        Influences of Wire Diameters on Output Power in Electromagnetic Energy Harvester

        In this paper, we systematically investigate how the wire diameter affects the output performance of electromagnetic energy harvesters. The harvesters with the same structure but different coils mainly comprised of a magnet array, two coil arrays, a pair of springs and a housing. Different discrete wire diameters of coils are selected to compare the output performance and explore the optimal value. We first set up the theoretical model of the configuration to predict optimal wire diameter and conduct simulations to observe open-circuit voltage and output power, and find the hypothetically optimal diameter leading to the best performance. Subsequently, we fabricate a series of prototypes and conduct four groups of experiments from the following aspects for comparison purposes: constant frequency excitation, frequency sweep, impedance matching and charging capacitors, and validate the theoretically estimated value. When we operate the prototypes under the excitation of 20 Hz, 1.0 g, the maximum average power of 37.45 mW is generated with the best wire diameter, at least 1.62 times as high as that in other cases. The results of capacitor charging experiments, i.e., charging rate, further validate the output power trend. This study can be of great significance for power density improvement in electromagnetic energy harvesters.

        Linear Matrix Inequality Approach to Stochastic Stabilization of Networked Control System with Markovian Jumping Parameters

        This paper is concerned with the stochastic stabilization problem for a class of networked control system(NCS) with destabilizing transmission factors. By introducing the effective sampling instant to model randomtime delays and successive packet dropouts as two independent Markov chains, NCS is modeled as a discrete-timeMarkovian jump linear system with mixed integrated Markovian jumping parameters. In this way, a novel frameworkto analyze the stochastic stabilization problem of NCS is provided. The necessary and sufficient conditions forthe stochastic stabilization of the NCS are obtained by the Lyapunov method and the state-feedback controller gainthat depends on the delay modes is obtained in terms of the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) formulation via theSchur complement theory. Finally, numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposedmethod.

      • Research on Key Technologies of Dynamic Spectrum Sccess in Cognitive Radio

        Research on spectrum sensing and spectrum switching that are the key technologies of cognitive radio dynamic spectrum access is carried out in this paper. In order to reduce the required number of dualistic detection when in low spectrum occupancy rate and reduce the complexity of wideband spectrum sensing calculation, this paper presents a wideband spectrum sensing method based on group testing (GT) and constructs a two-step GT scheme based on polyphase filtering. In terms of spectrum switching, a method based on spectrum prediction is proposed for the determination of the switching time. Test results show that the main function of dynamic spectrum access is changed into reality. Both sides of the cognitive radio test platform could automatically find the idle channel link and establish links without common control channel, furthermore, when the current communication channel is reoccupied by primary users, the platform could switch to other idle channel automatically and quickly.

        New Polytriazoleimides with High Thermal and Chemical Stabilities

        A series of novel polytriazoleimides were prepared from various aromatic dianhydrides and a new kind of 1,2,3-triazole-containing aromatic diamine synthesized by the Cu (I)-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction in DMAc, and characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, XRD, DSC and TGA techniques. The results show the polytriazoleimides are soluble in most of strong polar solvents and have inherent viscosity values of 0.51-0.62 dL/g(DMAc). The polytriazoleimide films exhibit a tensile strength of 62.3-104.5 MPa and an elongation at breakage of 4.0-8.1%, a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 257-275 oC, a decomposition temperature (at 5% weight loss) of 350-401 oC in N2 atmosphere, and a dielectric constant of 2.47-3.01 at 10 MHz, which depend on the structure of the polymers. The polytriazoleimides perform good resistance to acid and alkali solution.

        Agromyces laixinhei sp. nov. isolated from bat feces in China

        Three rod-shaped, Gram-stain-positive, and catalase-positive, phenotypically closely related isolates (HY052T, HY050, and HY045) were obtained from fecal samples collected from bats in Guangxi province and Chongqing city of China. Circular, smooth, light-yellow colonies appeared on brain heart infusion plate after 24–48 h incubation at 28°C. The optimal pH for growth was between 6.0 and 7.5. Based on 16S rRNA, the three isolates were phylogenetically related to Agromyces terreus DS-10T, Agromyces aureus AR33T, Agromyces salentinus 20-5T, Agromyces allii UMS-62T, Agromyces lapidis CD55T, and Agromyces italicus CD1T. Moreover, based on 296 core genes, the phylogenomic tree indicated that the three isolates clustered together, closest to Agromyces cerinus VKM Ac- 1340T and Agromyces fucosus VKM Ac-1345T but separated distantly from other Agromyces species. The average nucleotide identity values between strain HY052T and other Agromyces species ranged from 79.3% to 87.9%, lower than the 95–96% threshold. Furthermore, the genome of strain HY052T contains a circular chromosome of 3,437,203 bp with G + C content of 69.0 mol%. Main fatty acids were anteiso-C15:0 and anteiso-C17:0. The polar lipids comprised diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, and unidentified glycolipids. Rhamnose, ribose, and glucose were the primary cell wall sugars. The major peptidoglycan amino acids included alanine, glutamic acid, glycine, and 2,4-diaminobutyric acid. An additional remarkable difference from other Agromyces species is that MK-12 was the sole menaquinone in strain HY052T. Based on results from the polyphasic characterizations performed in this study, our isolates are proposed to be members of a novel species in genus Agromyces, named Agromyces laixinhei. The type strain is HY052T (= CGMCC 1.17175T = JCM 33695T).

        Alternative Biological Material for Tissue Engineering of the Vagina: Porcine-Derived Acellular Vaginal Matrix

        Background: Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome is a severe congenital disorder characterized by vaginal hypoplasia caused by dysplasia of the Müllerian duct. Patients with MRKH syndrome often require nonsurgical or surgical treatment to achieve satisfactory vaginal length and sexual outcomes. The extracellular matrix has been successfully used for vaginal reconstruction. Methods: In this study, we developed a new biological material derived from porcine vagina (acellular vaginal matrix, AVM) to reconstruct the vagina in Bama miniature pigs. The histological characteristics and efficacy of acellularization of AVM were evaluated, and AVM was subsequently transplanted into Bama miniature pigs to reconstruct the vaginas. Results: Macroscopic analysis showed that the neovaginas functioned well in all Bama miniature pigs with AVM implants. Histological analysis and electrophysiological evidence indicated that morphological and functional recovery was restored in normal vaginal tissues. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the neovaginas had mucosal folds characteristics of normal vagina. No significant differences were observed in the expression of CK14, HSP47, and α-actin between the neovaginas and normal vaginal tissues. However, the expression of estrogen receptor (ER) was significantly lower in the neovaginas than in normal vaginal tissues. In addition, AVM promoted the expression of β-catenin, c-Myc, and cyclin D1. These results suggest that AVM might promotes vaginal regeneration by activating the β-catenin/c-Myc/cyclin D1 pathway. Conclusion: This study reveals that porcine-derived AVM has potential application for vaginal regeneration.       • A Hybrid Life-Cycle Analysis and Two-Stage Stochastic Programming Model for Low-Carbon Management upon Urban Water Resources

        Due to population growth and economic development, water demands for municipal, industrial, and agricultural users are increasing. It is a challenging and critical issue in water resources system to properly allocate and utilize water resources to satisfy the goals of different stakeholders and greenhouse gases mitigation. In this study, a hybrid life-cycle analysis and two-stage stochastic programming model was proposed to analyze the water-allocation strategies based on complicated urban water resource system. The hybrid model can effectively assess the low-carbon performance of an urban water resources system in the framework of life-cycle analysis. The environmental impacts and GHGs reduction of urban water resources were firstly considered as the objective and constraint for solving the water allocation problems. The results indicated that the first-stage solutions of surface water conveyance of Dalian could be [3.83×108, 8.25×108] in 2015, and [3.83×108, 9.21×108] in 2020; Meanwhile, the first-stage solutions of surface water conveyance of Dalian could be [4.26×108, 8.68×108] in 2015, and [5.35×108, 10.7×108] in 2020.

        Stochastic orders and aging notions based upon the moment generating function order: Theory

        The purpose of this paper is to study new notions of stochastic comparisons and aging notions based on the moment generating function order. Two characteristics of the moment generating function order of residual lives are obtained, and some closure properties of the aging classes DRLmg (IRLmg ), NBUmg (NWUmg ) and EBUmg (EWUmg ) under some transformations are developed. As application, some results for random sums with applications to shock models are obtained.

        Molecular Characterization and Expression Analysis of GhWRI1 in Upland Cotton

        Numerous genes were involved in oil metabolism,transcription factors are the key genes, such as WRINKLED(AtWRI1, At3g54320) in Arabidopsis. A homolog of AtWRI1,GhWRI1 (accession number: JF430801), was cloned in presentstudy. Promoter activity analyses revealed that activityelements were existed in the upstream of GhWRI1 initiationcodon between -912 ~ -720 bp and -372 ~ -177 bp regions. The putative transcriptional activity domain was localized inthe C-terminal of GhWRI1 protein. GhWRI1 was moreabundant in high oil content materials and elevated expressionwith cottonseed development, suggesting the crucial role inseed oil accumulation. Meanwhile, expression level of GhWRI1was induced under multiple abiotic stresses, suggesting thatGhWRI1 might participate in cotton responding to stresses. Overexpression of GhWRI1 increased seed oil content andseed weight in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana. In transgenicplants, genes downstream of AtWRI1, such as enoyl-ACPreductase (AtEAR, At2g05990), pyruvate kinases (AtPKp2,At5g52920), and pyruvate dehydrogenase subunit (AtPDHE1α,At1g01090) were up-regulated expression two to five timescompared with the wild-type. The results suggested that GhWRI1could be used in regulating oil accumulation in cottonseeds.
