In this paper, we propose a XML-based BOM management system for the related processes of the S-company. The system is implemented in a 3-tier client server architecture, in which p-BOM documents and drawing data are presented in a web browser, processed with http, and stored in a data base server. XML and XSL are used for the web presentation, data processing between a client and a server and a data base. The system has benefits of a relatively easy processing on BOM documents, as well as load reduction of a server-side processing. The system has been implemented with the computing environment of Internet Explorer 5.0, IIS 4.0, MS-Access.
CURRENT STATUS OF NUCLEAR FUSION ENERGY RESEARCH IN KOREA
MYEUN KWON,YOUNG SOON BAE,SEUNGYON CHO,최원호,홍봉근,황용석,JIN YONG KIM,KEEMAN KIM,YAUNG-SOO KIM,JONG-GU KWAK,HYEON GON LEE,SANGIL LEE1,나용수,BYUNG-HOON OH,YEONG-KOOK OH,박지연,HYUNG LYEOL YANG,IN KEUN YU 한국원자력학회 2009 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.41 No.4
The history of nuclear fusion research in Korea is rather short compared to that of advanced countries. However, since the mid- 1990s, at which time the construction of KSTAR was about to commence, fusion research in Korea has been actively carried out in a wide range of areas, from basic plasma physics to fusion reactor design. The flourishing of fusion research partly owes to the fact that industrial technologies in Korea including those related to the nuclear field have been fully matured, with their quality being highly ranked in the world. Successive pivotal programs such as KSTAR and ITER have provided diverse opportunities to address new scientific and technological problems in fusion as well as to draw young researchers into related fields. The frame of the Korean nuclear fusion program is now changing from a small laboratory scale to a large national agenda. Coordinated strategies from different views and a holistic approach are necessary in order to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness. Upon this background, the present paper reflects upon the road taken to arrive at this point and looks ahead at the coming future in nuclear fusion research activities in Korea.
Characterization of Sulfur Oxidation by an Autotrophic Sulfur Oxidizer, Thiobacillus sp. ASWW-2
Lee Eun Yaung,Cho Kyung-Suk,Ryu Hee Wook The Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengine 2000 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.5 No.1
An autotrophic sulfur oxidizer, Thiobacillus sp. ASWW-2, was isolated from activated sludge, and its sulfur oxidation activity was characterized. Thiobacillus sp. ASWW-2 could oxidize elemental sulfur on the broad range from pH 2 to 8. When 5-50 g/L of elemental sulfur was supplemented as a substrate, the growth and sulfur oxidation activity of Thiobacillus sp. ASWW-2 was not inhibited. The specific sulfur oxidation rate of strain ASWW-2 decreased gradually until sulfate was accumulated in medium up to 10 g/L. In the range of sulfate concentration from 10 g/L to 50 g/L, the sulfur oxidation rate could keep over $2.0g-S/g-DCW{\cdot}d$. It indicated that Thiobacillus sp. ASWW-2 has tolerance to high concentration of sulfate.

Wavefront sensing using a Shack-Hartmann sensor has been widely used for estimating wavefront errors or distortions. The sensor combines the local slopes, which are estimated from the centroids of each lenslet image, to give the overall wavefront reconstruction. It was previously shown that the pupil-plane irradiance profile effects the centroid estimation. Furthermore, a previous study reported that the reconstructed wavefront from a planar wavefront with a Gaussian pupil irradiance profile contains large focus and spherical aberration terms when there is a focus error. However, it has not been reported yet how seriously the pupil irradiance profiles, which can occur in practical applications, effect the sensing errors. This paper considered two cases when the irradiance profiles are not uniform: 1) when the light source is Gaussian and 2) when there is a partial interference due to a double reflection by a beam splitting element. The images formed by a Shack-Hartmann sensor were simulated through fast Fourier transform and were then supposed to be detected by a noiseless CCD camera. The simulations found that sensing errors, due to the Gaussian irradiance profile and the partial interference, were found to be smaller than RMS ${\lambda}/50$ when ${\lambda}$ is $0.6328\;{\mu}m$, which can be ignored in most practical cases where the reference and test beams have the same irradiance profiles.
