum knee abduction torques (<I>P</I> = .043) than the control group.</P> <P><B>Conclusion:</B> The sports injury prevention training program improved the strength and flexibility of the competitive female basketball players tested and biomechanical properties associated with anterior cruciate ligament injury as compared with pretraining parameters and with posttraining parameters in the control group.</P> <P><B>Clinical Relevance:</B> This injury prevention program could potentially modify the flexibility, strength, and biomechanical properties associated with ACL injury and lower the athlete’s risk for injury.</P>

        Peptic ulcer bleeding is treated using endoscopic hemostasis using clips or bands. Pancreas divisum (PD), a congenital anomaly of the pancreas, usually has no clinical symptoms; however, pancreatitis may occur if there are disturbances in the drainage of pancreatic secretions. We report an unusual case of PD accompanied by acute pancreatitis, following endoscopic band ligation for duodenal ulcer bleeding. A 48-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital due to melena. An upper endoscopy revealed a small ulcer with oozing adjacent minor papilla. An endoscopic band ligation was performed on this lesion. Acute pancreatitis developed suddenly 6 hours after the band ligation and improved dramatically after removal of the band. Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography was performed, revealing complete PD. Endoscopic band ligation is known as the effective method for peptic ulcer bleeding; however, it should be used carefully in duodenal ulcer bleeding near the minor duodenal papilla due to the possibility of PD.         Effect of subthalamic nucleus lesions in a 6-hydroxydopamine-induced rat parkinsonian model: behavioral and biochemical studies

        <B>Object</B><P>The purpose of this study was to determine whether subthalamic nucleus (STN) ablation caused by kainic acid can restore dopaminergic neurotransmission and improve motor deficits in a 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced hemiparkinsonian model.</P><B>Methods</B><P>The authors investigated behavioral changes in rats displaying parkinsonian symptoms (6-OHDA-lesioned rats) after an STN lesion was created using kainic acid. They also measured levels of dopamine and its metabolites following tissue dissection. The results of this study showed that STN ablation led to behavioral improvement in parkinsonian motor deficits. Increased levels of dopamine were also observed in the striatum and globus pallidus externus (GPE).</P><B>Conclusions</B><P>The results indicate that creation of an STN lesion in this hemiparkinsonian rat model may counteract some of the neurochemical changes within the striatum and GPE caused by the 6-OHDA, and influence striatal dopaminergic metabolism.</P>
