북한은 농업환경이 山地가 78%이상으로 감자재배에 적당한 지역이 많으며 少肥作物로서 재배하기가 쉽고 농업계획에서부터 재배, 생산 및 수확까지 일관작업에 의한 통제되는 협동농장에서 발전된 기술을 도입한다면 감자의 생산량은 增加될수 있어 북한의 부족한 食糧問題를 해결할수 있을 것으로 생각되며 남한과 주요 기술상의 차이점은 다음과 같다. 1. 지금까지 북한에서는 育成된 다수확 감자 優良品種이나 우량종서 부족으로 전국 평균수량은 남한보다 떨어지고 있다. 2. 북한은 올해 감자 재배면적 확대, 우량 씨감자 확보와 다수확재배기술 개발로 대대적인 감자 增産運動을 전개하고 있는 실정이다. 3. 남한은 감자 栽培作型에 관계없이 施肥法은 대부분 전량 기비이나 북한은 50% 기비후, 추비 2회로 분시하고 있다. 4. 북한은 감자를 포함한 다양한 作付醴系 개발로 채소 등 다른 밭작물과의 간작, 혼작 작부형태가 발전되었다. 5. 북한은 감자흰쌀, 감자국수 등 加工食品의 다양화로 副食에서 主食으로 전환하여 소비를 촉진하고 있다. This study was designed to compare potato cultivation techniques in north Korea with south Korea. North Korea has appropriate highland for potato cultivation by 78% above in the agricultural environment. Potatoes growth are well generally by few fertilizer application. Potato production in cooperative farm, which are designed agricultural planning, cultivation, production and harvesting works, will be increase by introduction of developed techniques for potato cultivation. Increasing potato production will solve the insufficient food problem in north Korea. Comparison on the potato cultivation techniques of north Korea with south Korea are follows. Nationwide average yield of potato in north Korea was lower than that of south Korea, for the shortages of breeded highyielding potato varieties and superior seed potatoes. North Korea hold spreading of potato cultivation area, insurancing superior seed potato and developing of highyielding cultivation techniques in this year. Increase campaign of potatoes were spreaded all over the country. Fertilization method on potato based on regardless to cultivation types in south Korea, but that of north Korea based on by 50% and supplemented by 50% with twice. Potatoes are cultivated with vegetables in the intercropping and mixing cropping by developing various cropping systems including potato. Potato comsumption in the north Korea was accelerated by developing techniques on the diverse potato processing food that potato rice, potato noodle etc. and suggesting to transfer side dish to the staple food.
Occurrence of Pasteuria spp. Associated with Plant-parasitic Nematodes in Korea

A survey was conducted on the occurrence of Pasteuria spp. associated with plant-parasitic nematodes in greenhouse and open field soils in Korea from 1996 to 2000. Among the 372 soil samples assayed, 20 samples had plant-parasitic nematodes attached with Pasteuria spp. endospores. The nematodes found with Pasteuria endospores and their collection sites were Meloidogyne spp. in Sungju, Cheju, and Yeoju and Helicotylenchus sp., Pratylenchus sp., Heterodera sp., and Aphelenchus sp. in Cheju. Morphological characteristics of the endospores on Meloidogyne incognita juveniles observed under light, scanning and transmission electron microscopes were same as the previous description of Pasteuria penetrans Sayre & Starr 1988.
