The prevalence of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has been increasing worldwide, as has the economic cost associated with this condition. GDM threatens the health of the mother and child, and thus proper monitoring and management are essential. Mobile healthcare services have been applied to manage some diseases, particularly chronic diseases. We aimed to evaluate the utility of a mobile application in nutritional intervention by observing cases of a mobile application in a series of patients with GDM. We provided a mobile-based intervention to GDM patients and collected biochemical and nutritional information. The mobile-based nutritional intervention was effective in controlling carbohydrate intake and improving blood glucose level for patients with GDM.
English Island Sentences by Korean EFL Learners
Yeonkyung Park,Yong-hun Lee 한국영어학학회 2018 영어학연구 Vol.24 No.1
This paper examined how Korean English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners processed English island sentences using an experimental method. Sprouse et al. (2012) demonstrated that English native speakers identified four types of island constraints in their language : whether, complex NP, subject, and adjunct. Kim (2015), on the other hand, applied the same strategy and revealed that Korean EFL learners did not identify complex NP and adjunct islands. This study performed the same experiments but used the magnitude estimation method (not Likert scale). The experiments and their statistical analyses clearly showed that Korean EFL learners clearly identified all the types of islands. The difference between this study and Kim (2015) might be originated from the measuring method of acceptability judgment scores and the statistical analyses.

In this paper, a novel voltage-programmed pixel circuit based on amorphous indium-gallium-zinc-oxide thin film transistor (a-InGaZnO TFT) for active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays with the enhanced aperture ratio is proposed. The proposed circuit consists of 5 TFTs and one capacitor. Through extensive simulation and layout works, we verified the proposed circuit compensates for the variation of the threshold voltage in a variety of harsh stress conditions. In addition, by removing one storage capacitor and one signal line, the proposed circuit can increase the aperture ratio as well as decrease the complexity of circuit operation in comparison to the conventional pixel circuit.
