Polyethylene film inserted between compost and pot-wall to reduce evaporative waterloss. Petunia planted in two Conditions of clay pot were watered at one to four days intervals to compare their effect on the growth of potted plant. Plant growth was reduced in the clay pot when watering interval and delayed, while forced in the polyethylene film inserted clay pot. All plant characters investigated in the polyethylene film inserted clay pot were more favorable than clay pot. Therefore, reduction of watering-cost can be expected by utilization of polyethylene film inserted clay pot likewise non-porous pot.
잣버섯 (Lentinus Iepideus DGUM 25050)의 균사생육을 위한 배지조성의 최적화

The fruiting body of Lentinus lepideus has been used as an edible mushroom, which has good taste, typical pine flavor and medicinal components for immunostimulation and antitumor activity. In this study, the culture condition and medium composition of L. lepideus DGUM 25050 isolated were optimized for higher mycelial production. The optimal temperature and pH for mycelial culture were 30℃ and pH 5.0, respectively. Among the complex media tested, yeast-malt extract was most favorable for stimulating mycelial growth of L. lepideus. When the Czapek-Dox medium was used as a minimal medium for mycelial culture, starch of polysaccharide was very excellent and both lactose of dissacharide and xylitol of monosaccharose were prominent as a sole source of carbon and energy. As a source of nitrogen, organic nitrogen complex was better than inorganic one and organic soytone was best. When Na_2HPO_4 as a phosphorus source and p-amino benzoic acid as a vitamin were supplemented to the minimal medium, mycelial growth was enhanced. The optimal C/N ratio was 6.0 and stimulated a favorable growth of L. lepideus, when 3.0% of starch and 0.5% of soytone were added to the medium. The optimized medium for mycelial growth of L. lepideus DGUM 25050 was determined and named as LLM, of which composition was as follows: starch 3.0%, malt extract 1.2%, soytone 0.5%, Na2HPO4 0.72%, formic acid 0.1%, ethyl alcohol 0.1%, p-aminobenzoic 0.5 ㎎/l. When the mycelia were cultivated for 15 days, 9.2 g/ℓ of dry weight in LLM broth was higher than 6.8 g/ℓ in the medium used generally for mycelial culture of L. lepideus.

The authors studied on the germination of hard coated pyracantha seed. The seeds were treated with gibberellic acid, concentrated sulphuric acide, chilling, hot water soaking and soaking in water. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Germination rate were increased by hot-water soaking, gibberellic acid treatment and concentrated sulphuric acid treatment, while decreased by chilling and soaking in water. 2. Decreased germination rate by chilling and water soaking can be increased by concentrated sulphuric acid treatment. 3. Maximum germination rate was 19-24% in control, 28%in gibberellic acid treatment, 52% in sulphuric acid treatment and 91% in hot-water treatment. 4. Most effective temperature and duration for hot-water treatment was 30 to 90 minutes at 40℃. 5. Germination rate was lowed at 30℃ than 20℃ at seed bed.

This study was carried out to investigate the influence of the dampness of concrete floor in storeroom on the quality of packed flue-cured leaf tobacco with corrugated causes for aging. The results were summarized as follows. The moisture and relative humidity conditions at the 15cm height from the concrete floor were 2.2℃ lower and 16% RH higher than those at the 300 cm height in the storeroom. Due to loading position, no significant changes in moisture content of leaf tobacco in the third layer was found. However, in the first layer, 2.4% of increase in moisture content was found. In the case of the layer, the circumference of corrugated casses was increased more largely than in the middle. During aging, the nicotine and total sugar content and pH value in leaf tobacco were decreased. Due to loading position, the pH, nicotine and total sugar content of leaf tobacco in the first layer were decreased significantly than those in the third layer. After aging, the degree of the lightness(L) and the yellowness(b) of leaf tobacco in the first layer were dropped by 3.2 and 2.5, respectively. However, the degree of the redness(a) was Increased by 0.63. Mold was occured in the leaf tobacco at the low part of the first layer.
의료용 선형가속기의 일상 점검을 위해 개발한 이온전리함의 특성 연구

The dosimetric system consisting of parallel plate type of air-filled ionization chamber and charge-to-voltage converter was designed to do daily constancy check of the high energy photon beam of Clinac 1800C linear accelerator(Varian Co., Pola Alto, California, USA). The ionization chamber was fabricated using acrylic plate for the chamber medium and printed circuit board for electrical configuration. The sensitive volume of the chamber was 1.6cc. High voltage generator was fabricated using the conventional 9V batteries to apply the high voltage(300V) to the electrode of the ionization chamber. Also the charge-to-voltage converter was designed to collect the electrons produced in the ionization chamber cavity. The output reading was converted into the digital signal using the commercially available digital multimeter to produce four-digit readings. The major parameters of the chamber characteristics such as reproducibility. linearity. leakage current. zero drift. timer error. dose-rate effect and polarity effect etc. were measured. These data were comparable to those of the QA-purpose dosimetric system commercially available in the market. Also this dosimetric system can be extended to do the flatness/symmetry check of the photon as well as the constancy check of the various electron beams for the purpose of outputs as well as energy measurements.

Numerical simulation is one of the most useful tools to study gas discharge phenomena that occur in alternating current plasma display panel (AC-PDP) cell. Most PDP cell simulations have been performed for two-dimensional cell, is cross-section along the address electrode. We developed a three-dimensional PDP simulator and applied it to a T-shaped electrode cell in order to show the effects of sustain electrode shape that cannot be included in two-dimensional simulation. The dependence of power consumption on electrode shape and area in the simulation showed the same trend as experiment.
